The best snowball ice desserts! Delicious and amazing! I first had Breezy Freeze at a birthday party earlier this year and fell in love with the tastefulness of all the flavors. You can actually taste flavor and that's always a plus. I recently found out they had a pop up in Granada Hills and so I took my son and my friend with her daughter. They are completely safe and followed all New Covid Regulations. Contactless payments and very clean and sanitized environment. This is a unbiased review! Even after the fact that Michael hooked me up with a watermelon breezy snow! I saw them set up on the street not knowing they were catering for a private event and he hooked me up. This is pretty different from Raspado and Hawaiian shaved ice because the ice is actually soft! Let's get the big negative out of the way first. Michael the truck owner is a fan of the evil Texas Rangers. And he wears a cap from the even more evil New York Yankees. But in spite of the customer repellent on the top of his head, he has somehow managed to make the best Hawaiian Shave Ice (even though he prefers to call it a Snowball) and sell it for the way too cheap price of $3.00 a serving. And he does it from, a tiny little rural postal truck conversion with a shave ice er I mean snowball machine in the back that cost him three times what he paid for the truck. I met him today @ Devonshire and Mason in Chatsworth, which is becoming a popular food truck spot on Saturday late afternoon and evenings. As we spoke, he made me a cherry/tigers blood/pina colada shave ice. It was darn near perfect. Breezy Freeze uses top notch syrups and the Sweet Cream (which I had him add) and the Sour Spray (that I declined) are both included for free. He showed me the features of the truck, especially the diesel freezer that includes enough cakes of ice to last the day. As I was snapping some truck pictures, I mentioned that I actually forgot to take a picture of my cherry/tigers blood/pina colada snowball; so he offered to comp me with a 2nd one. I went with mango/coconut/passion fruit, and while the orange/white/yellow wasn't as photogenic as the first one, I actually enjoyed it even more. The 5-star rating is for the first one though. I went to a food truck event recently where there were a large variety of options to choose from.. I had this lobster roll from one truck, a spicy tuna burrito from another place, and for dessert I visited the Breezy Freeze Snowball Food Truck. First let me start off by saying that the truck itself was really cool. You have these monster food trucks that are the bullies of the industry, and then there is this little 'food truck that could' sandwiched in between them all: This retro style cool blue truck run by two guys, their names are Andrew and Mike (nice guys). It was pretty cool to watch them make these snowballs because they just pack them with a ton of snow, it was a cool concept and they were cranking these things out. I ended up getting a berry and cream, which was just amazing! I was hesitant that they put cream on top of the snowball (not a snow cone), however it was just the perfect dessert without filling me up. I wanted to come on here and give the guys props for having a cool website and they seem to be really busy this summer in the Breezy Freeze food truck. Been a huge fan from the first time I encountered them at the first Din Din a Go Go in Northridge. There are a lot of different trucks that make sno-cones and other frozen desserts. Some of them are pretty good. Some aren't. NONE of them are Breezy Freeze. All of their syrups are natural...and bursting with flavor. I gotta say, While I'll normally complain about an influx of similar food trucks, I can't say a single bad word about the crazy amount of Hawaiian shaved ice establishments popping up. They're more than a welcome addition to the crowd. Especially when this one comes in packing in at a much smaller size. So it's not like it's a full truck taking up that much space. Though, don't let the small size fool you, they are packing some major flavor punch in the form of shaved ice snowballs. But much like a few others, I didn't like the notion of a wooden spoon. It does take me back to a nostalgic place of my childhood with those really shitty pre-packaged ice cream cups you got at school, it just doesn't help the flavor when you feel wood in your mouth. Maybe I could put a "that's what she said" after that last paragraph. Anyhow, the price tag of the shaved ice here is really cheap. It's pocket change really, and that's why this joint gets high marks. It's cheap and its good and during summer it will be god damn popular. The fact that they smash down the ice also is a throw back to the days when I would buy raspados off the street. Basically they would pack it down to make it into a ball, so it doesn't bother me at all that it's not light and fluffy. The truck has a lot of flavors to choose from and so you'll be able to choose your own snowball adventure in all of this. Then if you like it sour, you can go all out. And if you like it sweet, well then, do you have some sweet cream to ask for. Both of which are free of charge. Over all, this truck is a welcome addition to the food truck scene and I'm sure will get a lot of popularity in these hot months to come. read more

Allow me to tell you the story of how I discovered Breezy Freeze LA Snowball Truck. It's HOT day in the San Fernando Valley a day before my surgery so I know I won't be able to go out and get some good grub. I decide to go get dinner in Sherman Oaks where there is a few food trucks parked. I got my din din from Aloha Friday Truck ( check out my review 4 Aloha truck) and as I'm making my way back to the car I see Breezy Freeze LA truck. So I slow down and read their long list of flavors. They even have a tigers blood flavor "WINNING"!!! I made the choice of going with Blue Vanilla with condensed milk. The blue vanilla tastes just like Vanilla and the blue in it only pertains to the color not the flavor. Then they inject the snowball with the condensed milk in different parts of the dessert and top it with more milk. It was DELIGHTFUL!!! All I know is that I'm glad I stumbled upon Breezy Freezy L.A. By far the best snowball truck I've encountered. I've attended parties with Breezy Freeze present, and the crew brings such a tangible, fun energy. The service was incredible. Andrew and Mike are so sweet and engaging. You can tell they work hard and genuinely care about their customers. This is one of the best looking trucks around, I'll give em that. it has a nice retro vibe, and its diminutive stature compliments the Good Humoriness of the summertime shave ice treat. I've seen the guys fill in at spots where some other shave ice trucks cant get to, so it's nice to have a back-up ice truck in the area. Their prices are right on at 3 bucks, and they have a nice selection of flavors-some familiar, some not. You can choose up to 2 syrup squirts per serving. But as good as they looked, it didn't quite taste as good as it looked. When you try something new, sometimes you swing and miss. We had a scatter shot of flavors: Tigers Blood and lychee on one, and Green Apple on the other, both with sweet cream. Tigers Blood was as good as anywhere else. But the Lychee had a mild potpourri current coursing through it. Lychee fruit can taste a lil rosy sometimes, but today it was a little strong. Green Apple was very Jolly Ranchery, if thats what you're in to. The problem I think was the sweet cream addition. While it was sweet, it also lent a sour fermented undertone. I dunno if its the flavor itself, or it had gone bad, but I would have passed had I known it was gonna funkify the whole bowl. I'm gonna chalk this up to a fluke mostly. They have a nice little operation goin, and there's no reason they can't be awesome. I'm just gonna need some space before I go back in for a second attempt. read more

Unlike other shaved ice places/trucks, Breezy Freeze Snowball injects the condensed milk into the middle of the shaved ice, so it freezes and becomes icy! Not the rock-hard, crunchy bits you get at the OC Fair, etc. And the flavors...??!! SO MANY!! And all SO GOOD!! He sets up a red canopy with a little white picket fence in front, which is where he and Kevin serve up the shaved-ice-goodness. Music...? They provide it! I can't say enough good things about Breezy Freeze! I came across this truck on yelp while looking for something to do to celebrate my 5 year old sons birthday that would be a covid safe option. Mike, the owner, made sure he wore a mask, gloves, and had plenty of sanitizer available for the kids to apply before eating their shaved ice. He had fun music playing at the truck to add to the fun of choosing your own flavor(s) of shaved ice. Mike was wonderful with both the kids and the adults at our gathering. The kids loved the idea of picking their own flavors and getting to cool down with a small snowball fight that Mike suggested we add in to the mix after everyone had their tasty treat.
