    Duck Confit Salad

Wonderful dinner last night! Food was fantastic- the duck confit salad was excellent. Followed up with dessert which was wild cherry ice cream. Yum!! The servers were charming and accommodating for my dietary needs (gluten free). [[HIGHLIGHT]]My group sat out on the patio next to a fire pit which was a treat![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I highly recommend.

Located close to the waterfront & with the magnificent Empress Hotel right around the corner along with other attractions, 10 Acres Bistro is easy to get to & from in this tourist heavy area. [[HIGHLIGHT]]A relaxing chill atmosphere type of vibe in this welcoming restaurant, our group popped in for happy hour.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor is splendid & made me feel like not leaving.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's a cool patio & firepit outside, in case you want to be seen & taken notice of.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Ha. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Dog lovers will be happy - bring the pooch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The chicken pie tasted great. The Burger was a hit. The Duck Confit, although slightly too salty was still enjoyable along with the salad it came with. Victoria in general has great restaurants & pubs to choose from - so make this one to check out. The food, the setting, the service = all on point.

One of the best meals I have ever had. Came here with my mother last week while in Victoria. Everything is locally sourced an amazing. We shared the salmon, tuna nicoise, and beet salad and loved every bite. I also had the Swift Hazy IPA I really enjoyed too and I noticed the beer glass logo looks like the Taylorgate merch from Toronto and went to the brewery to try some more of their beers at the brewery a couple days later. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was very nice and quite full but didn't seem too loud or formal.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our waitress was amazing too. We still had room dessert and shared a yummy slice of pecan pie. I look forward to coming back here or another one do the 10 Acres restaurants in Victoria and bringing my wife.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Went to have dinner with puppers in tow( and asked if it was ok to have her with us in the patio area. We were told absolutely was ok and it might be a 10-15 min wait[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. It was a bit chillier so our wait wasn't long as it seemed many other patrons didn't wish to be seated outside(there was a gas cauldron for heat outside) and we were seated within 5 minutes. Our server was an absolute pleasure to interact with and took our order. Wifey got the Nashville hot fried chicken with salad and I got the lasagna with Garlic bread added. I had a bite of the chicken and there was a beautiful crisp crunchy outer layer and moist tasty chicken inside. The batter was a bit thicker than I was expecting but it was also tasty and with the crunch it gave made it an enjoyable bite. There was a slight heat but not enough to kill you(I haven't had real hot chicken yet so don't hate on this.. I'm sure this is to be more palatable to the tourists and locals) def an enjoyable dish if you were to order this imo. The lasagna is a beef and pork mixture and was delicious. Crispy baked cheese edges on top, creamy interior with perfectly cooked pasta sheets in between. Every bite was delectable to the last bite. I also sopped up every last bit of tomato sauce with my garlic bread. Our water was refilled when needed and our server attended to us and checked in on its to make sure we were good. Our lily stayed quiet and beside me wandering under the table between myself and wifey until we were finished our meal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall experience was excellent with the ambiance of the outdoor patio heated with a gas cauldron, surrounded by the pleasant night air and sounds from the interior of the establishment was relaxing and nice[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. The host and server both had very good service attitudes and demeanor. I would highly recommend if you are in Victoria.

I had high expectations based on their commendable farm to table approach. Sadly the meals simply did not deliver. No one in our group enjoyed their choices. We all found the dining experience an expensive swing and a miss. PS. The servers were great.

TL;DR: Pathetic overpriced "bistro" food that doesn't have unique tastes... or even offer objectively well-cooked basics like roasted chicken (was undercooked, no flavor-rich skin, drenched in tasteless but salty and curry gravy). The vibe is pleasant with their outdoor seating area decorated in suspended greenery. Service is solid. Well. This place is a shame. I ordered a half chicken and it tasted worse than something from the local market. The skin had no flavor other than burnt flour. The gravy was very salty and lumpy. I'm sure some of it burnt on the chicken. The Brussels sprouts were doused in oily when fried, and what should've been crispy was oily and soggy. The potatoes blended into the lumps of gravy... tasteless. The chicken was undercooked and noticeably pink and slimy. Some parts were over cooked and dissolved like powder in the mouth. What was OK was the service. Nothing bad nor great to say. The ambiance was also cool, especially their outdoor area. For those two "meet or exceeds the bar," I give two stars.

Party of 7 for dinner on a weeknight. Busy place, pretty noisy and bustling inside. We had the Hoyne Dark Matter beer. Very tasty. We ordered these dishes and split them amongst us: - Cauliflower Gratin - Roasted Celeriac Root - Brussels Sprouts - Humboldt Squid - 10 Acres Farm Roasted Beets - Spaghetti Bolognese - Duck Confit Salad - Seafood Cannelloni - Garlic Bread All were pretty good. We liked the Celeriac Root the best, followed by the Brussels Sprouts. The squid seemed more for texture, but the chorizo in the dish was tasty. The duck confit salad wasn't what we expected (it wasn't a "salad" in the way we thought it would be, more duck with some greens on the side). The seafood cannelloni was good. The bread (both the garlic bread and the bread that came with the cauliflower gratin) were very good. Great atmosphere and staff.

A very unpleasant surprise, $2.50 for a side of Parmesan.

After having some nice drinks and yummy desserts the night before, I wrote a review that included my desire to return to sample some of the farm to fork options on the menu. The hubs and I did just that! We came back the following night. Much to our dismay and extreme disappointment. While we were seated right away, we had no service-- no one -- for at least 20 minutes (unfortunately we timed it). No water, no drinks, no bread, no anyone or anything. Realizing service was obv a challenge, we swiftly landed on our order splitting a bowl of French onion soup and a Cesar salad. You know- stuff that shouldn't take too long to prepare. We asked Colton to space out the soup and salad as that order, was our entire meal. The flavorless soup was a total surprise- it looked good coming out of the kitchen. In addition other Yelp reviews seemed to boast about it. I have plenty of other onion soups to compare to, including onion soup in Paris. The Cesar was suitable to split and (I felt) had a nice anchovy- based creamy dressing. Maybe a little too much but tasty. I like a little extra parmesan cheese. I asked for it but didn't received until i I was 2/3 done with my salad. Seriously?! What takes so long to get grated cheese? Maybe it was my blood sugar had dipped and I was so hungry I just gobbled up my salad. Whatever. This dining adventure, in total took 2 hours. Colton miss understood a well-paced meal and a frustrating dining experience. Oh wait?!! The kicker?? Take a look at the recent. A separate charge for a side of Parmesan cheese that we were unaware of until the bill dropped on our table. With a polite "hope to see you again." Thanks but no thanks. There are plenty of other eateries in Victoria waiting for me....

Both Matthew and Eduardo waited on me and they were both so nice. I started sitting on the patio, I ordered waygu gyoza there. The sauce was yummy. I appreciated their mocktail menu. I started with a stormy passion. They hey let me take a sip of a local cider but I decided to stick w the mocktails. Later I did a drivers sbagliato which I also enjoyed. I would've tried them all if I could. I got kinda chilly so I went inside. My food was served there. I did the ribs and chicken. Matthew recommended them and they got better as time went on. The place itself is very cute. Outside has great views of the city. They're in a cool area with a lot of foot traffic. Towards the end of my meal I did see someone catch my eye. The door to outside was open and a mouse was inside. I'm not going to take it as a reflection of anything other than the door being open and leave it at that. They have other things on their fresh sheets menu that look good. I like the local aspect to things.

We were met with very friendly staff, super quick service and great recommendations. The place was also so cute inside! The food itself was super tasty! We ended our lunch with a delicious chocolate cake and some champagne suggested by our waiter. We will absolutely be back the next time we're in Victoria!

Recommend the Udon Bowl--try it at spice level 1 even if you normally opt for 0 spiciness (it's a sweet-spicy) and choose bulgogi beef if you like a smoky leaner meat or the pork belly if you're craving more of a rich fattiness. Me and a group of friends (8 total) were visiting the Olympic peninsula for a camping/backpacking weekend and stopped by Midtown on a busy Friday night and were quickly seated. The food tasted good and we had great service during our visit. Since we were a large group, and already had shared expenses for the weekend, when asked about the check we offered to put everything on one tab to save time. Later on that night however, after we had set up our tents at our campground, my partner began to experience intense stomach pains which turned into full blown food poisoning. I spent the next several hours helping them, before I also got sick. It was at this point we realized that it was from the chicken sandwich my partner had ordered at Midtown, since I had eaten her last remaining bites of the sandwich and this was the only food we shared that other members of our group had not also eaten (we all shared food at lunch earlier in the day). My partner and I essentially spent the night in the campground bathroom (we are extremely lucky they had one). The next morning we were feeling depleted, dehydrated, and decided to head home to recover while the rest of the group continued on the trip. We spent the rest of the weekend trying to get food down. I called Midtown the next business day and let them know what happened for their awareness mostly. They thanked me and told me their policy is a full refund if something like this happens and that the group should expect it soon. We didn't hear from them or get notification of a refund so we reached out a week later and they said they forgot and now the owner would only provide a refund for me and my partner's meals and that they never offered a full refund. They said since we had "12 people" on the ticket they wouldn't do it (our tab for 8 people was $186 before tax and tip) but if we had a doctor's note that could change things. I promised them we weren't making it all up and that I've never gotten food poisoning from a restaurant or even left a bad review before! Tired of the gas lighting I decided it wasn't worth arguing and let them know this will have to be my first. It's a shame their management is unprofessional because our experience in the restaurant with the food and staff was nice.

There was food and paper on the floor, the tables and seats were greasy, and the area clearly had not been cleaned. When she asked about it, the waitress told her she couldn't clean because she was allergic to the cleaning solution. Instead, she handed the spray bottle and rag to one of the guest and she had to clean the table herself which was surprising and inappropriate. Unfortunately, the service throughout our visit was disappointing. Our waitress and another staff member were dismissive, and when several people in our group raised concerns, we were told, "If you don't like it, don't come back." The following day I spoke with the manager to explain what had happened. His response was that we had arrived early, which was why the patio wasn't ready. I found this explanation difficult to accept given that the business had been open for several hours before our arrival. He told us our group had been problematic and we were not welcome back. Our group left feeling disappointed by both the condition of the patio and the way our concerns were handled. We had hoped for a pleasant experience, but instead felt that customer service and cleanliness were not treated as priorities.
