I've been going to Brennan's for years now. I'm 27 now but started coming here as a kid to Brennans and would catch Suns games with my Dad and brothers and enjoy some Wings. Brennans is a shining example of what a neighborhood bar should be. It has always been everyones Cheers. The staff here is top notch. They are all very interesting characters. Wayne, who is the lead Bartender has been there since the beginning, is the absolute best. Just talk to the guy and observe him and you will understand what I am speaking of. Sean is also a great bartender and makes a mean mean drink. If he likes you, he will make you the " Red Sox Shot " It is LEGENDARY. Jordan who bartends and serves there, knows how to ask the cooks to make the wings a special way that make them even more amazing. Flavor suggestion: Honey Hot. Great spot to go for all the basketball and football games, drink prices are very accommodating as well. The football crowd on Sundays is fun. You have some real die hard fans that go there for football, you have some people out with laptops placing bets over the internet, fantasy football going, Bloody Mary's flowing. I live in San Diego now, but every time I come into town, its an absolute must to go to Brennan's for all these reasons and more. We went here for Taco Tuesdays. The enchiladas and the tacos are 1.50 each on Tuesdays. I loved the enchiladas with green sauce, and my wife loved the tacos. The chips and salsa were fine. The service was fine, but it seemed like the servers were a bit busy with the crowd. I am looking forward to trying some of the other foods. read more

I stopped in to Brennan's this past Tuesday, 4/2/19, for Taco Tuesday and the place was slammed! I was with some friends and our server, who appeared to be the only server there, was Chelsea. She was running her behind off taking care of all the tables but I gotta say, I never felt like I was forgotten. She made sure to bring our drinks and food out and even came back checking on us several times to see if we were doing ok, all with a smile on her face. I would give that service a 5 star rating. With that being said, I want to explain why I'm only giving this place a 3 star. That is due to the toxic atmosphere the bartender, Shawn, was creating. While the waitress was running around taking care of the entire place, this guy kept telling her how slow she was and putting her down. Several of the tables around us were all talking about him and how he was behaving. Everyone could hear what he was saying. Many of us told Chelsea not to pay any attention to him that she was doing an awesome job! I'm not sure why instead of pitching in to help he was belittling the only person taking care of the customers. I normally don't post negative reviews but this isn't the first time I have watched this bartender behave this way. I don't know how he gets away with it, maybe no one speaks up about it, but I think the people that own this place need to take a hard look at who they have tending bar because he certainly isn't a team player. In my opinion, it is more like a team destroyer. I won't be going back for some time. read more

Sad to say the absolute worst bar in North phoenix, Brennan's is like a comedy of errors, bartenders are not only rude but mean and cannot make a decent drink, worst part is they think they can. The bar itself is grungy in need of a good scrub, the food is mediocre at best, pool tables need refelting and the bathrooms look like something out of the 80s with moldy silk plants and toilets that don't flush. Beer is not quite cold enough so obviously coolers need to be fixed, makes me wonder what their kitchen looks like. So warm beer, scary, mean and creepy bartenders, bad food and dirty floors and walls. Sounds like the owner needs to put some money into this place or just leave and make way for a decent place that everyone in this neighborhood can enjoy. By the way I have visited 5 times in the past 9 years and it has never changed. read more

Great place to chill and have a beer. The bartenders, Jessica and Wayne are my favorites! Wayne is hilarious and fun to be around. Okay, so Im a little biased. Jessica is my gorgeous daughter but even if I wasnt her MOM I would say she is great at her job!! She is friendly and nice to look at and is good at both waiting tables and bartending! The regulars are fun to chill out with and laid back. If your a Scottsdale bar snob then please dont come to Brennans we dont want you there and dont want to hear from you either, but if your a laid back person who loves good service, good food and great beer then Brennans is the place for you! This place is right by my house, and I love stopping in for a drink after work. It's quiet, the bar staff is extremely friendly, and after the first time I went in there, the bartender remembered me and my spouses drinks. Found this neighborhood pub very close to home, excited to finally have a near by pub to call my spot. Unfortunately, the customer service, myself and my group experienced was below par. The night started off well with a funny/attentive Bartender named Wayne, good atmosphere for saint Patrick's day, a bit of an interesting crowd. The ending of the night is the reason behind the one star, as we were making our way out of the bar. A female server was aggressively disrespectful, by stating, "get the F*** out, go home!". I have worked in the service industry and understand at the end of day wanting to go home, but it was 3 minutes after last call. The bartender who was kind at first also joined in the banter of telling us to leave. It was a very poor example of customer service. Especially for a group who was hoping to make it their pub of choice close to home. We won't be back. read more

Horrible horrible service. Beer and food is great, neighborhood bar so it's convenient. Went in today for my last time. They were short handed which I could understand, but the managers were even terrible. Server never brought our food, let alone check on us. I had to get up to get a beer, napkins, plates, etc. Had to basically yell and wave my arms just to get the check...we complained about the service only to get a "thumbs up" and a smile then walked away....LITTERALLY. No joke. The manager kept saying he would get our server to us, which never happened. All tables around us were just as unsatisfied. Until recently (moved) we have lived close to Brennan's Pub and Grub. This has been our neighborhood bar for over 15 years. The food has always been good and the bartenders and wait staff have always done a good job. This is not a 5 star restaurant, it is a neighborhood bar and hang out just like "Cheers" was. Providing good food and drinks at a reasonable price. We miss everyone there but since we are now only a half hour away we can't wait to go back and visit Wayne, Jess and the crew. I've recently been trying to find a cool place to play shuffleboard in North Phoenix. I was trying to find a place to hang out near my bro's house so we could go hang out for a bit and have a beer. I found Brennan's online and noted that they had shuffleboard. WIN WIN!! The review said that the staff was friendly and called you "honey" even if it was the first time you had ever been there. BANG! sounds like my kinda joint, so i called my bro and said, "hey man, let's go to this joint by your house and play some shuffleboard and have a beer". So, off we went. I got there and when I approached the bar, the bartender looked at me like I was from Mars. I said hello, FIRST. She says Hi. Then I said "How's it going?" I felt like I was demonstrating to her how to greet a customer. So I ordered drinks, asked for shuffleboard disks and some menus. I was told that I could grab my own menu and that if I wanted something, I needed to come back and order. Cool, no biggie, but no points for hospitality there. No real attempt at gaining some sort of an EARNED tip, no prob, it's only my first impression of the place. SO, we play some shuffle board. 5 red disks, 3 blue, that's all they have and the shuffleboard table was not in proper working order and it wasn't like the guy sitting on his butt in the office right there was gonna check on us to see if everthing was okay. So, it don't matter, we's having some beers and it's all good. We get hungry and decide to look at the menus. The menus said that THURSDAY was Indian Fry Bread day. Apparently, I am told that they haven't done that IN A LONG TIME. I guess they didn't get around to changing the menu, but hey it's only my first impression of the joint. Glad the regulars love it, they can have it. Oh and I agree with a former poster about the Irish draw of the place. I thought it was gonna be an Irish place, not even close. Brennans is a great place to unwind after a busy day at work. Also the harkins theatre is directly across the street. If you happen to have time to kill before your movie it's a great stopping point to have an ice cold beer before your movie!! Theaters within walking distance so you can leave your car parked at brennans and head over, on foot to the movies!!! Also on Saturdays brennans has half price burgers!!!! Choice of fries, potato salad or cottage cheese!!!! Tuesday's they have taco Tuesday's as well as half price off their Mexican food items!!!! Stop by and check it out!!!! Oh one more thing.... Not sure why Brennan's was not on this list. This a great place if you like laid back dive bars. We have been going there for 6 years. On Saturday's they have half price burgers that are phenomenal. Saturday nights they have trivia. Pool tables, shuffleboard, silver strike bowling. It's a lot bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside. read more

We ate at Brennan's last night. The waitress did not write our order down, and my husband had some special requests. The meal came, and all requests were ignored. In addition, it was cold. My husband complained, and was brought another serving of beans. However, because of the food on the original plate, he was not able to eat his entire meal. Just moved into the area and have been looking for a neighborhood friendly bar. Decided to try Brennan's because it's so close to where I live. I came in with some friends on a Friday night and was served by the little blonde girl I believe her name was Taylor.
