A good take on breaking bad but all the takes on breaking bad are good... right? Welp I was watching a medieval film and heard the knights mentioning mead. So I decided to look up mead and to see if anyone in this modern era has mead and to my pleasant surprise, this place exist and it's the only one in town, way to corner the market. But seriously though, I came in with alot of questions and the owner/barkeep had plenty of answers. I tried literally everything on tap & left with a couple of cans to go. Great mead, great service, I wish there were more places like this but cheers to breaking brew!

First time having mead at a proper meadery and I am beyond very impressed If I could give 10 stars, I would!! Don't skip out on this place! Mead is now my favorite alcohol! Service is great and ambiance is perfect for small groups and playing board games!

I got a flight. My favorite was the root beer flavored mead. Service was friendly and genuine.

One of something like 5 meaderies (sp?) in Texas, I was pleasantly surprised this place was a couple miles From home. Low key, except Sunday's, when I discovered all the missing road traffic is here, Breaking Brew is a casual, friendly atmosphere with ZERO meta/metro/hipster arrogance...just good guys making good honey brews. Grab a flight the first time and give them a sample. If you find something you like, leave with a growler...these smaller batches may be out next time you're there! They also sell bottles and cans, so you'll be good there. If you like mead, definitely go. If you aren't sure, definitely give it a try. Ask questions..they are friendly and know their stuff. If you DON'T like mead, you haven't had the good stuff. Grocery store Mead is garbage and ok if heated and spiced/mulled for the holidays. Dare I say...it's the bee's knees? I know, horrible. FIVE STARS.

Wow! I have never had such a great and pleasurable experience at a business. Wonderful and friendly service, far beyond our expectations. We will come back again and again. The mead is fantastic, there wasn't one I wouldn't drink a second time. Went home with a jar of honey, a can of root bear and a smile! GLUTEN FREE too, you don't see that often!! Thank you!!

Yelp review - 2-24-23 Breaking Brew Meadery is a family-owned mead taproom located in Farmers Branch, TX. They produce and serve a variety of session style meads, which are served cold and carbonated from their taps. They also rotate in traditional style meads as well. Go check it out for a refreshing drink at the bar, or take home a bottle, growler or crowler. My friend, Michelle, and I actually had a Groupon for two flights, which are 4 three ounce pours. Their meads are excellent, and Brian was very knowledgeable. He helped us make selections and entertained us during our stay. My favorite was raspberry beret and the magician. Bryan was working on a coffee mead that was fantastic and gave us a little sample to try. Say hi to Bryan and tell him Peggy sent you for extra Love. Go check out trivia night on Wednesdays or dungeons and dragons live play on Sundays. They also have a selection of board games that you can play while you're there. It's great to hang out with friends or an interesting first date!

If you have never tried meads before, this is the place to get your first and learn more about the process and how meads got their taste. They offer 4 more than enough pours for $10 for newbie's like me. The pours are actually big enough to share with another person to decide what flavors you'd like to order next. Mead is fermented from honey which creates a smooth clean taste and its gluten free! The taste to me is in between beer and cider. Not a whole lot or carbonation and not very tart like cider. It's a perfect balance. It was 30 minutes because closing when we stopped in. We mentioned that we've never had it and the owner happily entertained us and answered all the questions we had. Breaking Brew Meadery is the first meadery here in Dallas. You should give them a visit to welcome a new type of drink for us, "drinkies" to enjoy. P.s. they have growlers and cans to-go!!

Eh. I wasn't really impressed with this place, maybe I was expecting more as it's the only Meadery around town. I went with a flight so I could try a range of meads. I was kinda disappointed as they only do session meads rather than traditional meads, I mean aren't they just making ciders ?!? Anyway I can't remember exactly what I got on my flight but I wouldn't order any of them again, one was soo bad, I had to leave it, tasted of vinegar. The only real positive I had, is stickers were free. Sorry Breaking Brew, I really wanted to like you. I like your logo though...

This please totally surprised me. Hidden away in a slow moving shopping mall all the way at the back, you wouldn't think it would be so lively inside. Plenty of people sitting at the bar, sipping away at their meads while people play board games to my left. Not to mention the variety of options had something for everyone. I'm more of a classic mead person and their Black Betty definitely came through.

Flight 4 different kinds of meads :)

We came to this place for our friend's birthday. Right when we came in they welcomed us and it felt very homey and relaxing. They have games you can play while drinking. The mead is very good and prices are affordable . It's worth trying all the different kinds of meads they have. Our favorites were the magician and texas sweed. Definitely get a flight that way you can try 4 different kinds. The people there are very sweet and they attended all our needs. Recommend this place especially to chill with friends or any celebrations.

Come to find out - this place is actually the "Bishop Arts Winery," and only opened up a restaurant a couple months ago! We arrived at 7, and we were the only guests there for an hour as the musician set up to play. By the time 8:15 rolled around, the music was in full swing and the 7-10 tables were all occupied by old couples, groups of friends, and even a family with 3 young kids! Although the space itself is small, it wasn't claustrophobic at all - it was homey and nice. Not too loud either. The ambience was very romantic; I loved the interior decorations that made it feel like little Italy and home all at the same time. Now for food - they bring out hot, Parmesan dusted bread as you order and wait for your food...mmmmm. We got the BAW Cabernet Sauvignon by the bottle (24.99) and she let us know that it would be $8 per glass, so it's a bit cheaper to go for the bottle. We had heard good things about the cheese board, so we got a small. Perfect appetizer: at least 6 different tastes of cheeses, salami, different spreads and jams and crackers. Loved it, perfect for 2 people. Our waitress also inspired us to get this fried artichoke/crab meat ball...sounds weird but it was SO GOOD!!!!! Show stealer for sure. I got the classic spaghetti marinara, and Trip got the Bolognese lasagna. Both were impeccable, we are every bite - and the portions were generous but not excessive! Our service was awesome - it felt like they had at least 3 people circulating the small room to make sure everyone was taken care of. Wonderful experience and can't wait to go back!!!

The Texas Tempranillo stood out with its depth and character, and the Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon was a clear favorite--bold, smooth, and well-balanced. I've also heard that Barons Creek hosts themed events, which adds another layer of appeal. The idea of pairing their wines with a fun or seasonal theme sounds like a great way to experience the tasting room. Our evening started with a cocktail hour, during which we got to meet other guests over a glass of Roots & Water cabernet. We loved the cab - light and elegant. Once we were seated, we started with a glass of champagne with east coast oysters. For each course, one of the chefs came out to explain the dish and the inspiration behind it. Chef Adrien explained to us that he and Mollie had curated a menu of aphrodisiacs for Valentine's, and the oyster was prepared in a way that brought out ocean feels. We definitely tasted, felt the ocean waves with the soft red beet foam atop the oyster! Our favorite course of the menu was the soup/pasta dish - fideo noodles with tomato saffron brodo, generous pieces of lobster, and crispy leeks. I'm usually not a fan of tomato-based sauces, but this soup was SO delicious! Not too salty, not too powerful in taste, just right. The noodles were done al dente, with a slightly firm texture in every bite. And the lobster pieces were so soft! We devoured every bite of the entire meal, but we ultimately agreed this course stood out the most! The main was definitely a hit, too! It was braised Texas wagyu with root veg puree, herb emulsion, mushroom, and lots of truffle! We loved the strong flavors of the wagyu paired with the puree - so soft, so fluffy, subtle in taste. And the red that went with it *chef's kiss* We were also impressed with the potato dish - ambrosia fingerling potato with duck fat, burnt crema on top with caviar, ikura, trout roe. Who woulda thought caviar and roe go well with potato! And the crema to balance out all the flavors. We liked how the potato was sliced into perfectly thin pieces for each bite. For the dessert, the panna cotta was paired with a white wine, which we appreciated, as we're not big fans of port/dessert wines. We liked the balance in flavors with the sweet-citrusy taste of the panna cotta and the refreshing white. All in all, I could feel every ounce of attention and love poured into every dish, and we were very, very happy campers by the end of our dinner experience. Thank you to Roots & Water for hosting, as well as the chefs and sommeliers for curating an all-around beautiful experience. We hope to be back soon for some wine tastings!

First let me say that April is their peak time (because it's blue bonnet season and folks are out and about) so they charge a fee to park. We arrived near closing time yet they were kind enough to welcome us in and allow us to look around. We also decided to grab a glass of wine while we walked around looking. I will honestly say that I am NOT a wine snob, I couldn't tell ya a good glass from a bad glass but I don't like dry and I don't usually like reds. With that said I was given some suggestions and for what it's worth, I'd drink it again. We were offered to purchase some cheesecake but without seeing what I was getting and told $11, I passed on it. I will say that the souvenir "glass" that I paid for was disappointing, come to find out it's a plastic cup, however I was told it "floats in the pool" but I'll never know because I don't own a pool to sip and float in. So most the folks out in the yard were wine tasting and seemed to be enjoying what they had. I had one couple who actually went down the list letting me know what their favorites were and why (I took notes). This is a cute little spot off the beaten path. I must say that I'm thankful for a restroom but I'm never a fan of portable potty's and unfortunately this was the only option at the time. If I'm out this way again, I'll make a stop and try a wine flight to see if the other wines live up to the hype.
