ASH & JESSE'S CHICAGO COFFEE CRAWL '25 Ranked #3 out of 15 Our first stop in our coffee crawl & only a 3 minute walk from our AirBnB, really could not get better than that. I got a Honey Cardamom latte and it was absolutely delicious. No complaints. 10/10. My friends got a Caramel latte, that she asked for it to be sweeter due to personal preference and my other friend (a self-proclaimed matcha connoisseur) got a matcha latte that she said was pretty good! Which can be a miss sometimes at coffee shops-- color & ratio was absolutely perfect. My partner got a Brown Sugar latte that was absolutely delectable. My partner and I got the Winston to share as well. Wow! The tomato jam was so yummy and for the sandwiches to be named after their pets is too cute. The staff was absolutely amazing. Truly the best part. Friendly and great conversation. The owner actually recommended us 'Side Practice'-- another great coffee shop that we ended up loving. We ended coming again on a whim because my friend was feeling lightheaded from not eating breakfast and we came in and ordered a bagel for her. Sadly we did so right before the kitchen closed, not knowing so, and they did so with no complaints or side eyes. Just a very kind staff and a great atmosphere overall.

I wish I didn't come at the end of the day! The staff and setup made the cafe inviting. Easy place to set up a laptop and the kid play area is thoughtful. I enjoyed both my cardamom latte and the generously sized biscuit (kitchen closes a little earlier than the coffeebar). Would definitely recommend you stop by if you're looking for a place to get some work done or catch up with a friend near Irving Park.

Dope vibe. So glad I steeped in. Love the how much light comes through. Very cute space. Nice decor and very easy spot to work from. There's a nice lil spot for kids too. For those parents with young kids. That's a very nice and thoughtful touch. There is a gluten free option too. Staff was welcoming and I loved the vibe. That's what it's all about, right?!?? Boom- 10/10 recommend. They serve Magnifico coffee-- a local roaster. Local supporting local. Doesn't get much better than that.

So nice to have a good coffee shop in neighborhood. The space was completely redone since last shop; bright with wonderfully simple and clean design. Friendly servers and great coffee. Of course, they have free WiFi and plenty of work tables. The owner apparently did most of the re-model himself; benches and high tables are basic, but fit in and are comfortable. There is a small play area for tots Thanks for reviving the neighborhood!

This cafe has been in this location for a year. They make their syrups in house. As a parent, I appreciate that they created a children's nook in the cafe with books and toys so they can also enjoy the space. I had the lavender matcha latte with oat milk. The cafe is clean and bright inside. My children had fun and they've already asked to go again.

Just went for the first time today! Loved it. We got a coffee and then waited outside with our pup and they brought out a little treat for her. Bacon egg and cheese bagel was delicious! Loved the egg they had on it. So many ppl were coming in / out on a Saturday morning. They have a cute play area if you have kids. Will be back!

House made syrups and baked goods- not much else more I can ask for! So excited to see a new cafe in this Old Irving Park location. I got an iced cardamom latte which was divine. Service was excellent and the interior is bright, plenty of seating and an adorable light pink color. Love the Chicago flag decal on the wall.

Yay for delicious coffee and treats in the neighborhood!

Super excited when I saw this was a coffee shop again and is actually open! Even more excited when I stepped into such a welcoming and clean space with super friendly service! They have baked goods made in house (super delicious) and a variety of coffees and teas. I am excited to visit here regularly!

Oat milk Cortado and blackberry torte.

First of all, the owners are so nice! Every baked good I've had has been amazing and they make them in house. And they use coffee from Magnifico which I love. Cortados are definitely a hit and miss at many places depending on the barista but I had a hit today. Oat milk Cortado and blackberry torte so yummy!

Coffee and the Andy breakfast sandwich!

Our favorite bagel spot! The Andy is unstoppable. Great craft coffee and house made pastries! Great place to study and hang out!

    The friendly proprietor!

They make a very good bacon egg and cheese bagel sandwich, with a spicy aioli as a unique touch. Good coffee, too.

The staff were really welcoming, for an early morning. I got the hot chocolate. Honestly that's exactly what I needed that morning. It had that real Mexican chocolate taste. Thick, creamy, smooth and rich. The cinnamon came through warm but not too strong, plus a little extra on top that hit your nose before the first sip. Sweet and it almost had this slight earthy note too... hard to explain but good. It even had that little design on top, like the ones they do on cappuccinos. Didn't expect that but it was cool. I finished it slow. Didn't wanna rush it. Just sat there taking small sips and enjoying it while it was still hot.

They also have a patio, and with the weather being nice, it was easy to just sit outside and relax for a while. I was honestly too hungry to spend much time deciding, so I just ordered one of the sourdough donut ball. It was exactly what I was hoping for. The outside had a light coating of sugar that gave it just the right amount of sweetness without being too much. Once I bit into it, the inside was soft, airy, and slightly chewy from the sourdough, which made it different from a regular donut. There was a subtle tang from the sourdough that balanced the sweetness really well, so it never felt overly sugary. It had a light crispness on the outside, then a warm, pillowy center that practically melted away with each bite. I finished it way faster than I expected. The only thing I forgot was ordering something to drink with it. Looking back, a good coffee would've made it even better. Still, I'd definitely stop by again the next time I'm in the area.

Our family and extended family often ordered birthday cakes from them, and their mango cake was our favorite. When mangoes were in season, they used plenty of fresh mango in the cakes. Their cakes are always fresh, light, fluffy, and not too sweet. My daughter and I also love their individual cakes, especially the Black Pearl and Walnut Cake. Their pineapple buns and egg tarts are her favorites as well. Saint Anna has also been part of our daughter's childhood. When she was little, my husband used to bring her here before or after Chinese school in Chinatown on Sundays. Her go-to breakfast items were the Butter Bun, Ham and Macaroni in Soup, and Diced Ham and Corn in Cream Rice. As she got older, Curry Chicken with Potato became her favorite. She especially loved the potato cubes soaked in the delicious, mild curry sauce. She would always ask for more potatoes and less chicken, haha! Saint Anna is a family-run business, and Sara and Irene, the daughters-in-law, used to take care of the front of house. They were always so friendly and accommodating. After a 6-year hiatus, we finally returned one Friday recently when we happened to be in the area with a friend. Sara is now a co-owner, and it was wonderful to see her again. She immediately recognized us and was so warm and welcoming. She even asked me to relay her greetings to my sisters when she greeted us and again when we were leaving. Those little gestures made our return feel especially meaningful. We were still full from a big dim sum lunch, so my daughter picked up 2 Mini Pineapple Buns and 2 Paper-Wrapped Sponge Cakes, while I got a Red Bean Roll. Everything was fresh, soft, and delicious, and the total came to just under $8, really a great value. Our friend also purchased 2 Fried Sticky Rice Dumplings with Chicken. I had never really paid attention to their limited dim sum selection before, so that was a nice discovery. We love Saint Anna and will definitely be back whenever we're in the area.
