I'm not typically one to leave negative reviews (just check my history), and it disappoints me to have to write this one. Despite some of the negative reviews I read about Breathe Fresh, I decided to hire them because most of the bad reviews were not that recent. I spoke with Bobby on the phone and he gave me a quote to clean our air ducts, fireplace and chimney. The next day I texted him to schedule the service and at the end he asked me to text him the address and the price he quoted me. I thought that was strange. Even more strange is that I was asked again the day of by Jon, who actually did the service, as he didn't know what the quoted price was either. Furthermore, Jon also had to ask me what service was being performed. Jon was great! He explained everything as he was doing it and showed me some before and after photos. The one knock on the actual service is that Jon left all of our vents closed, which I did not discover until a couple days later when I realized that the heater was running more often and for longer than usual. I didn't expect this because he ran the fan for almost 20 minutes before leaving to "get the air circulating." Not sure much was circulating though given the closed vents, but that's not the reason for the 2-star review. Keep reading... The first fire I burned in the fireplace after the cleaning resulted in a smokey odor in the house the next day. It was fine while the fire was burning, and I'm certain the damper was open, so I don't believe this to be an error on my part. I'm not claiming it has anything to do with the work that Jon did (or didn't do), but I contacted Bobby to share this info with the hopes that they'd come out to investigate. It had been a week since I burned a fire, but the odor didn't diminish despite the damper being closed and windows being opened during the day. Instead, I developed a cough and my eyes burned. I explained this to Bobby in my communication with him, but it didn't spark any urgency on his end. The timeline of our communication was as follows: Tue 12/12 @ 12:55 pm: I texted Bobby informing him of odor and asking for a good time to chat on the phone. Wed 12/13 @ 9:10 am: I called and left a message for Bobby since I got no response to my previous day's text. Wed 12/13 @ 5:49 pm: Bobby calls and leaves a voicemail, apologizes for missing my call earlier, and says to call him back or text for a faster response. I was at a holiday party, so was unable to answer or respond that evening. Thu 12/14 @ 10:15 am: I text Bobby (as instructed by his voicemail) and gave him a couple time slots in which I'd be available for a call that day. It is now 5:54 pm on Fri 12/15 and I still have not heard back from Bobby. Unfortunately I've had to hire another company to come out and investigate the potential causes for the odor, and I regret having hired Breathe Fresh in the first place. Based on reviews, it appears that Breathe Fresh does great work most of the time. In this instance, I'm discouraged by the lack of follow-through and the apparent disregard for quality customer service. read more

I had Bobby and Travis out to clean the air ducts in my home. They were professional and fair in pricing. I felt they did a thorough job and showed me before and after pictures. I was skeptical about having the air ducts cleaned because you hear about all sorts of nightmares. After talking to Bobby and getting a rough estimate via the phone and hearing what and how he does the cleaning I went ahead and scheduled. They took their time and took care with my furniture, etc. and it cost less than the original estimate. I would recommend Breath Fresh to anyone looking to clean the air you breath every day. read more

The team made two courtesy calls before arriving, that was a major plus, as the last people I hired wouldn't even call me back. Once they arrived and checked out the place, then things got a little odd. The guys that showed up did not have any information of the price that I had worked out with the owner. Then it seemed that all the extra little carrying, also had a charge. Granted the unit is on the second floor and the back of the complex, but hearing the guys try to nickel and dime every little decision. Then the price would fluctuate. On the phone I had requested to have my laundry duct cleaned, but I had to ask the guys that showed up a second time, as they weren't sure if I wanted it or not. I kept asking myself, why did I even talk to the guy on the phone if the information was not going to be shared. During, the cleaning of the laundry one person told me it was an extra charge. But during the course of talking to the two guys, I got two extremely different prices. The actual cleaning of the ventilation and the laundry vents were cleaned really well. They were very competent in their cleaning of the vents. But they did leave debris out side the home where their equipment was. I would say, next time I would like to have an exact price, rather than having the guys show up and start to change the last conversation. read more

I hired Breathe Fresh to fix and clean my fireplace/chimney. Charged me $75 to inspect my chimney and tell me it would be $650 to fix. This 'inspection' took 8 minutes and could have been done by a 5 year old. I asked to be refunded $25 since the inspection was so short, to which they agreed. It's been a couple months now with no refund (I'm not surprised by this at all). They were extremely rude as well. I was able to fix the chimney the following weekend for $175 in materials. I'm a regular guy with no construction experience... stay far away from this company. read more

After tile floor demo and installation of hardwood we had to get our ducts cleaned to eliminate all the dust in the ventilation. We saw that Breathe Fresh had good ratings, and their prices were competitive, and so, we gave them a call. We are happy we did. Bobby came to clean our ducts and he was very nice and knew his business. Lots of hustle out of Bobby and he was careful with the furniture around our registers. I've had our ducts cleaned a couple of times, by different companies, but I do not remember them being as thorough as Bobby. Bobby started upstairs, worked each register and ducting, then moved to the main floor, and then ended up in basement, all while having the huge vacuum pulling all the dust out. We also had him spray the anti-microbial/deodorizer spray in our ducting. The price quoted was what I paid, no up-charging attempts at all, which I've seen from other companies. We are very happy with the outcome and will be calling these folks again in the future. read more

I used this company for a minor fireplace repare and chinmy cleaning. Had some issues with communication because while was good through the yelp app it was nonexistent through phone or text. Guys that did the work were friendly and helpful but were not told details or work before arriving at house. His let to part of job not being completed on 1st visit though once error was brought to owners attention a 2nd visit corrected issue. Overall I would use company again as long as I could be there to oversee all details. read more

These guys were very accommodating, did a great job in getting my pot belly gas fireplace going. They were detailed orientated and willing to show me what was going on with the unit. They were competent, professional and just plain pleasant guys to have working in my home. read more

This is a fabulous company! I had SO many problems trying to find a company that would clean our air ducts out at my office. Many didn't show up or even send the quote. I hired Bobby for my new 100 year old house. I had no idea if the system needed to be cleaned but I wanted to get everything checked before I moved in. Before Bobby came over he gave me a full description of what to expect for costs and what could potentially cost more. I'm very pleased with the service I received. He showed me exactly what needed to be done and showed me the difference after he finished his work. Gotta give Breathe Fresh all 5 stars!! Requested a quote through Home Advisor and Bobby responded quickly with a very reasonable quote. Bobby and Jon were absolutely the best! The job ran longer than expected as they discovered the system had never been cleaned (YUCK). They worked until it was all clean and did not increase the price even though they certainly could have. They took care to cover items that might receive dust and cleaned up when they were done. They came out in August, but the whole ordeal and overall experience left me feeling weird about it. I was definitely torn about writing this review, because the technician who came out to do the job was nice about it. He did a fine job, but the whole experience still bothers me. They messed up big time. Guy was late, didn't bring an extra person to do the job with him. Had to reschedule. Lots of unprofessional things were said. Guy blamed the person who initially booked the job. Said she was terrible at her job and the company was planning on firing her. I called the company and asked to speak with a manager. The woman I spoke to on the phone gave me a couple of numbers and said there were several owners of the business so one of them would eventually get back to me. That same day I did manage to get a hold of someone who could address our concerns. He apologized profusely and asked what they could do to make it up. I told him we would accept whatever he thought was appropriate. I also emphasized that my boyfriend had taken a day off already and was going to have to take another one on short notice. I get that they're a small local business and I wanted to give them a second chance. Fine. Bobby eventually came out to get the job done. Bobby was really friendly and did a a thorough job. He was really cool about the whole thing, but.... I am going to be nit-picky because they were given the opportunity to earn our business after the first hiccup: A few screws were lost from the units; one inside the home and one outside. We had to go to Home Depot to replace them. Seriously?... The boyfriend took not one BUT two days off because these people couldn't get it together. I understand stuff happens, but if you are given this second chance then the quality of the job should be immaculate. I came home to my boyfriend lugging around heavy industrial equipment for this guy because it was a TWO PERSON job as the initial technician determined. I'm sorry, but is that even legal? I foresee many potential lawsuits. And charging us $400 is what the owners think is appropriate compensation. For $400, my boyfriend took not one BUT two days off from his job to do manual labor that he hired someone else to do. I don't want to even know what it would have cost us had the owners not "made it up" to us. Might I add that we live in a 1000 sq. ft condo on the first floor. I've talked to a lot of other people about this and was told by many that it should've cost us $250 at most WITHOUT the discount. I thought we might have been charged way more because the vents hadn't been cleaned out in a few years, but after much research and asking around I have found that these people basically ripped us off even after giving us a "discount". Ridiculous. Just take your business elsewhere. The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

I'll be using this team again. I had my ductwork cleaned 3 years ago when we bought our lil' fixer-upper. Yet, when I went to hand-clean my ducts this autumn, was shocked at what my latex gloves were running into. BLECH! I learned if you spend that $85 in your mail coupons for duct cleaning, you'll really what what you pay for. I was pleased that the Breathe Fresh tech had enough experience to speak to the gotcha's *and* what other firms may slack on. It explained alot. He took pictures inside the ducts to show me 'before' and 'after.' I really liked that. Also, when he arrived I learned they clean chimneys, too; mine was long overdue. He did this upon request, same visit, at a small discount! I found this firm to cost half of what others do. Most quotes came in at $500-550 for my mid-sized home. (I called for a lot of quotes!) This cost me about half of those others. That's a great deal in this market. Every dollar is so worth it. Our air smells great when the furnace comes on now. read more

I was very pleased with the service provided by this company. David did the service and he was very nice, professional and seemed to really know what he was doing. He was respectful and laid down tarps in the house and took off his shoes. He explained the whole process to me and showed me before and after pictures. It was disgusting what came out of the ducts. I only wish I had done this sooner! I highly recommend everyone getting their ducts cleaned. When you see what you've been breathing in you will be horrified. David sealed off all vents so there was little mess. He also shop vacuumed every vent so the vents were cleaned all the way through. Bobby and Travis were thorough and professional. They could have easily cleaned the ducts and called it a day but they worked hard to hammer out cement from our vents. I guess the cement had gotten poured into the vents when the previous owner had leveled the floors before putting in tiles in the bathroom and new flooring in the living room and bedroom. Bobby took the time to chisel out the cement. He could have left it there and I would have been none the wiser. They are honest, hard working, and friendly. Their price was the best for the quality of work and we called a number of companies before choosing Breathe Fresh. read more

We had our chimney cleaned by them, and while the guy sent out was nice and seemed knowledgable, we ended up having our wood insert (that goes in front of the fireplace) removed and those guys said the throat was not cleaned in a long time and there was a ton of mess. I called and left messages about how we didn't get all our money paid for (I was going to ask for at least a partial refund) but they didn't return my calls. I'd go somewhere else. read more

I had researched many companies prior to contracting with Breathe Fresh. The owner was extremely informative and provided info and pricing in advance. I was told that a before and after picture of the vents would be provided; however, my husband said that it wasn't offered or provided at the time of service. He did feel that the person performing the work seem to be thorough and that he was confident the vents were clean. I would have given 5 stars if the proof of cleanliness was provided. I could have used a company with a coupon for half the price, but I wanted a company with a good reputation who could talk me through the process and costs up front. No hidden fees. read more

The men that came to clean my air ducts, dryer vent, and air conditioner were extremely unprofessional and messy. They refused to take off their shoes or wear booties in my home and tracked mud all over my carpet. When they cleaned my air conditioning unit on my front porch, they completely drenched a car carrier bag that I had sitting on my outdoor furniture. The men were so unaware that when the moved the furniture, they put the carrier bag on the ground and then proceeded to spray down my air conditioning unit splashing mud and debris into the carrier bag. Not only was the bag ruined but they also made about $50 in contents unusable. Clean Fresh refused to reimburse me for the carrier bag nor the contents. Then to top it all off, I had another contractor at my home working on installing my new dryer and he pulled out handfuls of dryer lint from my dryer vent which was supposed to be cleaned by Clean Fresh. When I confronted Bobby, the owner, about it he refused to respond or at least send his guys out to do the job correctly. DO NOT WORK WITH BREATHE FRESH. THEY WILL DO A HORRIBLE JOB AND RIP YOU OFF. read more

They cleaned my chimney quickly, took care to respect my property and not make a mess, and took photos of the top of the chimney which needs maintenance, to show me and explain what is needed. Bobby gave me some quotes on what the repairs would cost, but did not pressure me into any extra work. The work for this visit was done at the price we had discussed, and they were both pleasant and professional. I would recommend Breathe Fresh, and I would do business with them again. read more

I will never have Breathe Fresh Air Duct Cleaning do air duct cleaning for us again. They cut two large access holes in our supply and return ducts without specifically telling us they were going to do this. Other top rated companies that have cleaned our ducts previously were able to clean our ducts without having to do this. We now will need to have an HVAC company come out and install proper access panels on the holes they cut in the ducts, since all they did was just tape two sheet metal panels over the holes when they were finished and they keep falling off. In addition, we just had our whole house painted and when they were finished there were marks in many places on the walls where they dragged their hoses around. We had to have the paint company come back out and touch up everything. One last point. After they were finished with the duct cleaning the house had a terrible odder. It has taken 2 to 3 weeks for this to clear up completely. Again, none of the other companies we have used in the past caused this. read more
