    Steak Fritas and Fries

I visited on Monday for the primary reason of it was the venue for the poker league tonight. The place doesn't seem to be in the safest of neighborhoods, but I didn't factor that into the score. I probably would have given 5 stars because the service, the pour of my drink, the price, and environment feel is top notch. Such a neat interior. I love playing pool and it was fire to see a pool table. I did not play though. So, I deduct 2 stars from 5 because the bar did not offer food. Kitchen was closed today. I strongly disagree with drinking without a source of food in your stomach. That's my opinion. Likely won't visit back mainly because it's out of my way, but this place has potential. ***I revisited this evening. I ordered steak fritas. The plate presentation and cook on the steak was great. The fries were underdone for certain, but had good seasoning on them. Steak was subpar in my opinion. Dipping sauce prepared on side was good. Overall, I'm keeping the rating at 3.

I really wanted to like this place. I didn't. Me and my buddy went there to watch the preseason Dolphins game. We walked in and immediately realized that the air conditioning was not working in the room where the game was being televised. It was 90 plus degrees in this room. They only had two TVs showing the game. The two TVs that had the game on were both so blurry we couldn't even see the graphics on the screen. And, they couldn't figure out why but the game was only in Spanish. The commercials were in English but the game was in Spanish. We ordered three different appetizers. The best of the three was definitely the egg rolls. They were delicious. The worst was most definitely the jalapeno poppers which were freezer burnt and pretty nasty. The highlight of the place was definitely Debbie, our server/bartender. She was delightful and very apologetic about the environment and the TVs and the food issue. She tried very hard to make us feel at home and she absolutely made us feel welcome and wanted, but unfortunately we only stayed halfway through the second quarter. It was just so hot it was unbearable. I will probably give this place another shot and hopefully the situation will be better. But for now I can only give two stars and both of those belong to Debbie.

Where do I start? We love this place! And the food is really good too!! We travel all over the country and love dive bars. This is the crème de la crème of dive bars in Bootleg Boca. 10/10 recommend. And this one bartender was quite the entertainer.

Went here to see a friends band. The name says it all "dive bar" .... and it truly is. I can't say it was a bad experience because the staff was super nice and the drinks cheap but it's definitely not a place I would go out of my to visit again. The bar is really small so the band was literally right in front of us and it was super loud. They did have food there provided by "Scratch Kitchen" owned by Tucker Dukes. If you've ever had their burgers at Tucker a dukes you know they are amazing.... While we were there Uber Eats can in for a pick up and another person did take out as well so it seems the food must be good. There was a mixed crowd of young people plus a few regular types. Great for someone who loves the whole dive bar scene.

Been looking for a dive bar with good music for awhile... this place is my new home. They have pool night, poker night, beautiful bartenders, cheap drinks and 10+ TVs. Perfect neighborhood dive bar. Can't wait for football season!!

Local watering hole with a cool vibe. Clean for a dive bar but the drinks were cheap and there's a place to smoke cigs outside.

CAN YOU SAY DIVE BAR?…read more My wife was searching for a cocktail before dinner and we see a 1970s themed brightly illuminated sign that proudly says, "Cocktails" affixed to the wall of the business. Below the sign was a placard advertising that Tipperary Pub was celebrating 50 years in the Cove. On the front patio, two customers were puffing away at their cancer sticks causing a thick cloud of smoke. We held our breath for a moment and struggled to open the thick wooden door that was warped at the sides. Entry was finally made into this dimly lit bar with pool tables and a wall of dart boards on one side and a circular bar in the deep back with a bartender yelling, "Welcome, come in". A partial mannequin straddling a wooden rum barrel was wearing a green Team Tipp shirt and guarding the door inside. We stood motionless for a minute pondering if this is what we really wanted. No musty smell inside, so we took a chance and sat at the corner of the bar for a quick escape if needed. The chatty bartender explained the cocktail happy hour which was excellent. The well drinks were super cheap but chose the premium liquor at $7.50 to maybe not endure a headache tomorrow. The crowd was interesting to say the least. We actually stayed for about twenty minutes and ordered the primo liquor. The bathroom was surprisingly spotless, much more modern than the bar. The dive bar was a no thrills spot to grab a stiff drink and have some off the wall conversations with the customers and bartender.

Should you be down for grabbing a beer at a dive bar with some rowdy locals though, this may be the place for you after all... With half of downtown Delray's parking taken up by the tennis event, we ended up at the Sail Inn, and as this was my first time walking in the door, I was reminded of Obi Wan'z famous description of Mos Eisley. But it grows on you... The Sail Inn is in every sense of the phrase, a "dive bar". From the cacophony of voices assaulting you on entry, to the sticky bar top and tables, to the competing smells of stale beer, sweat, and too much perfume. We were greeted immediately, and we were served quickly, though there was no smile on the face of our harried bartender, we were just one more round of beers to pour, and though it was a busy night, he was on top of things and no one was complaining. Opting for the spacious outside patio area over the crowded inside, the din was quieted, and we got to enjoy our drinks in relative peace. Be warned this area is for smokers. The only thing keeping this place from getting another star was their weird outdoor seating policy. At 11pm anyone sitting outside enjoying the comfortable and apparently newly renovated patio has to move up into a small space next to the building. This concentrated all the smokers into one small area where we could not enjoy breathing anymore so we left.
