This place is quite near my work, so it's nice to stop for lunch with coworkers. I like being able to get a soup, a salad and half a sandwich or if that is not to my liking a soup, a salad and another salad. There are so many combinations it would be hard not to satisfy everyone. During peak lunch hours, it does get crowded, so you will wait at the counter to order your food and you may not have a choice of where to sit. It also does get loud, as others have mentioned. It's very casual, so my coworker tells me she stops with the family after soccer on Saturdays for a fresh meal. I believe I got the blue beet salad, the Greek salad and a veggie sandwich. This is a super posh soup-salad-sandwich shop in Sandy Springs. (How's that for alliteration?) The office lunch crew and I checked it out for the first time today and plan to give it another few tries. Lunch special: For $10, you can have a lunch combo that includes a variation of sandwich, soup, or salad. I chose the 1/2 chicken salad sandwich with two salads. I have to say: The chicken salad was savory and the salads are *tasty.* The quinoa salad was very hearty with just the right amount of dill. The broccoli salad was very Old South but just the right amount of sweet and savory. With tea, the combo came to a little more than $12. The atmosphere: Again, very posh and *very* "ladies who lunch." Most of the tables were made up of Roswell ladies enjoying luncheon together after a tough morning at the country club. There were two or three tables with office mates or nurses from nearby businesses and doctor's offices. Decor is well done; it appears that old family photos featuring the owner's grandparents fill one wall. There's a lot of space outdoors, but today it was so hot only a few were brave enough to sit there. The staff: Very friendly and quick. The room fills up for lunch, so arrive a little before noon if you can. There was a small line to the door by the time we finished up, but it looked to be moving quickly. The owner was on site and checked in on several tables while we were there - that was a nice touch. The sweet stuff: Everyone's comments about the sweet breads seem to be dead on. My boyfriend called to place a to-go order here, and the man picking up the phone essentially tried to avoid taking the order over the phone and wanted us to go through the online system. When my boyfriend mentioned the sandwich we wanted, Ruth's brisket, wasn't listed on the online menu, the man goes "oh that's right..." and then tells us we can use the online system and just order another sandwich that he would change manually once it came through the computer. Already off to a weird start, but we were able to convince him to just take the order over the phone because we had wasted so much time. We ordered one Ruth's brisket sandwich, a Cuban, and a half Caprese. The man asked us what sides we wanted (as each sandwich came with a side), and told him two Greek salads and a watermelon salad. We arrived to pick up the order and after paying $40 and leaving, we saw that we were charged for one of the salads. I guess only the full sandwiches come with a side, but that was never mentioned to us via phone. The Cuban sandwich was pretty underwhelming, as was the Caprese. The bread on both was overpressed and almost burnt. My boyfriend mentioned the meat was not good quality on his Cuban. Unfortunately, the real disappointment came when we tried the brisket. They gave us a raw, untoasted onion bun, a container of brisket, and some pickles so we could build the sandwich ourselves at home. The brisket juices soaked the bun within 30 seconds, making it impossible to eat with your hands. The brisket meat was really pot roast meat, not brisket, and really lacked flavor. I had been following Breadwinner on Instagram for months waiting to try this sandwich, and I was really disappointed. I just discovered this place on my most recent trek out to Hotlanta and I'm glad I did. It's very convenient for me and the lunch combo - sandwich and 2 side salads or soup and sandwich for $8 is just enough food to fill you up but not overwhelm the belly. It's got plenty of parking since it's located in a strip mall but it's very loud so if you are with someone who has trouble hearing or want a quiet place to eat, get your food to go. Really good pimiento cheese (as good as my own!) sandwiches. Get it toasted with tomato soup and you are good to go. Closed on Sundays. What a shame! read more

Very cozy little place. Their lunch special is much better than expected. You get plenty of food that is very fresh, as well tasty. We tried the tuna melt as well as the chicken salad sandwich, both of which were very good. You also get to choose between two sides, or a cup of soup. Cuban is solid (8/10), watermelon feta and mint salad was an solid summer salad. All employees were friendly, ample parking, and lots of tasty options. SO had the pesto chicken sandwich (8/10, could use a little more pesto), Greek salad was perfect and cavatappi was tasty (though could use more seasoning). I gave it a second chance and tried the turkey chili...which was the consistency of Chili Dog Chili. Tis is in regards to the Dunwoody location. The management is more interested in schmoozing than being a manager or owner. No concern for business or lack of in this case. They won't make any excel for any sandwiches. I do not eat cheese and meat together and they said no substitutions. Others has pork, eggs and onions which I don't or can't eat either. Very poor business/business model considering they were almost empty at 12:30. Think that would be their prime time. They claim to make everything fresh on premise but I was told that everything is pre-made. They won't last long in this area. It's not the cheapest lunch in town, but for $10+, you get a lot of food. I would like to say it's enough to have leftovers, but I usually manage to clean my plate. The lunch special includes your choice of 3 - I always go with a soup (tomato basil is fantastic), salad (beet and blue - my go-to on any menu) and sandwich (panini of the day, caprese, chicken salad - they're all good). The line can be long at peak workday lunch hours but it moves pretty quickly. I try and get there a little early and take mine to go. This was my first time in Breadwinners. I had it before when friend/family got take out and really liked the food. I will also preface this by saying the sandwich (Turkey Ruben) was amazing. Really really amazing! Great job with the food....However, I have a problem with the system inside this restaurant and I feel like this is an easily fixable problem.... You need prices listed and/or you need to tell the customer what their total is before running their credit card. There is no pricing on any menu or next to the items you're ordering. What bothered me was I looked at the yelp reviews and noticed one reviewer who stated he didn't know he was paying $16 until after he had paid. I assumed this was an anomaly, however, pretty much the same thing happened to me. My card was charged without them telling me how much anything was, nor did I receive a receipt. I asked how much it was, and they said $13.50. The only price in the entire restaurant was $10 for the 'special,' a 1/2 sandwich, soup, and side. I don't care that it cost $13.50, but please, for your customers sake, to meet simple expectations, please work on putting prices out for each item, or make a big sign with prices (a la carte pricing), and/or please tell your employees to inform the customer of the total before cashing out and/or please give the customer a receipt or ask if they would like one. I will try again, one day, but please take this review seriously. Your food is good... don't lose customers because of some silly process that can be improved. read more

i dined here on a friday afternoon with two coworkers. we arrived around 12pm and the line was already long. we thought it would take forever to get through but the line moved very quickly. i love how there is so much variety here and everything is fresh and healthy. i ordered the white bean chili, the kale salad and the broccoli salad. all were delicious. i am normally not a big kale person but the kale salad was great! my coworkers enjoyed their food as well - the turkey chili, beet salad & California wrap. this place is hoping during lunch time, but it's because it's so good and so healthy. the only downside is parking is hard to find. other than that, i would highly recommend this restaurant. i will definitely be back! read more

My SO loves this place for lunch and I got to try it for the first time today. I tried two things - the chicken pesto panini and the turkey wrap. The chicken pesto was delicious but it's hard for me to meet a chicken pesto sandwich I don't like. It's one of my favorite flavor combinations. I could eat 10 of these - they were so good. The turkey wrap was not good, unfortunately. I'm not sure if one of the ingredients was bad but I ended up deconstructing it so I could eat the turkey. I think it may have been the sprouts or the avocado (I very much like both). They have a wide variety of baked goods and if I wasn't dieting, I would have tried several! I bet they have a lot of great choices, but unfortunately the wrap just didn't work. read more

I love the freshly baked breads, the loaf is always dense but soft and very moist and flavorful. My only wish is that they were cheaper, it's a little tough to indulge in them at $15 a pop. I really like the pumpkin loaf (Party at My Place Pumpkin) I bought the last time I was here. It's got a punch of pumpkin flavor with subtle spices and it made a pretty awesome breakfast for me all week. I love the decor here, and I would love to come back to try the $10 lunch specials I saw advertised. This place is def. going on my list. I'd love to come back for a sit down meal. read more

A friend and I met for lunch here today @ 12:30 and it was CUH-RAY-ZEEE! This cafe is located in a shopping center in Sandy Springs. I would say it's about medium- not small but not huge. There are a few other eating places and some service places- like dry cleaners...There was no place to park. People were parking in the lot of a closed down Target across the street. The line for the cafe was coming out the door. The owner?/manager? had to keep ushering people to snake the line inside to preserve the ac on this warm day. Didn't work to well- it was pretty warm with all the people too...So as I understand it- this is a sandwich, soup and salad place. They make everything in house. There is a coldcase full of different homemade soups and few types of dips side salads ready to take home. The sandwiches look picturesque and delicious cut in halves stack on one another on pedestals behind glass on the main counter. I could have ordered a half of each to take with me. Instead I got the caprese half, beet and blue salad and penne pasta salad as part of the apparently infamous $10 lunch combo. The penne pasta was just another pasta salad- nothing exciting. The Caprese sandwich was delish- pesto, creamy mozz and tomato. And the mixed greens beet salad was okay. I would probably go for a whole caprese sandwich next time and skip the salads. . .While we were sitting and eating someone came around with a nice sized sample of their lemon poppy bread/cake. It was tasty. Overall- I would come back again for lunch when it's slower. It was a little too hectic at 12:30...But would be great for a soup and sandwich- maybe on a cooler day. I went here around 2pm on a Tuesday for the first time to pick up soup and sandwich. This place has a Souper Jenny setup- you pick from a list of sandwiches, salads and/or soups. But, it's much pricier than Souper Jenny's, food doesn't seem as fresh, and the menu doesn't change much. You can get a cup of soup, 1/2 sandwich, cookie & drink at Souper Jenny for $13. Here, I paid almost $20 for soup, 1/2 sandwich and side quinoa salad, a coffee and one cookie. For an order-at-the counter, that seemed so high! I ordered the caprese sandwich grilled. It was put on the panini press, but that sandwich was likely made hours earlier and sitting in the fridge, so needed more than one round on the press as the cheese wasn't even slightly melted. The quinoa salad was completely tasteless. I saved it for the next day and added garlic, fresh spinach and chili pepper- then it was quite tasty! I had the daily special soup, the only feature that seems to change daily, which was Tunisian vegetable. That was delicious!! Great flavor and lots of veggies. Overall, portions are generous here, food is average & prices are on the high side. Oh, and the coffee was terrible. Bitter and weak. I just tossed it out. I'm gonna mark that up to the fact that it was late in the day and that pot was made at 9am. Their coffee is likely just fine if you go in the morning. But stay away after noon!! read more

Their new location is very cool. It's got exposed brick and a nice seating area to sample coffees and try out their fantastic bread. From other recommendations we got the Pumpkin, peach, and Cranberry bread. All of which were fantastic. I had a sweet tooth that day like most and ended up getting all their dessert like stuff. Next time i need to sample their savory selections. I've heard their soups and sandwiches are awesome so I will definitely be making a stop here again. read more

A good place relatively close to my work for grabbing lunch to go. I usually get their soups. They taste homemade and get rotated often due to the high rate of customers here. Their sandwiches are also better than most of these types of cafes/bistros. The banana bread is great, though still not good as most homemade. Sorry for the bland review, but not much sticks out about this place, but middle to old aged white women seem to LOVE it. Perhaps that's why this place can charge so damn much for soup- it's very overpriced, but maybe the rent is too damn high... read more

I've never had such a hard time picking out what I wanted to eat there were so many good options for sandwiches, soups, and salads. I settled on the Broccoli Salad and the Chicken Pesto Panini.
