We tried Wimpy's on our trip to Universal and it was alright but not really anything special. It's a tiny little stand where you can order food and there's a limited number of tables nearby. The staff seemed generally irritated and appeared to be arguing amongst themselves about something or other. The burgers themselves were decent, similar to a burger you might get at a cookout but nothing special. The curly fries were crispy and curly enough to our liking. If you're looking for a quick spot to grab a decent, more affordable burger than many of the other places in the park I suggest giving them a try. read more

Wimpy's is located in Island of Adventure at Universal Orlando. You will need a park ticket in order to eat here. This is a hidden gem of a restaurant. In all honesty, you would probably miss it, if you didn't know it existed. We visited here recently on a day my husband and I wanted to try some hidden items at Island of Adventure. This was a stop we had on our list. This stop is an outdoor quick service location. It is located in Toon Lagoon towards the back, it is sort of across from the entrance to Pluto's Barge water ride. It is only open for lunch and dinner and has an extremely limited menu. It is also all outside, there are no tables inside, but most of them have covering. The first thing I love about this restaurant is they serve curly fries!! I love curly fries, and I am pretty sure it is the only place I have seen curly fries at both Universal and Disney! As I said their menu is extremely limited. They only serve 1 burger, a veggie burger and chicken fingers. They also have drinks, 2 desserts and two types of beer. We went to try the Wellington Cheeseburger Platter: cheddar cheese, tomato, lettuce, pickle, onions, mayo ketchup. We asked for the onions and mayo ketchup on the side. This burger was fantastic and surprisingly so yummy! This was not your typical theme park burger, it was thick, it was juicy, it was good. The pickles were the longer thin pickles and thick cut slices of tomatoes. It was really good. It did have cheese, but I think next time, I will add extra cheese. The curly fries were crispy and seasoned a tad, normally how curly fries are. Overall, this is a great spot. I saw the chicken fingers and they were the crispy, very bready chicken tender, but they looked like they had a pretty good amount of chicken inside. My only reason for a 4 instead of 5 is there are 3 items on the menu and all the seating is outside and very limited. People were hovering around tables which was highly annoying. I would for sure come back here. To have a decent burger in a theme park is very rare and you will find it here. I would come back here and recommend it to others as well. I am seriously impressed by this place. It's a rather unassuming diner in the Islands of Adventure. Over the counter service with a limited menu of burgers and chicken fingers. I had the Wellington Cheeseburger and a side of chicken fingers. Yeah it's pricey at $16.49 and $12.49, but everything inside Universal is pricey! If you're trying to maximize your time inside Universal, this place more than fits your bill for a quick fast food place. The outside seats were fine, but it seemed that nobody was cleaning for a long time because the tables were dirty. The wellington cheese burger tasted ok. I'm giving this place 4 stars. The only reason why it's not 5 is because there's no mobile order and there's no indoor seating area. When it's 100 outside, a nice ac while eating is good. As for the food itself, it's about the best burger in all quick service around universal parks. It's not the best burger in the world, but it's good. Way better than next door comic strip cafe or even the burger digs. It comes with curly fries which are also good and the best, it's cheaper than the burger and fries combo at other locations but about 3 to $4. I took the burger with the include sauce. First, I want to say that I am not a burger fan, I have to be in the mood for a burger, but this place is fantastic! This is another spot my wife and I never visit. It's not often you find a good, quick service burger these days. Well, here it is guys! We have passes to UO and honestly, never been to this section before, we aren't big water ride fans. However we learned of the little play area for kids and decided to check it out and came across this location. The only downfalls is that there is no mobile ordering and because it's by the water rides, all the tables are taken up by people trying to dry their clothes off. Took us 20 minutes to get a table and then had to hunt down a worker to clean the table off. Considering it's quick service and we know they usually have open seating or no seating I decided not to let this affect the rating, but just be aware. The service was ok, not a long interaction but nothing spectacular either. The burger was great by any standards but as a theme park quick service, it was amazing! After hearing about this place for years, and it often not being opened, we finally got to try the iconic Wellington burger! So worth the wait! This is a top notch burger experience. The meat is so well seasoned and the bun is soft and fluffy. The fries are amazing, well seasoned. Terrific. The portion size is quite big, we divided it into four and each had a really large portion. If you are not a big eater, or plan on eating around the park, get one to share, it is big enough. True it was pricey but most things are nowadays even outside a theme park. I like that they also offer a vegan option here. I have had their vegan food and burgers, and really enjoy them, so order it here is you do not eat beef. "I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today"-Wimpy. Great place to stop and have a filling lunch, great portions here. You can easily share a meal with someone. The location is hidden away across the bridge next to the Popeyes water ride. They have a good size outdoor eating area that has umbrellas and a covered patio that you can eat under while you watch people from the Popeye ride coming down the rapids. So much fun to watch! The burgers are freshly made when you order them so there is a bit of a wait. My Wellington cheeseburger was a bit on the salty side for me so I would recommend to ask for light seasoning or none otherwise this place has some great juicy burgers! The staff is also very nice and friendly. The lady was happy to give us ice water when we asked and she also was very nice when I asked if she could fill my refillable water bottle.
