Well, last time I had a good experience this time wasn't as good. Seems that the girl at the counter was too focused on talking to the male employees there and was annoyed with anything I asked. I ordered wings and got all flats. I asked her why I got all flats hoping she would offer to switch out some pieces for drums but she simply stated "I guess that's what the cook got out the bag" and laughed it off back to her post chit chatting with her friends. I like the aesthetic of the place. It doesn't try too hard to be fancy or casual. The food is great with the only exception being the bison burger which is just a sausage link in between two buns. Have been a customer here for a few years now, but my last visit caused my to completely lose trust in this business. I've frequently had 'well-done' burgers come out extra rare (hardly cooked) when ordering takeout, but most recently I bit into my burger to find it completely raw. This is completely unacceptable, as the safety of raw ground beef is much riskier than other beef cuts. Not sure if this is an issue with the grill temp, or a specific cook who doesn't leave the patties on for long enough, but someone is bound to get sick over this. The servers are nice, but unfortunately, it's difficult to send food back if you've already driven home. It's very sad to see this quality inconsistency, as the ingredients used are typically top notch, and the ambiance of the restaurant is pleasant. read more

I didn't eat here, but had the sampling of five beers. I am a bit of a connoisseur and gave them all pretty good marks . The Slauncher is very good imperial IPA. Ditches and a Hoes was surprisingly good for a sour fruity beer. Lucky me. Just a couple of blocks from home. Won't be my last time here. I'm sure. Our favorite local family-friendly watering hole with good food and good service from friendly people. The big open seating makes it a great place to meet up with friends. This is the closest thing to a "Gastropub" that Visalia's ever seen! It can get busy and loud but that's half the charm! The ambiance can be extra fun if there is a game on tv, fantastic choices of beer available all from local breweries; you truly can't go wrong with any beer. Our visit to the Kaweah taproom was extraordinary! We just spent 2 days visiting the local national parks and were thirsty for some brews and cooked food. This taproom was well located just half an hour out from the parks, was open at operational hours and had a seat yourself policy on arrival all of which we loved. Their food menu was surprisingly innovative for a taproom, for example they had a burger with a glazed donut to substitute a bun! I opted for the cluck cluck chicken sandwich which had a well seared chicken breast, but light on the flavor. My partner got the spicy bison sandwich which was the opposite, very flavorful with salty bison sausages and onions, perfectly paired with a caramelized onion/fig sweet sauce! We got a mussel dish to share, and boy was it delicious. The sauce was balanced with citrusy flavor with garlic overtones, and the mussels were well cooked and plentiful. The garlic bread it's served with soaks up all the garlicy buttery goodness and pairs really well. We left the brewroom with very full and satisfied stomachs. Ofc their brews are the home made staple and they had a great variety at very good pricing for drafts. We both had the hazy IPA which hit the spot. Ordered a Kaweah cheeseburger. Came out and looked great. Once I started eating it the first bite was done 2nd medium rare the 3rd extremely rare. It grossed me out. I left 75% on the plate. Usually when someone leaves the majority of their food uneaten a good server, if they hadn't checked with you after your food arrives, should look at it and ask if everything was alright. Even though there was only one other table of people neither of the servers checked in with me. I finally waved one down and ask where do I pay, where I was sitting, or at the register. I told her I thought the hamburger was way too rare and she said that's how they make them. She took my money and I left. I feel sorry for the 2 middle aged servers there. Stopped by on the drive home from our trip to Merced. Was happy to see that it has indoor seating especially with the 100 degree weather outside. My wife and I ordered a 10 ounce glass of Slauncher (9%ABV) and a 16 ounce glass of Talus All About It (7%ABV). We also ordered a tri-tip sandwich with french fries and a spicy bison sausage sandwich with french fries. The tri-tip sandwich was very good and the vision sausage was good too. But was served; 2 grill cheese sandwich plates and a donut burger. The waitress searched the place for order, then returned giving it to our party complimentary. The crew accepted and devoured. Many ordered burgers and some burger bowls. Everyone enjoyed each choice. The place filled up within an hour. The service staff was scarce, and could tell they were somewhat overwhelmed.
