I ordered some takeout from this sports bar. Nothing fancy just some sliders and A hot dog. The sliders came with melted cheese and some caramelized onions on martin potato rolls. They were okay but way too much bread for the size of the patty. The quarter pound all beef hot dog comes with one side.I chose tater tots. The hot dog was grilled and had a nice flavor to it.And the tater tots taste just like tater tots. The bartender was very friendly and grabbed my order for me.While she was waiting on several patrons. Overall, I would definitely try his place again. read more

Tried this neighborhood bar for the first time on a Thursday around happy hour time. I was meeting a group of people, but I arrived first and found a table. The server approached me once asking me if I wanted to drink, I said water and also a menu, and after she dropped off the water, she didn't come back for a long time. When my friends arrived, it was similar service, they had to go to the bar to order their drinks. There was another bartender that two of my friends knew who came to help out and he was very personable and more attentive to our needs. The place had live music which was nice and it seemed like a lot of people knew each other, which is a nice thing to see (a real neighborhood type of bar). They had darts and pool tables. I ordered fish and chips. I heard they were very good. The dish was good but not great. My friends who come here a lot, said they have really good food, so I will take their word for it and maybe try again in the future. read more

Ok - I LOVE THIS PLACE. From the food to the patrons to the BARTENDERS! Can we please just give a round of applause to the bartenders here - all of them - exceptional people, care about the patrons, want you to have a fun place to hang out. THE FOOD. I've never been somewhere where I order a different thing on the menu every time. Normally I find my couple of things I prefer, and stick to those. I'm trying everything on the menu because everything has been so good! The cheesesteak - top 3 favorites I've ever tried - I add jalapeños to mine ... amazing! They also do amazing lunch deals and the chicken philly is an option! THE PIZZA???? Don't even get me started... this pizza is THIN & CRISPY to literal perfection. Go crazy with the toppings. It's SO GOOD. Chicken tenders - humongous and delicious! Even their salads are fantastic. I also cannot forget to mention the pretzel sticks and cheese... I'm not sure what cheese they use, but I could drink it! I was happy to find Brendan's 1/2 block from my hotel, given that it was Super Bowl Sunday! Evidentially a popular spot with screens everywhere you look. The prices are generally very reasonable: $5 for a generous pour of the house cab (Copper Ridge) put a smile on my face, literally and figuratively. I docked one star because I thought the burger I was served was ridiculously huge (allegedly 10 oz). It overpowered the bun in size and with its juice/grease drippings. It was a mess after a couple of bites and I couldn't even come close to finishing it. I would have much preferred at least the option of a smaller burger, not only for the above reasons, but also to shave a bit off the price since I could only eat half of my $15 burger. Your typical dive bar. I'd only really been late at night (they stay open late) but the other day a friend asked me to meet him for happy hour. Felt weird to be there so early in the day. It's pretty dark in there so you'll have a little time blindness. Drinks are affordable, which is nice. I ordered the shrimp tacos. They were kind of hard to eat bc the shells were soggy and falling apart. I wouldn't order those again for that reason but they tasted okay. Nothing too special. I'll probably stick to this being a last spot for a drink at the end of the night when I'm in pompano kind of place, which is great, everything has its purpose! read more

This was a surprise. I'd read about their lunch specials here and we came to try them. It turned out to be very good. This is a sports bar right on the east side of US 1 and south of Atlantic Boulevard/north of McNab. There's parking along side and behind the building. It's much larger inside than it appears. There's bar seating and high tops. Pool tables. Lots of big screen TVs all tuned to various sports stations. They have a regular menu that is fairly large, considering. If you're not offered the lunch specials menu -- which we weren't -- just ask for it. Or do what we did -- ask the people sitting next to you at the bar to pass down the one they have. There's a full liquor selection here as well as beer and wine. But we went with sodas. There was a mix of business folks and locals, so you wouldn't feel out of place if you're not drinking or if you're having a beer. I chose their hamburger. It comes with your choice of lettuce, tomato and onion. You can add cheese for a slight upgrade. And the 9 choices of an accompanying side range from slaw to steak fries. Really a lot of choices. I had their house made potato chips. It was a big meaty burger cooked to my preference. I only got tomato. And the house made chips were exactly as advertised. I liked them, but might try the sweet potato fries or tater tots next time. My husband had a tuna salad sandwich on rye with lettuce, tomato and onion and a bit of extra mayo. There was a lot of tuna on his sandwich. No skimping here. His steak fries were just ok. The lunch specials are offered Monday though Friday. And you need to order a drink -- but it can be any kind. They are well worth the money. A bargain in fact -- which is not easy to find these days. If you don't mind a bar atmosphere, check them out for lunch some time. read more

Brendan's is a dive/sports bar a short walk away from the Hampton Inn. I was lucky to go during a Florida State - University of Miami football game. The bar scene was very active with a bunch of convivial locals. Brendan's has a very no-frills large, active bar with a zillion flat screen TVs. All of the tables were high tops. Annie, my waitress, was very nice and gave good advice, but was quite busy. The bus boy has helped fill the orders and refill drinks. The menu is typical sports bar/pub fare and rather extensive. I took Annie's advice and ordered the special full rack of ribs with french fries. The baby back ribs were really good. The fries were crisp. I washed them down with a couple of bargain priced glasses of goose Island IPA. Dinner was a total of $32 including a generous tip. This was a fun alternative to dining at an anonymous chain restaurant. Worth a visit. read more

I found Brendan's because i was looking for a middle ground to meet a buddy for lunch. They had a lot of good reviews and the menu looked simple but good. When you say "hole in the wall" this spot really hammers that home. When you walk up it looks like a warehouse with no windows on the front. As you walk through the door you see a bar right in front of you and tables/booths to the left and the right and tons of dart boards. It seems to be a NY bar with buffalo and Yankees stuff but also some cardinals stuff. As i usually do, i like to order a little bit of everything. I got buffalo wings, fried pickles, tater tots and as advertised "their at Louis style bar pie". Starting with the fried pickles. Thin cut crinkle pickle chips, thinly breaded and fried. Came with some ranch dipping sauce. I wasn't crazy about them. Thought the breading was a little bland and the ranch was a little watery. The wings were solid. Meaty, moist, crispy without being over cooked. Sauce was pretty standard but had good flavor and decent heat. Tots were good. Cooked perfectly, crispy, steaming, big basket. No complaints from the table. The clear winner, was the bar pie. This came out piping hot. It's a 14inch pie, thin crust, square cut, made with provel cheese. Each piece had the crisp you want from a thin crust, the flavor you want from the cheese and the balance between the sauce and the cheese. I would go back solely for this pie. Morgan was our server and she was basically running the entire restaurant. She was grabbing drinks, grabbing food, taking orders, being personal. I think the only thing she didn't do was run in the back and cook the food. While lunch took a little longer than i would've liked, Morgan really killed it with her ability to multitask and keep everything on track. read more

My family loves this place. It's your typical sports bar with T.Vs, dart boards and pool tables. The staff are super friendly and remember us every time. The fish and chips are spectacular here. Super hot and crispy batter and creamy flaky fish, served with coleslaw and fat steak fries. We also love the buffalo shrimp, which we order sauce on the side. My mom, dad, and myself wondered upon this sports pub last night after a 9 hour trip and the best server I've had (Mike) served us. He was such a doll and the food was so good, there was nothing we didn't like. He checked on us multiple times throughout the night and we ended the night so happy! We came back again tonight, but there was a party and we couldn't find a table so we were on our way back out the door when Mike remembered us and came and grabbed us before we left. He found us a table and again gave us great service. There was at least 50-75 people in this small pub but he made sure to check on us and make sure we were happy. There's not many places you get good service, good food, and a friendly face! Thank you mike for making our short trip before our cruise one to remember!
