Steak sandwich. Good but would not order again.

I don't know why this place has terrible reviews! Did they just go through new management or revamping? I don't know, but from what I can tell you from my experience.. it was BOMB!! FOOD-- prawn linguini - a hit! Really creamy and delicious. Good amount of shrimp. The envy of the table. Comes with garlic bread that was great for sauce mopping Steak sandwich - probably not worth $26 but fine for steak. Good but would not order again. Chicken Brie sandwich - average. Mussels - sooo good. Comes with a mix of sausage and corn. Great with fries and baguette. Seafood chowder - amazing!!! They offer beer flights with a rotating tap. Their wine is very, very good as well. SERVICE our server was super sweet and attentive. Friendly and had great recs. AMBIANCE beautiful and right on the bay! Stunning outdoor area, try and snag a spot outside. Relaxing with a view. I would 100% be back next time I'm in Victoria!!

Pretty standard hotel restaurant. Good service & decent food. Review is for Pub (not dining room - different menu, different vibe.. pretty much two separate restaurants who just so happen to be in the same place) *yelp wants longer reviews... Ain't nobody got time for that! So here are a couple of sentences to please the people of yelp who think that people need to keep reading reviews instead of getting on with their lives

Lovely late July dinner on the deck looking over the marina. Oysters and fresh salads, old fashion or beers.

We had a 15-20 min wait on a busy Tuesday night but we're glad we waited! Our server was friendly and helpful with choosing cocktails because they had a to. Of unique selection. Haven't ordered more than one at a restaurant before but had to try two here! We thoroughly enjoyed our final selections of Ginny from the Block, Garden era, strawberry bourbon smash and Blackberry goose beer! For our mains we got the alaskan cod and chips and Blackened cod tacos and loved it all. They really know how to prepare tasty cod! The Alaskan cod and chips had the perfect crispy texture and my blackened cod tacos had all the flavor profiles you need. A hint of heat in the Thai chili slaw with a creamy avocado, Crema and the brightness of mango salsa and of course a touch of sour with the HOUSE made pickled red onions. Even better they let me substitute corn tortillas in for the flour. But you can't mix and match your proteins. I didn't need to because I loved both of my blackened cod tacos. The atmosphere is in the name: cozy Gastropub. They have a plethora of beers on tap, but parking is solely on the street so a little bit more challenging than picking your beer but I don't think it would be too challenging if you're up for a small walk. We were able to walk from our Airbnb, so didn't have to figure that part out. Pretty sure it was farther than any walk you might have to do for parking!

The food itself was a little underwhelming and overpriced for what it was. The roast beef on the pub dip was not fresh and lacked flavor. My fiancé took a couple bites and couldn't finish. The blackened cod tacos were fine but also lacked flavor and seemed more corn and onion than fish. I would recommend the poutine fries and clam chowder.

Both Matthew and Eduardo waited on me and they were both so nice. I started sitting on the patio, I ordered waygu gyoza there. The sauce was yummy. I appreciated their mocktail menu. I started with a stormy passion. They hey let me take a sip of a local cider but I decided to stick w the mocktails. Later I did a drivers sbagliato which I also enjoyed. I would've tried them all if I could. I got kinda chilly so I went inside. My food was served there. I did the ribs and chicken. Matthew recommended them and they got better as time went on. The place itself is very cute. Outside has great views of the city. They're in a cool area with a lot of foot traffic. Towards the end of my meal I did see someone catch my eye. The door to outside was open and a mouse was inside. I'm not going to take it as a reflection of anything other than the door being open and leave it at that. They have other things on their fresh sheets menu that look good. I like the local aspect to things.

When you go in, you go and order and pay at the counter first, then sit down with a number and wait for your food to be brought out to you. Service at the counter is friendly and food comes out fast -- water and utensils are self serve, but you do not need to bus your own table. The vibe of the place is casual, with a couple of TV screens set to various sports channels and old music on the playlist. The two of us shared a full portion of the Washington apple salad, I had the meatloaf burger, and my dinner buddy had the mushroom stroganoff, which he enjoyed. Portions are generous here, I am happy to say, and we were absolutely stuffed afterward. We honestly probably didn't *need* to order the salad, but we were both wanting the vegetables to balance out the meal. The salad was huge and full of beautiful fresh leaves, dressed lightly but evenly with a great vinaigrette, topped with crunchy apple chunks and slices, walnuts, and blue cheese. It's delicious but actually feels healthy. The meatloaf burger is awesome. The meatloaf itself is moist, not overly bread crumby, well seasoned, and there's a right thick slab of it in the sandwich. This is honestly a perfect burger, despite not being a typical burger. Eating this is not a graceful endeavor, stuff falls out left and right, but who cares. The small cup of slaw on the side is solid and adds some textural variety. Definitely a great place for a tasty, filling, casual meal. Next time I hope I can actually try some Cornish pasty.

There was food and paper on the floor, the tables and seats were greasy, and the area clearly had not been cleaned. When she asked about it, the waitress told her she couldn't clean because she was allergic to the cleaning solution. Instead, she handed the spray bottle and rag to one of the guest and she had to clean the table herself which was surprising and inappropriate. Unfortunately, the service throughout our visit was disappointing. Our waitress and another staff member were dismissive, and when several people in our group raised concerns, we were told, "If you don't like it, don't come back." The following day I spoke with the manager to explain what had happened. His response was that we had arrived early, which was why the patio wasn't ready. I found this explanation difficult to accept given that the business had been open for several hours before our arrival. He told us our group had been problematic and we were not welcome back. Our group left feeling disappointed by both the condition of the patio and the way our concerns were handled. We had hoped for a pleasant experience, but instead felt that customer service and cleanliness were not treated as priorities.
