Really nice spot for espresso style coffee. It's located right on the University of Toledo campus and has a modern, industrial vibe. On a family road trip drive from Ann Arbor, MI to Cleveland, OH, I was searching for a place to get caffeinated. Based on Yelp reviews, I was able to find this nice cafe in Toledo (which did not have many promising options for coffee beyond Starbucks). Service at the BREW coffee bar was friendly and professional. During the summer, it was not crowded.

My first time here I know it's a little out of the way it's by the college that's why. I got a small mocha it was $6 a little expensive if you ask me for a small but I would still come back at some point Lots of room to sit down most of the people inside are younger around my age 24-30 or so. Everyone seemed nice and it wasn't noise or quiet inside just the right level of noise.

A really comfy coffee shop near the university! I decided to check out this place on a Sunday morning and it was bustling with people studying, reading, or just hanging out. There was plenty of seating around the coffee bar area and even outdoor tables. Parking wasn't an issue as there is a large parking lot around the back of the building. They have a variety of freshly brewed coffee options including local drips. If you're not a fan of coffee, they also have plenty of different teas for you to try. Their bakery is packed from freshly made croissants to bagels to brownies. They even have a variety of empanadas. I ended up getting the lentil and vegetable one. I personally loved the lentil one, it was very flavorful and filling. The veggie was good, but not as good as the lentil. Will definitely be coming back to enjoy some of their other options!

Lots of places to work, charge devices, and collaborate. Definitely a good study spot. Not too quiet but not too loud. Would definitely come back. Got an oat milk latte and it was great, but they've got a huge variety of drip coffee and coffee beans to go. Baristas were friendly and knowledgeable. Overall great place.

Honestly was the only place open. Can't say that there was anything wrong with it, just felt a little too corporate, I prefer small independent. Anyway, I was just passing through town, I'm sure it fits the bill for the local college students.

I wanted soo bad to love this place because I had seen so many great reviews about it but gosh! Once in a while I get tired of going to the big brands like Starbucks or Bigby and scout around for a local hub but I was a bit disappointed with this one. PROS: Great space for students or for anyone in general who wants to snack on something while doing work. Great service and lovely staff. Free WiFi . Close to UT. There are board games there as well so it is a good space to lounge with friends. CONS: I ordered the pumpkin spice latte and blueberry muffin which came to $6.23 (pro-tip: if you check in on yelp when you get to the coffee shop you'll get 10% off). The coffee wasn't all that great. Plus the muffin tasted like the dough was still raw. It was really difficult to eat. There also wasn't a lot of options for pastries. Overall it's a nice coffee spot just didn't meet my taste. Would 6/10 recommend.

Love the new location! Super convenient and I love how roomy it is now! I had the matcha latte with almond milk which was very smooth and not too sweet! I would have preferred a stronger matcha flavor but it was still good!

Great place to hang out w friends, by yourself and people watch, business meeting, do you school work, or simply have a cup of Joe. I have become increasingly tired of Starbucks, but less so of other chain coffeehouses. That said, I always seek out the independent coffeehouses. Mostly, I was sold on the name (Rustbelt) of this coffeehouse in Downtown Toledo, just a few blocks from the small cluster of downtown mid-rises. Inside, it has the open floor plan with exposed ceilings up above, which works very well here and fits the industrial Rust Belt mood. The seating options were to my liking: big butcher block type tables meant to be shared, smaller tables, and upholstered seating with coffee tables. I wish I could have stayed at Rustbelt longer. It was a warm and humid summer day and I had an iced tea and a pastry. The items were tasty. The pricing was fair and the service was unremarkable, but did lean toward being good natured. Parking is available right in front along the street, should you want to keep an eye on your car. That said, I couldn't get a read on the location ... it seemed that there were other eateries and bars nearby, so maybe that meant it was okay. Also, I couldn't figure out where the customer base came from. Usually, bohemian coffeehouses have bohemian enclaves nearby where the bohemian people live. I didn't see any, or maybe I didn't look long enough. I couldn't imagine them being suburbanites. Lastly, I believe I've always seen Rust Belt spelled as two words. If they want to stylize this and go with one word, that's their prerogative. So, what you have here at Rustbelt Coffee are good tea/coffee with pastries to choose from, fair prices, decent service, and a spacious open interior plan where the climate control system was working very well. That sounds like 4 stars to me.

They roast their own coffee beans and have them on display for purchase just under the cash register. Most of the bags I looked at, beans had been roasted in the last week so they are fresh! I love that they make their syrups in house to give the coffee better flavor. I originally wanted a Lavender latte but they were out of the syrup. I pivoted to the Salted Caramel Latte. The beans had a good medium roast flavor to them, syrup flavor was subtle but present, but my drink could have been hotter. My husband got a Masala Chai Latte. We noticed his drink was made from a chai concentrate bought; it overall was ok. I recommend staff labeling drink cups going forward as they couldn't remember which was which after placing on the counter. Either way, this was a great coffee shop stop and offers some great seasonal options.

Our lattes were well made, very tasty, and not too sweet. When I asked about a drip coffee refill it was only $1. The only problem we had was that the coffee was not hot. Otherwise, we thought this was a nice, relaxing stop in downtown Perrysburg.
