I recently bought my first…read morehome and realized the ducts were caked with dirt had not been cleaned in years, and the dryer vent was 80% clogged. They went through the house, took before/after photos and explained everything being done in detail. The dryer vent was made out of the cheapest flexible aluminum material possible and they were upfront and transparent about the risks of a tear when cleaning it. Despite the risks they were able to get it done amazingly well. Also was having some furnace issues that Andrew was able to address and give me advice on. They also worked around our 2 crazy dogs plus myself and my partner working from home the whole time with ease. The air in here feels so much better now and just the peace of mind that I'm not breathing in 50 years of filth is priceless. I just got an email from Goodrich Chimney offering discounted services to get ready for fall. I…read morerealized I never wrote a review on the work I contracted with them to complete. Bought a house and the chimney was in disrepair. They suggested I put a sleeve in the chimney stack instead of repairing / replacing the bricks that could allow embers to gain access to other parts of the house. Could be a huge issue if the house were to burn right? The sleeve was inserted, but now the smoke from the fireplace would fill the room. When I asked for them to come and fix it, they just told me that I would have to start the fire directly in the middle of the fireplace. That didn't work, so I stopped using the fireplace for a bit of time. Later, I went to a different company. They did an inspection and noted several issues with the sleeve installed by Goodrich. Once you see the photos below, it makes complete sense why the smoke was coming back into the house! Why didn't they cut the excess length off the sleeve and allow the smoke to draft completely. Even so, the diameter of the sleeve was also questionable - so everything they did was just money down the drain. I absolutely cannot recommend this company and wish I had read Yelp before hiring them.
