This is a space to get away and be with people. Not be on the phone the entire time. Staff is friendly and personable, they make it feel like you are in your local town bar. When come enough Irine the bar tender learns your name and give the sense of "Cheers" where everyone knows your name. Pool and darts are available to play while to hang out with your friends and family. The pasties are amazing, you can't go wrong with hand made/house made food. Daniel is the genius behind the pastys! My favorite is the chilly burger, and honestly the Parliament wings. All in all this is a Bar Resturant that does not feel like a chain. Please do not let it get ruined by "Investors". This is a local paradise that you can lounge with affordable drinks and food. Stumbled upon this local mini chain looking for something easy to eat on the flight back home and behold Cornish pasty is the perfect hearty packaged meal! In lay man's terms, it's effectively a giant hot pocket but the filling is ultra rich, savory and filling. I tried the og - which historically is beef, potatoes and root vegetables and it was definitely thick and filling - the red wine gravy is a must on it as it's a little dry otherwise. My wife tried the Guinness stew one and that was the winner in my book - umami rich, ultra savory tender beef stew with good vegetal notes. They have tons of other combinations that looked interesting - bangers and mash and shepherds pie to name a few. I have tried a few other pasties like the bangers and mash, the Royale, Shepard's Pie, Lovely Bit of Salmon and Chicken Pot Pie, which are all good, but always go back to the Carna Adovado. read more

First the food is amazing! The crust of the pasties is so delicious, soft and chewy but then crusty and amazing! I love the chicken pot pie pasty and the original with steak. The environment is so warm and inviting. I really liked the pool table area, the decorations are great and the music is incredible. We went on Christmas Eve day and the place was EMPTY. We had not gone before so we were super unfamiliar about the menu and options. Service was good for a light crowd, the restaurant is dark so if you're over 25+ years old, turn your flashlight on. Menu options are aplenty even for vegetarians and vegans. Ordered ahead for pick up. Food was ready when I arrived. Server was very personable and I was on my way quickly. Restaurant was fairly empty as I arrived right after opening time. I checked out Cornish Pasty with two friends visiting town from San Antonio on a Friday evening for dinner. With several locations in Phoenix, this one was closest so we made our way and didn't have any trouble parking in their complimentary lot. Ambiance (5/5): I loved the vibe. Think of it as a pub with a lot of character. There's wallpaper on the walls which you don't expect at an English pub. But it works. There's seating at the bar, high tops, and tables/booths. They also have two pool tables. Cool decor abounds, including some cool pictures a flag of the area in England where pasties were invented. Service (4.5/5): While they weren't packed while we were there, there were a good number of people hanging out. Our waiter did a good job of taking care of us. He checked in with us regularly and closed us out efficiently when we were ready to make a move. He also repeated our orders to make sure they were right, which is always a nice touch. Drinks (4.5/5): While they have a full bar, when I'm at a pub, I'm thinking about beer. They have a good beer list consisting of both European beers and craft brews. I went with a Bavik pils. Their beers are reasonably priced too, which is always a big plus in my book. Given that they're a pub, I wish they had a larger menu, but outside of that, exactly what I was looking for. Food (4.5/5): If you're like me, you probably have never had a pasty. Or heard of them. If that's the case, you're in for a treat. Think of pasties as essentially British empanadas. They were invented in England and the menu gives you a nice history of how they came about. Most of the menu consists of these delectable pies. You have 30 or so of them to choose from (including vegetarian options). Outside of that, you have some appetizers and desserts for the most part. I went with the meat and cheese pasty which has sausage, beef, and cheese and is served with your choice of one of three dipping sauces. I went with the red wine gravy which was the perfect compliment to the pasty. The pasties were baked just right, flavorful, and a unique experience. They're a little pricey for the portion size, but still pretty filling. If you're feeling more adventurous, they have non-traditional pasties too like the Cubano, Tikka Masala, etc. They even have a dessert pasty with apples and cinnamon which is served a la mode with ice cream. I preferred the savory option as the pasty was a tad overcooked. But overall, an awesome meal. Cornish Pasty, I'll definitely be back. Stay pasty, my friends. read more

AMAZING! My brother and I met the owner on a ski lift earlier in the day. So, having no idea what to expect, we went to Cornish Pasty. The choices were plentiful. The service, shout out to Karly!, was attentive. The pasties are tasty. I had the vegan hatch chili burger pasty. My brother had the veggie cottage pie. That was more than enough. We, however, were so excited with the choices, we kept ordering. The mushy peas? Phenomenal. The soup he had was some of the best ever. Word on the street is they will open one in Tucson soon. I love Cornish but this location ends up disappointing me each time I come. On my last visit it was probably 85 degrees in there while it was a lot cooler outside. My friends and I were all sweating and just decided to leave. Aside from that, a few of the staff members just have terrible attitudes and will have you waiting 30 minutes to be waited on, but then when you go up to the bar to order they just tell you to sit down and wait, and then you go to another bartender and they take your order. We came tonight and noticed the same graceful and wonderful servers as always( definitely shows they are believe in what they do here) they were on point as always . This trip was bangers and mash pasty and salmon pasty , both tremendous in their own unique flavors , very complex inside that perfect crust . The bread , no where isn't better , make sure to order some to take home , you will never be sorry . For desert , once again we got the benaffi pie, our favorite all time , we seen many other deserts hit the tables next to us , and I will tell you , they all looked to be as awesome as the next . I've been to Cornish Pasty multiple times downtown and never really thought of it as more than a cute bar. This is my first time going to this location and getting food and I was very impressed. I got the chicken Greek pasty and it was delicious! The pasty was nice and flaky and the fillings were a perfect combination of classic Greek ingredients. The ambiance of the restaurant is just as fun as the one downtown and the waitstaff was super friendly and the food came out fast. Just visited this location after trying out the one in Tempe years ago. Food is delicious, service is great, ambiance is nice! When you walk in, you'll notice cool decor, candlelit tables, the smell of bread baking, and casual vibes with people hanging out for date night, a glass of beer with friends, or a game of pool. As far as the food goes, there has to be at least 40 different kinds of pasties--which are like handheld meat pies. Also a lot of vegetarian & vegan options. The chicken tikka masala pasty is my favorite so far. The curry is delish and had a good ratio of meat/veggie/sauce and the crust of the pasty is a great texture. We also tried the oggie and the reuben. The 1000 island sauce that comes with the reuben was kinda overpowering, but our server was nice to give us a different sauce. For dessert, we had the banoffee pie which was overall good (esp the homemade caramel), but had too much whipped cream for my taste. Desserts are big-- great for sharing between 2-3 people. I love this location ( but I also love the others!). This location is right in a business district so always busy. The dimly lit room has so much ambience as you listen to people chattering and food being made. They also have a nice patio. Come for the pasty's but check out the rest of the menu! They have amazing soups and a huge list of salads! Try the salads- they are worth it if you want to eat lighter. They also have a large list of vegan pasty's. My friends and I stopped in here for dinner before going to a concert later that evening. The server was very friendly and attentive to us as we waited for everyone to arrive. The menu is very large and has lots of different options too choose from including a stable vegetarian and vegan selection. I got the meatball pasty and it was pretty good, a little too heavy on the basil in a few spots but otherwise very good. Everyone seemed to really enjoy their food and there was very little leftovers. I do have to agree with some other reviews though it is very dark in the restaurant. I saw several people using the flashlights on their phones to be able to see the menu. I think maybe turning the lights up a tish might be welcome. Otherwise this dyna to be a cozy little restaurant with a down home feel. I do not agree with the person saying you should bring in tvs, please don't, having a break from screens is so important. If people want to watch tv they can stay home or go to a sports bar. This restaurant has a homey feel that encourages conversation and connection to the people you're dining with by not having televisions everywhere.
