After having a family dinner at Gabin Korean BBQ in this shopping center, we decided to stop by Anko for dessert. The owner recognized us right away and warmly greeted My Mom, saying how nice it was to see us again after such a long time. We used to be regulars here, so it was really nice to see her again. I think their taiyaki is the best in LA! They sell them in sets of 4 for $12. My Mom and my 2 brothers got the red bean-filled taiyaki and I got the Nutella and banana one, and it was absolutely delicious. The freshly baked taiyaki was so warm, and the melted chocolate Nutella inside was incredibly sweet and delicious. It was seriously so good! Every time I come here, the staff is always so friendly, and the taiyaki is always amazing. It's definitely one of my favorite dessert spots. This place used to be so popular that there would be a long line just to get taiyaki and bingsoo. There were still quite a lot of people here today, but we were able to order pretty quickly, and our taiyaki came out really fast too, which made me very happy. Back in the day, we would place our order and have to wait quite a while for the taiyaki to be ready. Today was definitely a much better experience!

There's a bingsoo place we LOVED in Dallas called "Wicked Snow" and this is the closest we've had to Wicked Snow. I enjoyed the texture of Anko's bingsoo more than other places I've tried. We got 3 flavors: strawberry mascarpone, mango & hojicha. I usually love anything mango flavored but surprisingly I enjoyed the strawberry one the most! - it tasted very natural/not artificial. I could have eaten the whole thing myself. I still enjoyed the mango as well but this one actually tasted a big more artificial, but the fresh mango was perfectly ripe & added a good amount of sweetness. Hojicha was good too but definitely more "nutty" - still great if you don't want anything fruity! Staff were nice and even tho there was a bit of a wait for the desserts, it didn't take too long for them to come out. We surprisingly got lucky with street parking but they also have valet parking available. Will 100% be back and trying the taiyaki next time!

I originally wanted to try the mango sticky rice flavored shaved ice because it looked really good in the photos, but unfortunately they didn't have it today. I'd come back to try their shaved ice when mango is in season again!
