Toasty was the first stop in my friend and I'd beer road trip for the day. I'd never been to…read moreGibsonville before but was excited to see the giant model train set that's prominently featured in the middle of town (Known as the Gibsonville Garden RR - look for details online for when it operates). This would make for a fun outing with the kids as there is also a red caboose stationed in town as well. They certainly embrace their railroad history. On to what you're probably looking for, a review of the brewery. There is street parking available and a good number of spots. Not sure if it's free or not during the week. We arrived right at 12, so there were only three people there. The interior is mostly white, but they either chiseled away or put drywall up to expose brick. My friend and I both ordered the Wexford Red Irish ale. It was your typical amber beer. You could choose from several IPAs or other dark beers. Overall, nothing too memorable but a nice spot to stop by when you have time.

The staff is very friendly here and allows you to sample whatever beer you'd like before you make a choice. I love supporting local businesses and breweries. I've only had 2 of their beers but today that's gonna change! I will follow up with another update to this review shortly! Update: Beers I've had 1. Doppnator 2. Wee Bit Export 3. Gateway of India, IPA 4. Industrious Porter 5. Warrior Knight 6. Alt Refresh 7. Calibrator 8. Retro BSA So far all of these beers are great except the British Strong Ale which may not be my cup of tea and the industrious Porter. However, the porter tasted good I just couldn't drink a full glass. It's a heavy beer but that's expected with porters.

This review is really a 3.5 star rounded up. It's been 8 years since my last visit to Whitsett and…read morethe Red Oak Lagerhaus and Biergarten and I was excited to return. This visit was prompted by the recent opening of the Wursthaus that is serving up food consistently in addition to the food truck that is often on property. The inside of the lagerhaus is as lovely as I remember. I got a 6 beer flight so I could sample most of their delicious beers. There was steady business but it didn't feel too busy/full inside. Some people were opting to be outside at the fire pits. Not me. We stepped out to the Wursthaus to get lunch. The menu is pretty limited: Brat, Brat bites (cut up with no bun), frankfurter, and pretzel. Not sure if there is a launch menu or if this will be permanent. I got the hot dog with onions and I requested the mustard (that you "HAVE TO REQUEST" per the sign). It was fine. The mustard wasn't included so I had to return to the wursthaus window to get it. The bun was soft and the frankfurter a good size, overhanging the bun. The limited topping options and the DIY nature of the mustard was a little disappointing. My biggest gripe with this place is it feels like going to my grandparents house: there are so many rules. Don't back into parking spaces No kids Don't step on the grates Open door slowly No outside food And maybe there were more. Just feels really uptight for a nice space that probably should feel more relaxed. :shrug Still, I'll return for beer in the future.

Not your traditional Mexican restaurant but the food is good and a good price. My daughter's favorite go-to are the truffle fries (see, not authentic Mexican). They are yummy with good seasoning and the kick of feta cheese. The chips were well seasoned and salsa tasty. You walk up and order at the counter but they did come and check on us to make sure we had everything we need. Very friendly. There is both indoor and outdoor seating and outside has games you can play. As there t-shirt says "all you need is love and tacos" and the painting says "chippin, dippin, margarita sippin at Mission Tacos. Facts.

Sat outside where large option of regular chairs and picnic tables are. If you are into frozen drinks they seemed to have a huge selection (we are not) self serve white plastic forks and napkins and tap water in a cooler if you don't order a drink (tea is served in Peak bottle so no refills). I ordered 3 tacos and was unable to mix protein (chicken, smoked pulled pork, garlic butter shrimp, or skirt steak) so I got 3 of the skirt steak tacos. Youth vibe, low service to zero service (self serve so enjoy your 15% gratuity imposed) so now to food - tacos were stinking awesome! Flavor of the fresh veggies and sauce and meat all together are excellent! Also, the chips were amazing - different - fresh and had a spice mixture dusted on them - excellent. Food is solid but I didn't care for the other aspects. If your into alcohol, I suspect this is a home run. It's a 3 for me only because how good the food is. I did leave hungry.
