I started doing Tai Chi at the CMAA about a month and a half ago, and I've loved it. The instructors, both Master Geller and Master Jiang are great to work with. They look at Tai Chi from different angles, and the varying perspectives on the spiritual and practical sides of Tai Chi make for a clearer picture. The movements are hard, you exert yourself, but they're also very relaxing. My mind is always clearer after class. I haven't taken part in the Kung Fu classes, but from what I've seen before the Tai Chi classes, Master Geller is a very good teacher. My participation in Tai Chi and Qi Gong started in my sixties. This school provides me with a way to improve stamina, balance and relaxation. When I was younger, I always wanted to try martial arts, but couldn't find a good place to train. When I was 8, I joined CMAA and have stuck with it since. One of the best things about it is that it isn't only for a certain age. It doesn't matter how old you are, you can come to class, and just have a great time training and seeing your kung fu brothers and sisters. Everyone is just part of one big kung fu family. Absolutely perfect! Sifu lucas really gets you involved and sets a tone that just makes everything feel like its all about you (the student/individual). The way he explains everything is on point. I did things the first day there I didnt know i even had a chance at learning to do! Really is helping my son who needs help with his balance and strength. And he likes it enough to put down his electronic devices. All of the more advanced students help the less advanced ones, showing proper technique and form. Master Lucas mixes up the classes enough to keep him interested, and is a great role model.
