We came here about an hour before closing on a Saturday afternoon. It was not busy at all! My husband got a hot toasted marshmallow latte, and I got a frozen S'mores coffee. He really enjoyed his latte, but mine wasn't great. Neither of us wanted to drink it, which is wild because he usually finishes all my coffee drinks. It just tasted off, and I was very disappointed. I remember this place years ago and always remembered the flavors of all the different lattes. I be ordered the ham and cheese pretzel, a potato chip cookie, bacon cheddar and chive scone and a Lightning Big Latte. Everything was absolutely delicious and I quickly remembered why I loved this place. While I sat and enjoyed my brunch and latte I noticed quite a few people coming in and out with their own mugs. I saw this coffee shop online and I wanted to stop in and try it! This was a cool, laid back spot to grab some coffee . The vibe was really laid back and welcoming. I ask the host what she recommended and she recommended the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Latte. Which was phenomenal. Buckeye was a mocha with peanut butter flavor - well balanced and not too sweet, which is a rare thing these days. Usually I order my sweetened drinks half sweet, but I forgot to here and it was so nice to not have to worry about that here. Located on the cutest block of downtown, near the water and the parks for a nice stroll if you have the time! Otherwise they have seating both inside and out and a small food menu if you're hungry too. They have their specialty seasonal menu on the chalk board (in the picture) and then also have your classic coffee drinks and flavors (mocha, caramel, vanilla)! Other than us and a couple other customers the shop was mostly empty. Service was average, they seemed pretty efficient although drinks came out out of order, and they were not especially friendly but got the job done. The seating area was a nice cozy size, but many of the tables had not been cleaned off so it wasn't especially welcoming or clean. I really am into coffee houses lately, ironic since I don't drink coffee. I like the vibe, I like the neighborhood feel, I really like the food options and non-coffee drinks at this one. Oh, and in case you need to hear from a coffee drinker, my husband digs the coffee here and says to try one of the monthly specials. The service has always been over the top friendly. They have a small area where you can purchase mugs, hats, coffee beans, etc. I'm a big fan of their biscuits and the bacon jam. Last time we visited they were out of bacon jam so I tried their pesto and it was amazing. Give this little neighborhood joint a try. It does get busy on the weekend and if you order food you may be in for a small wait but they have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating so grab a chair and enjoy your drink while you wait. read more

The only thing bad I have to say about Maddie and Bella's is the lack of seating. During the weekends it's very hard to find a seat at the Toledo location as well as the perrysburg location. I ordered an Americano - apparently only comes in one size and it's a bit small. But it was among the best tasting I have had. It was very sweet and caramelly tasting, and very smooth. We got two egg and cheese sandwiches with avocado, one on a biscuit and one on a pretzel bun, and couldn't decide whose was better. Today I experienced Cascara iced tea for the first time. Maddie & Bella import kegs of this slightly carbonated tea made from coffee cherries and my oh my is it good! It has a hint of coffee flavor but is also a little fruity and the bubbles are a delight. They also have a cold brewed nitro coffee on hand, and most folks seem to agree it's ALMOST too strong. But you won't hear anyone complaining. It's a serious brew.
