The neighborhood is a little sketch and the outside of that strip mall could use a facelift (would improve business) but it was way nicer when we got inside. Cool retro bar/restaurant vibe. We sat at the bar before noon and started ordering food. Alex our bartender was friendly, personable and helped us with recommendations. Love seeing people that love their job. I got the pork tenderloin which was pretty good. My wife got the Ruben (which she is having the second half today) and we got queso . Came on a Saturday afternoon before another event we had to get to, a decent amount of people but our service was still great! Lovedddd the nachos it was so flavorful and had a good amount of meat! The $1.99 upgrade to onion rings was a mistake because they tasted like they were right out of the freezer. The pork tenderloin sandwich my wife ordered was OK and the sweet potato fries were good. The sandwich had shredded lettuce (probably the same they use in salads) and all it did was fall off the sandwich. The highlight was our awesome server! Unless they get a refresh I cannot recommend. We have been going to CJ since the mid 90's. Loved the Friday night fish fry. In recent years we have been going on Mondays for the burger special. We went today since the wife has retired and has Modays off. So now the single burger is $7. The lady said no more sides. It used to be fries for $1.50. No longer available. A half order fries now is $4.99. I can't eat $5 worth of fries. We wanted sides salads that used to be $1.99 now are $5.99 each. They definitely weren't worth 6 bucks a piece. The burgers barely had any sauce on them. I ordered an ice tea without a lemon and I got an ice tea with lemon. The last couple times we have dined here since the new owners took over has been a crap shoot on food quality and pricing. Unfortunately, I'm sad to say today will be my last visit. read more

I just had the best Reuben of my life! Casey Jones Grill makes their own sauerkraut and it makes a difference...it has bacon in it, need I say more??? Upon arrival I/we were a bit hesitant because the facade is a little rough. But upon entry we're greeted by the friendliest bartender I've/we've encountered in quite some time. Alex is not only efficient, fast and friendly she had wonderful menu suggestions and explained many items that stand out. We ordered the small queso with chips and salsa. Quite good. Potato skins were pretty average. My husband ordered the pork tenderloin sandwich with onion rings. Both were great. I ordered the Reuben with fries. EXCELLENT! The bar is quite comfortable. There are many booths, tv's and tables as well. There is also an additional room with tables and OTB and pool tables. The place is much larger than expected. When we arrived there were only a few people in the bar/restaurant (11:30 am) but as we sat they filled up quickly. This is the kind of place that "regulars" haunt and for good reason... It is a hidden gem. This isn't fine dining or a place to be seen. This is a place that is comfy, friendly and serves wonderful food. I've only tried the fried fish on Fridays, the hamburger on Burger Monday. The item on the menu I enjoy the most is their Cobb Salad. They will fix it most any way you want it. I 86 anything to do with blue cheese and ask for 2 of their Honey Mustard Dressings (which is the best by far just wish they would bottle it). The salads come in 2 sizes. The 1st time I ordered the French dip, it was okay with parmesan french fries they were excellent and a cocktail (hello milk and grand marnier which was also great. 2nd Visit: I ordered the patty melt, was just OK I've had better. As a side, I ordered the Parmesan french fries again, which did not taste as good as the first time and for a drink. I ordered a chocolate martini which was potent, but wasn't made the way it should be missing the chocolate rim and the chocolate coating inside the glass. I understand this is a bar restaurant but if you're gonna offer it, you need to have all the supplies that go with it. Will I return unfortunately not. June 19th @ 5:58PM we arrived and sat at OTB. There were approximately 12-15 patrons if that sitting eating and drinking. At 6:15PM, the server finally arrives to take our drink orders: beer and soda. Still waiting, she walks by and says "oh your drinks, where are they?"
