Great breakfast bagel sandwiches and coffee! I got The Bagler Sandwich and a mocha latte with their house made mocha. The bagel sandwich was just the right amount to satisfy my craving and wasn't too heavy or over the top. Their latte was creamy and just what I needed. It has a lot of space and I even saw people working from home from there and I wished I'd brought my laptop to get some work done as well. Service was quick and the staff was friendly. read more

This spot is truly so hit or miss- the first couple of times we ordered from here it was fantastic but then in more recent visits they haven't lived up to expectations. If you place an order for pick up, it could be ready 30 minutes early or 15 minutes late - hard to time pick up. So you like a warm breakfast sandwich? You might get it! Or you'll have an un-toasted, soggy bagel. The hashyb is good when the bagel is toasted and the bacon cooked, but now the ratio of times this happens is on the unfavorable side. The lox bagel also doesn't come on a toasted bagel meaning it ends up very wet and unsavory, I ended up eating the contents of the bagel without the bagel as it was falling apart. The coffee tasted burnt. Again, when they are on it - it's great! I wish they were more consistent, I will not be returning to pay $$ for a bagel that might be decent. read more

Bustling weekend morning bagel and coffee shop with nonstop lines. The tables clear rather quickly so we were able to find seating. They do feel a bit understaffed for the weekend morning rush. There's a bit of a wait after you order so everyone is just crowded around the counter in a tight space. It's always an option to get the food and eat it outside elsewhere. I tried the "bagler," which is bacon, eggs, cheese and sauce on a bagel of your choice. It was pretty average, a bit heavy, salty and very saucy. I didn't find their bagels to be my personal favorite. They are rather thin and dense. I think this place would be a great coffeehouse place to relax and work/read when it's the weekday with fewer people. read more

The Bagelers was bookmarked on my list for a while, and I was ravenous after a cycling class one morning and felt that a bagel sandwich was calling my name. We came in on a Thursday morning, and there were a few other customers but several open tables which was great. I ordered The Hashy B. I really enjoyed the fillings of the sandwich; the hot honey and chipotle mayo specifically added great flavor, and I also liked the hash brown patty. However, the bagel itself was lackluster. I feel like the Everything Bagel was lacking in taste, and the texture also wasn't great. I don't know if it was worth the price. That being said, I liked the environment. There were a good number of tables, and it seemed like a good place to go with friends to catch up one morning. The service was also super efficient. I would potentially come back in the future if I was ever in the area, but I'm definitely still searching for a good bagel in Chicago. read more

My absolutely favorite bagel shop in the city hands down! Their selection of bagel sandwiches has such a large variety and are filled with lots of toppings and sauces. Even despite the huge crowds, you can always manage to find a seat to enjoy your bagel which I appreciate. Since the first time I tried it, I always get the same two things because it's just that good. My go to order is the Hashy B and the brown sugar cinnamon latte. It's the most perfect breakfast combination that'll have you craving these bagel sandwiches regularly. read more

This is such a good spot! I had the brown sugar cinnamon latte and it was so good, honestly almost wanted to get a second! I also had the Miss Bageler on an everything bagel. It had melty Muenster cheese and a perfect kick of chipotle mayo, messy in the best way possible. Great for a hearty breakfast when you're potentially recovering from the night before. It was pretty busy when I stopped in but it still had that easy going atmosphere where you could chat with friends or settle in to study. Great food, great coffee, and a solid place to start the day! read more

Came here on a Sunday morning around 10am. It was not crowded or too busy when I got here. I came with my child. They have a big menu, and they kettle boil the bagels. They are good. I got a poppy bagel with garlic and chive cream cheese. And my child got a plain bagel with plain cream cheese. I liked my bagel, I did ask for it toasted and if it was toasted I couldn't tell. It was fluffy, and very yeasty which was good. It had a lot of flavor, salty, and doughy. I did think that the poppy bagel didn't have enough poppy seeds. We also got a strawberry lemonade and a cold brew. On our way out at 10:30 it was crowded, line was long, definitely recommend getting here earlier on a weekend. Overall it was good, it is rated among the best bagels in Chicago, considering the competition it may be a winner. read more

Went on a Saturday mid-morning. It appeared busy (line and tables full), but I was impressed with how quickly the line moved. By the time I decided on what I was going to order, it was my turn. Food + drinks also come out quite quickly - they have a good system going. I ordered the bageler and a brown sugar cinnamon latte. Both were great! I especially liked the chipotle mayo and muenster cheese. I got it on the sesame bagel which was yummy. The latte wasn't too sweet, nor too cinnamon-y which I loved. Solid breakfast spot! read more

Highly Not Impressed!!! From the Bagel to the Eggs were a hard pass for me and my husband. We ordered two bagels: Egg and Cheese (eggs are microwaved) Cinnamon Raisin w/ Cream Cheese Bagels did not taste fresh. They even toasted them not upon request. I usually don't get fresh bagels toasted-no need to If you're a bagel connoisseur I would pass on this location. read more

A small bagel and coffee shop located near DePaul University. While they are known for bagels, I decided to just grab a croissant and coffee. It may have been the wrong choice, because the bagels smell amazing. However, the Almond Croissant was fantastic and they did a butter spread which I wasn't expecting. The Iced Brown Sugar Cinnamon Latte was great as well. I will definitely come back, but do know that during the school year it is packed. I wanted to stop by earlier in the year but there was a line out the door. The staff was very friendly as well as the people in the line who let me go ahead while they were figuring out their order. Who doesn't love a good bagel sandwich. The Bagelers Coffehouse is the place for one. I'd say it's a popular spot in Chicago since most of the seats were taken by people of all ages. I got the fisherman with a jalapeño bagel and a brown sugar cinnamon latte. My boyfriend got the bageler with an everything bagel and a salted caramel latte. The fisherman was so good! Your perfect lox bagel. I do wish the jalapeño bagel actually had jalapeños in it. There wasn't really any type of flavor. The texture was great though. The bageler is your typical breakfast bagel. No flaws at all and was a great comfort. Both lattes were delicious. My boyfriend and I switches lattes actually though just because of taste preference. I've been here twice now and enjoyed both visits. The bagels however are fantastic. Every now and then I crave a bagel and lox and this is a great spot to get my fix. I'll keep coming back for this. They have a brown sugar iced coffee which is good but very sweet. I almost wish they did just a tad less sugar and I'll see if they can make it that way for me next time. Their chocolate cookie wasn't good, unfortunately. I'll stick to the savory options. read more

Fantastic spot for breakfast. Close by to our air bnb...quick easy drive via Uber. We ordered the following: The Bageler- one of their signature breakfast sandwiches which consist of egg, cheese & bacon. The Gardener- yum! Their main vegan offering. I'm not vegan but I really enjoyed this! So light and refreshing. Consisted of hummus, roasted red peppers, cucumbers and red onions. We got both our sandwiches on an everything bagel. Perfect portion for breakfast! Thank you Yelp for helping me discover this little hidden gem. Besides bagels, they serve muffins and an extensive list of coffee concoctions. Cozy and cute bagel shop! Went right when they opened on a Friday morning, and there wasn't a line. Decent amount of tables and booths too, which is a plus! Long line, delicious bagel!! The Saturday line was insane!!!! I waited about 45 min for my bagel - I recommend ordering online ahead of time to avoid having to wait so long. The space is pretty small with not a ton of space to stand around. It was packed, but the staff was very friendly despite being so busy. Bagel was worth it though! 5 stars for the garlic chive cream cheese - absolutely delicious and i will be thinking about her forevermore. if you're a garlic fan, you simply have to try this. one of my friends said it's a little too much, so not for the faint of heart, but as someone with a garlic obsession (I prefer appreciation but oh well), this hit the spot. I had it spread over an everything bagel and I'm afraid of scurvy so I added a tomato for some extra nutrients which perfectly complemented the cream cheese. the bagels here are obviously good & any would mostly likely provide an appropriate vessel for it. to be clear, she is the Moment. she is the main character. the restaurant is cozy and a great spot for lunches as i work just around the corner. Great business on a Saturday morning. Good for them. But they don't know how to manage the heavy load of orders. It took me 30 minutes (no exaggeration) of standing there with my young kid for my simple order of two bagels w/cream cheese and two muffins. They tend to prioritize the mobile orders at the expense of dozens of in-store customers excessively waiting for their orders. Lots of bagged to-go orders being cranked out and lined up at about two times the pace of in-store orders. I lost it when clearly they started going out of order, calling customer food orders that arrived well after me. In the interest of not just being an anonymous review poster, i called them on it. They really just blamed it on the heavy load and I don't think they can understand that their operations and priorities are off. read more

This spot is insanely delicious! My boyfriend and I came at the coldest time of the month and we were lucky enough to see this spot was open for breakfast. The employees were super friendly as we looked over the menu for a bit and we decided on "The Bageler," "The Fisherman," and our salted Caramel lattes. We grabbed a table and there's plenty of space for small groups or individuals to do their own work. The bageler was delicious! The fisherman was super refreshing and impressive. I loved the freshness and softness of the bagel and with the meats all put together, the food was a 10/10 along with our drinks. Definitely coming back to visit! read more

my friend and I did not enjoy our experience here. the tables and floor were very dirty and I found sesame seeds in my tap water. bagel sandwich was $14 and did not taste fresh. it was barely warm and cheese was not even melted. maybe they were having an off day but I will bot be returning. much better breakfast spot options in the area in my opinion read more

What a cute little spot! This place was hopping when I stopped by to pick up a to-go order. Note if you're waiting for pickup: there's a separate counter directly parallel to the main coffee bar designed specifically for online order pickup. (I initially waited in the wrong spot and didn't realize my food had been ready behind me for 5 mins!) It's not immediately apparent when you walk in and can be hard to miss with so many people. While all the pre-made bagels looked delicious, I opted to create my own with plain cream cheese, lettuce, and cucumbers. The bagel was perfectly chewy and not too dense. They make their own bagels here! AMPLE cream cheese. (I had to scrape some off. ) I would love to return to try more of the menu! Great little neighborhood spot. read more

Obsessed, love, highly recommend. Might be my favorite bagel spot in Chicago. The kettle boiled bagels are 10/10 - my favorite is the jalapeño cheddar. I typically get the bageler breakfast sandwich (minus the bacon) and it always hits the spot. The inside is pretty small and tends to be very busy, but the service is good. I oftentimes order to go. We stopped by to try a new bagel joint and we were going to take our iced coffees to go but the vibe was so good we sat for awhile. The baristas are friendly and there is good seating that allows for conversation, studying or working. The bagels are delish and are now my favorite. I don't really understand why bacon egg and cheeses in Chicago are far more expensive than ones in New York City. The "Bageler" is a tiny bacon egg and cheese for $8.50 that has undercooked microwaved bacon, one egg and unmelted Muenster cheese??? The bagel itself was dry and lacked the proper integrity of a hard exterior and soft chewy interior. If you told me these bagels were store bought I wouldn't question it. The silver lining is that their chive and garlic cream cheese was very flavorful and shows high promise on the right type of bagel. read more

Bagel was soft and fried egg's yolk was between runny and dry which is great. The basic formula with chipotle mayo in between the everything bagel produced awesome flavor! Vanilla chai latte was on the sweeter side but I have a sweet tooth and I loved clearly tasting the chai tea. Service was good and ample amount of seating. read more

We bake our own bagels. We carry a full line of teas and coffee as well as house-made spreads and breakfast sandwiches.

History

Established in 2014.

We are a husband and wife team, and we started our wholesale bakery business in 2011 specializing in bagels and croissants, delivering all over the city every morning. In 2014 we decided to open our first retail location in Lincoln Park, selling our own bagels and croissants alongside house-made jams and cream cheeses, in addition to serving Ipsento and hand crafted teas from Rare Tea Cellars in Ravenswood.

Meet the Business Owner: Jotam-Chelsey T.

Our backgrounds are in web design and finance, but our passion quickly turned to pastry in 2010 when Chelsey was laid off during the financial crisis, and was blessed to be able to go to The French Pastry School. From there we started boiling bagels out of our condo in Hyde Park, and it exploded from there. In 2011 we rented a kitchen in Bridgeport and expanded our customer base across the city, selling to various cafes, university cafes, hotels, and delis. We started searching for our first retail location in late 2012, and finally landed in our gorgeous spot at 2461 N. Lincoln Ave in early 2014. We are so thankful to be here in this neighborhood with such welcoming people.

Save the Styrofoam for takeout! The best part was that we stayed for a couple of hours and no one hovered over us, or made us feel like we had to leave. As for the coffee itself, it was just okay. Not bad, but not memorable either. That's a shame too, because the space is so comfy. Still, there are plenty of other coffee spots on the North Side - and this just gives me a reason to explore others in the neighborhood.

I literally live an hour away without traffic and even longer with traffic, but I make sure to stop by or send someone else to get it for me at least once a month or more. I love the amazing cakes that are so delicious and unique but on top of that, it is Asian owned, LGBTQ supporting, etc. A lot has changed since their little storefront with no seating. The bakery is now a full on cafe and I'm so happy to see how much they've grown and how successful they are. And while it is glorious, I will say I miss the sweet neighborhood charm and great customer service it used to have. Getting in touch with the bakery through phone or text can be tough and to be honest, sometimes one of the people working there is kind of...very mean. It had me questioning if I should keep coming back. I just love this bakery so much though and being raised by parents that had a small food business, I can't help but want to support. I had a particularly difficult last minute request for the bakery a few weeks ago and I was reminded why this place is so great. It had been YEARS since I made this specific request, which was an order for a slice of cake for every flavor and a cupcake for every flavor. This is a BIG and time consuming request, especially if it's last minute. Unfortunately I come to the city whenever the traffic isn't atrocious, so it's always last minute. Dom absolutely pulled through though. Even though there were other employees there (I saw two others but one disappeared and then another male was kind of walking around the cafe and such), Dom took this giant request and fulfilled it himself. The other gentleman (not the mean person previously mentioned) was actually who I made the request to, but he told Dom to do it. I was kind of confused why they didn't do it together but idk, maybe the other guy isn't allowed to handle food? Who knows. Regardless, this request obviously took a long time and the line was getting longer; people were getting a little restless but Dom stayed calm but was swift. I swear he was moving faster than most people in the industry could with a cake knife like that. He was not impatient or rude to me at all. He was just there to do his job as fast and well as possible. It's so rare to see that type of work ethic. He is also so obviously proud of the bakery and the food they serve which makes you feel good about being a patron there. So although I continue to have an unpleasant experience with one particular employee there, Dom keeps my love for this bakery alive. He reminds me of what this bakery was like when they first opened their doors. I hope Dom is cherished there and I bet he is considering his work ethic. I will continue to support this bakery and I recommend everyone else to support as well. It may not be that small little shop anymore but Dom is a reminder of the heart of the place.

After my two-hour wait, I was told at the register that the black truffle croissant was sold out. However, I kept seeing fresh trays of them being brought out--presumably to fulfill online orders. It was incredibly disappointing to wait that long outside only to miss out on a signature item that was in front of my eyes. Breakfast Sandwich-- Loaded with longanisa, hash brown, eggs, and cheese. The crust was thin and crispy, with a large air cavity, making it very soft and fluffy. The salted egg yolk has just the right balance of sweetness and saltiness, and wasn't too cloying. Garlic Cheese Brioche Bun蒜香奶酪麵包: Perhaps its more Taiwanese name is "八蒜包" (Eight Garlic Bun). Its appearance and taste were very similar to those I've had at Taiwanese bakeries in mainland China. The cheese and garlic flavors were very strong, but the bread itself was slightly coarse. Hojicha Latte: The whole milk was very milky, but the hojicha flavor felt a little weak. However, it's already great to find a tea latte that's not very sweet.
