We used to go here all the time before we converted to salt water. This last time we were there,…read morethe customer service was very aggressive. We felt rushed and not welcomed. We were warned by a couple of pool companies that they sell you a bunch of stuff that you don't need.

Tuesday, September 1, 2015…read more There was only one person working, an older man, average build and height. Two women were at the counter talking and paying separately, which he was tending to. Two men on the other side of the counter, waiting to get their water tested. He helped the two women then asked me if I needed help. I asked him for chlorine stabilizer, he said that's shock it's right here. He pointed to a chemical I had already been using. Then I told him I need chlorine stabilizer 100% cyanuric acid, he said those are 2 different things. I said I want to purchase 100% cyanuric acid. He brought over to me two 1-gal containers of "Instant Conditioner" and said that's what I need. My purchase came out to a little over $80. When I left the store, I looked at the chemical and it did not have 100% cyanuric acid as the main ingredient. I called my father to tell him what I was sold. He advised me to return it and ask for 100% cyanuric acid and that it is granular (not a liquid). When I returned into the store, the worker said "Is that not the right stuff?" I replied no I need to return this. I was still on the phone with my father incase he needed to talk with the worker. The worker said "You will have wait cause I am helping someone now". And I nodded in agreement. Then started to tell my father that I would call him back. As I heard the worker say to the man, "When they are returning something I always make them wait longer, know what I mean?" then smiled and they both laughed. The customer looked up at me uncomfortably. So not only did he not sell me the correct product but then was rude and mocked? me. I waited about 7 mins, then he took my return. He asked if I needed anything else. And I said No Thank you and left the store. I went to another pool store RIZZO POOL right down the Berlin turnpike and asked the worker there for "chlorine stabilizer" to see what he would give me. He gave me a granular 100% cyanuric acid. Needless to say I will not be doing any of my business with Leslie Pool. Cyanuric acid is a weak acid that is marketed as a chlorine "stabilizer" for swimming pools. Other terms used by the pool supply industry are "isocyanurates", "conditioner" or "CYA". When exposed to the ultraviolet rays of the sun, the free chlorine in the pool water will break down and escape. Cyanuric acid is intended to reduce this loss of chlorine.

My wife and I were trying to figure out what is the single best thing we have bought; in terms of…read moreusage, reliability, and cost, since we got married in 1994. The answer is our hot tub, so I am glad to write this review from a position of expertise. On November 3, 2012, we bought a Vista Hot Tub from Scarritt Spas and I thought it would be like an exercise bicycle...get used couple of times the first months and then everyone would gradually lose interest. The opposite has been the truth. I'll bet this tub has been used 150 days a year, every year, since it was installed, at a utility cost of pennies per day. I never thought I would use it...but it is wonderful for achy joints, sore muscles and for just rehabilitating after a hard day's work or a long bike ride. The kids use it almost every night when they are home from college or visiting. There is nothing better than hot-tubbing, with a hat on, during a snow storm. The colder the better. In the summer, the Vista has a low-power setting so the heater does not waste energy, and the kids turn the spa down to a more refreshing 85 degrees. We have had to have it serviced exactly one time, and that was when the heat pump was acting up and Scarritt came out and replaced it for free; two days after we called. In terms of maintenance; I have replaced the filters one time and I had to order a new cover after I inadvertently went all the way through it while pushing snow off. The chemicals are inexpensive; they do not even run $100.00/year. I thought I was going to have to be a chemist to keep the tub balanced but one of the greatest free services Scarritt provides is the ability to bring in a water sample and they print out a sheet of specific instructions of what to add to the tub. I don't have to do that often, it's usually a teaspoon here or a tablespoon there, but it gives me great peace of mind knowing it is well balanced. I can't wait for the grandchildren to be old enough to enjoy it, I am sure it will still be every bit as dependable at that point.
