I've seen this place so many times and finally stopped by. The avocado toast is one delicious sandwich with their guacamole tasting avocado, on the delicious nutty multigrain bread and the Actec Mocha was amazing, not too chocolaty like some places make it and not to bland either. I'm definitely going back and wish I would have stopped by sooner. They had a lot of people but the line was running fairly fast and the decor was rustic, dim, bohemian, filled with people in their 30s like myself. They have a variety of comfortable seating options - a window bar, small and large tables, and a couch. This is a hidden gem of west Logan Square/Avondale. Tucked away near Diversey and Pulaski, the great atmosphere (nice looking dark wood, an attractive pastry case, and jazz) and cleanliness of the cafe produces that great neighborhood coffee shop vibe (the hipsters are moving in...). Don't expect artisanal brewing here, but still a damn fine cup of coffee and good pastries to match. read more

YAS brew brew. This is my favorite local coffee shop, such a hidden gem in a mostly residential part of town! Menu: they have oat milk, so I'm already sold. They have all classic cafe menu items with some signature drinks that are delicious. They serve baked goods, donuts, and have some warm hearty options as well. Atmosphere: great! Various kinds of seating options, great for grabbing coffee with a friend or getting work done. My one concern: WiFi can be spotty based on where you sit. It appears not all patrons have this problem as some of theres were working just fine. read more

I live down the street from brew brew and visit as often as I can! I'm a huge fan of their iced teas and coffees. We've tried their sandwiches and pastries which have always been excellent. The price is reasonable and their staff is friendly. They even have a dog tie out so you and your pup can stop and get something. The only huge negative (hence only 4 stars) to this place is that it's impossible to go to brew brew if you work! They open at 7am and close at 5pm during the week! I'm not sure who is free to stop in during those hours especially as it's in a more residential area. So unfortunately my visits are limited to weekends. I really wish they had better hours for people bc i would love a tea both before and after work! read more

Love this place. It is my go to place for coffee. Their seasonal drinks are so yummy and the barista always adds a beautiful design on top of drinks that require foam; like a heart or a leaf. Since there are not many coffee shops in the area, brewbrew is a great contribution to the neighborhood. Prices are reasonable and the coffee is good. I don't normally drink Metropolis but it is was not disappointing. Looking forward to trying a latte! Aside from coffee, their sandwich menu is awesome! It has a wide variety that will please the vegetarian or the meat lover. They are very reasonably priced as well! I ordered the Italian which was delicious and was told is a best seller. The meat portions were perfectly generous, the pesto was on point, and I really appreciated the side of gardinera!!! Pastries are available as well. Not the most vast of options but they have many of my go-to's (croissants, muffins, bagels, loafs). Nice local shop! When I visited: 4.19.16 What I got: Aztec Mocha Drink Review: A nice, sweet mocha as you'd expect from any garden variety café. The twist here is that with an "Aztec flavor", instead of spice/heat, you get something a bit more earthy on the tail end of each sip. This comes from the more dark chocolate flavor in the mocha, as opposed to your usual milk chocolate in other mochas. Additionally this earthy flavor comes from a bit of micro sediment of both coffee grounds and chocolate bits that get caught in the steamed milk . Now luckily this earthy blend of flavor is consistent throughout the drink, as opposed to having been all collected at the bottom or top of the initial foam. Altogether, I'm not sure if this complex cluster of flavors was planned, but despite the risk for it going wrong (misattribution of flavors) it is executed well, from first to last sip. Paired the drink with a tomato and egg breakfast pocket, that they whipped up fresh for me despite my 3PM visit time. Cafe Review: This Avondale locale was certainly off my usual area of operation as a Rogers Park guy, but I was meeting an acquaintance in the area and made the divvy ride to get out to this Westside spot. After finishing my first meet up and making it here, I was worried upon seeing a boarded up front door, alas my worries were quickly diminished after seeing some small handmade signs pointing to the auxiliary entrance on the side for the duration of repairs. The decor is a bit more contemporary than the lumber-clad or 'reclaimed' aesthetics that some others go for. A collection of chairs and tables adorn the insides, adjacent to a few comfy reading chairs and a couch. A mid sized place with a solid music selection and your usual coffee shop art scattered across the walls. Worth noting is a wireless printer tucked under the cream and sugar island, offering affordable (19¢ per side) prints for those running a cubicle à la café. Were it closer to my side of town, I'd definitely be frequenting this more, but for now I'll always cherish this particular caffeine fling. Overall Visit Rating: 8.5/10 read more

Brew Brew has quality drinks from Metropolis Coffee and Rishi Tea. I usually stick to the basics, and they have great coffee and tea. The cafe is small and quiet, but has a good number of small tables as well as a group table, bar seating and a couch. Very laid back atmosphere and the typical coffee house music. Prices are close to Starbucks - higher than independently operated shops. They are also closed earlier on weekday nights. I also don't think it has as much personality as some of the trendy or hipster cafes. read more

They are here to serve the community (check out their calendar on their website for community affairs), this part of avondale needs a good cup of brew. The staff welcomes you as you walk in, and as what they can get you. You have a choice of iced, cold brew, and hot beverages, sandwiches, and snacks. I thought it was a bit much at first, but it serves the community at different times of the days. So far, my favorite drink has been the iced chai latte, so spicy, not too sweet. Both the owner and I think it tastes like horchata. Also, I did like the iced lavender coffee they have, it must be sipped, though. read more

I loove this coffee shop! I just moved to Chicago a few months ago and I've been looking around for a good place to study and this is it! It's a lot quieter than most cafes and the music isn't too loud or overpowering. It's a small place with a cozy feel. The staff are really friendly and they make the best coffee. I love all the specialty drinks, but even just the Bottomless Drip is nice and strong. They have a few teas to choose from as well and I'm hoping to try one next time around. I haven't tried any of their food yet, but their Lemon Poppy seed muffin is amazing. read more

I have been going into Brew Brew for the past few months and this place is great! It is so easy to talk to the staff and I don't have to deal with the "too cool for school" Logan Square hipsters. The coffee is great and so is the food. The best thing, to me, is that the people brewing and serving the coffee live down the street and are part of the community. We should all be happy to support local small businesses owned by individual that care about what they are doing. While those are the ingredients to harboring a successful coffee shop business, it does not hurt to have a brother and sister duo behind it all who know what a coffee shop atmosphere should have. And it shows. I walked in to Brew Brew on a windy (yet sunny)Sunday afternoon in October. I was not expecting to find people busy at work, nose-deep into their computers and books, enjoying coffee and sandwiches-- but they were. Behind me, more enthusiastic coffee lovers walked in, forming a line at the counter. This is the type of atmosphere that would encourage anyone to go back to school just so that studying can be done at this café. I am an avid Starbucks coffee drinker-- and it wouldn't do Brew Brew justice to make a comparison in quality and service. Brew Brew is on a league of its own and rightly so: a community coffee shop should feel like part of the community, from decor to the finishing touches, yet with a unique signature feel. Brew Brew excels in this. Because of distance from my workplace, I will say that my daily coffee fix will come from the generic coffee branch down the street-- but when it comes to enjoying the simple pleasures of life and winding down from a long week of work, Brew Brew's Caramel Macchiato and Pesto Mozzarella sandwich will do the trick. read more

As a teacher and grad student, I come here often to get away from the neighbor's barking dogs to do work. Great ambiance, coffee, and food. My only dislike is the temperature of the place during the day time. Its very warm, especially with the sun beating in on the three tables against the window. With very limited seating, this is frustrating as numerous times I have tried to sit and do work at these tables but cannot focus because it is unbearably hot. Perhaps some curtains or blinds would help so that customers could actually be comfortable sitting at these tables. Third time having to pack up my stuff and find another place to work. read more

Pros & Cons: PRO: - I really enjoy the seating variety. High tops, low tables, coaches, picnic table -- tons of outlets. The vibe is casual and unpretentious. - I believed this is owned by people of color, siblings who grew up in the area, I try to be conscious about supporting locally-based, and locally-owned businesses - OK mix of hipsters/gentrifiers and folks who have lived in the community, growing up around here I personally feel conflicted with the changes, some feel good, others don't :( - Decent music, think Mumford & Sons, City & Color - Staff smiled, they seem happy to work there - Great tea selection, ability to smell and see the different teas - Good wifi, easy to access - Soy cappuccino was super good, creamy and they had sugar, simple syrup, agave, honey, cinnamon, and nutmeg to add - I also got a multi-seed bagel with butter, the bagel was toasted to perfection, for just a bagel with butter it was bomb - I came at 9 and there was one other person parked. All morning people came in and out, and by 12 all the tables were full. - Felt comfortable hanging out for a while CON: - I had a Pumpkin Spice Latte with Almond milk which was awful, literally couldn't drink it. Maybe it was the almond milk -- i asked if it would taste okay together and she ensure me yes :( Bummer. read more

I'm glad to see them bouncing back after a car came crashing through their front door a few months ago. The staff is very friendly, lovely people.
