When we first pulled up, the parking lot was nearly empty, and inside there were only a few people scattered around. My companion went straight to the restroom, so I found a seat at the bar. The first thing we were told was that the kitchen was already closed even though it was only 9 PM which was a bit disappointing since I was hungry. Since it's an Irish pub, they mainly serve beer and wine, so I ordered a Guinness followed by a light beer. Despite the slow start, the night turned out to be unexpectedly enjoyable. We ended up meeting some wonderful people from Italy, Poland, and Turkey. It was especially nice connecting with the gentleman from Turkey, as I had traveled there last year, and we had a great conversation about that experience. The same went for the gentleman from Italy. It was refreshing and easy to talk to everyone. Even after closing, we stayed outside for a while continuing our conversations. The atmosphere inside the pub had a classic Irish feel, very reminiscent of my time in Ireland years ago, with signed celebrity photos decorating the walls adding to its charm. Also money from various countries. The lady behind the bar was extremely friendly and attentive throughout the night, constantly checking in and making sure we were taken care of. It's been years since I last visited, but after this experience, I'll definitely be going back soon.

Just a solid neighborhood spot that still feels like it is holding on to classic gay bar culture.

Monday I had the Classic Burger ($6, Monday price). On Thursday I had the pulled pork sandwich ($14, Thursday price). The angus beef burger was delicious even though it was just slightly undercooked. It came with fries or coleslaw. I chose the slaw which was creamy and sweet. The burger size was large and juicy. The slaw portion was small. The burger was good and was served on a plain hamburger bun. I added American cheese for a dollar more. The pulled pork sandwich wasn't really served on a toasted Kaiser roll, it was on an untoasted plain hamburger bun. It came with fries, pickles, and coleslaw. The fries can use some work. They were quite average. The pork was delicious and piled high. It was drenched in barbecue sauce and was very tasty. The Pub is very clean and a server takes your order and brings everything to you. This was nice. At the bar next door you have to wait in line at the bar to order food, drinks, a refill, or close out your bill. Lots of waiting in line on a busy night, but not at The Pub. Drinks at The Pub are not too overly priced. They do have a happy hour which saves some cash. There is usually live music or drag shows at The Pub which can be fun. It can also get very loud. The menu is large and prices vary but the daily specials are economical.

Crunchy egg roll shell filled with hot ingredients that make your mouth water. For lunch i got the corned beef sliders. Came with three decent sized sliders with corned beef, cabbage slaw, Swiss cheese and Dijon mustard. They were delicious! Those came with a pile of steak fries, perfectly cooked. Couple all of that with the ice cold pints they kept flowing and this place just might be added to my lunch rotation!
