Very very underrated place in Porterville! Food was super cost effective and good! They have a really good lunch special for $16 you can choose (2) a pasta, salad or sandwich. It is very cute inside and nice for brunch! They also have party rooms to rent for work or fun. Definitely coming back and would definitely recommend for locals. Service was timely and the server Yvette was super attentive and friendly. Overall 8/10 :)

    Steak loaded French fries

Beautiful dining area, pleasant staff. However, the steak-loaded French fries had too many flavors that contradicted each other. The meat was extremely salty and dry, the sirachi-type sauce too thick and conflicted with the vinegar pickled onions.

Beautiful space, great cocktails, and top notch food. We found this gem on Yelp while in town and were pleasantly surprised. The staff were also very responsive, warm and welcoming. I will definitely be back when in the area.

Dry chicken , hard carrots , baked potato and broccoli

Seen so many good reviews so decided to try this place , it was a bit busy so I knew it was going to take a little longer which we didn't mind . Good food takes time . So a while later i received my chicken and it was super dry , the carrots were super hard . The zucchini was burnt but raw inside. The side salad I had ordered with my meal was literally brown .i had to pick out the brown pieces of lettuce I was so surprised the waitress even brought it out like that Tbh . The steak that we ordered was okay . It really sucks because I actually wanted to like this place. This was actually our second time giving this place a try . I love the vibes this place has . So much potential . Maybe the cook had a bad day that day . If you would've told me the cook had something against us I would've believed it based on the taste of the food . lol I wish we would've had a better experience. The waitresses were nice .

Came with my girlfriend to have an special date. The place was almost empty and our meal was somewhat disappointing. The Menu is not original at all, and is very limited. Drinks were ok, ambiance and decor are the same as the last owners left and they did put some nice flowers at the Entrance, very stylish! Hopefully the owners put some life into this nice establishment, live music, monthly events, delicious appetizers perhaps? The potencial is there... but without exquisite and fresh food, the restaurant won't be catching in the future my attention.

It's an Italian restaurant with Italian and Mexican dishes. It's located in the heart of the downtown Porterville. The downtown is the cutest with its charming brick sidewalks and modern street lamps with an old fashion look. The restaurant has a secure back parking lot with an entrance. Or you can enter from the front, the street parking is angled lots so no parallel to parking fussiness. They were are able to accommodate large parties if you make reservations in advance. My large-ish group were even able to get separate checks. Appreciate that. Our waitress did a great job handling our table and her other tables. We were immediately served our drinks and complimentary focaccia bread and olive oil n vinegar was brought to the table. I ordered the chicken parmigiana ($20) and requested no mozzarella cheese on top. The waitress informed me that there is some parmesan cheese sprinkled on the spaghetti noodles. Very attentive of her to ask. The plate and food came out hot. The chicken filet was thick but all so tender and moist. Nice amount of breading and without the mozzarella on top just like I requested. Excellent. The serving size was ample. The spaghetti sauce was tasty with a touch of sweetness. Not harsh tasting at all. The noodles were cooked to a perfect doneness. Having a HFCS aversion, I forgot to ask about the sauce but I had no effects. So I'm going go out on a limb and say the sauce has no HFCS.

One of them suggested we try Don Vinos as they have a decent bar area. We went on Friday evening and it wasn't a little busy but not so much that it was obnoxious. Also, even though it was busy, our waitress was on it. As soon as we sat down, she brought over menus and took our drink orders. When I asked about what kind of margaritas they had, she informed me which ones were made with fresh in-house squeezed juice. They all sounded amazing but I opted for the standard with fresh squeezed lemon/lime juice. Our drinks were brought to us not 5 minutes later and then we gave our orders. We ordered the chips and guacamole as an appetizer for the table. It was brought out shortly after we ordered it and was a good portion for 4 people. However, I just wish the guac had more salt as it was a bit bland. For an entree, I opted for the Chili Verde Pizza, which seemed to be the perfect item from this place (an Italian themed restaurant with several Mexican dishes). And, oh man...was this amazing. They use the chili verde sauce as the sauce for the pizza, which is brilliant. Also, the pork had just enough spice. All of my friends and I enjoyed our entrees except for one: A friend of mine had ordered the Fettuccini Alfredo he had on a previous trip to Don Vino's but told me that the new preparation was different from his last time having the dish and it was not as great as before. Other than that, we all finished our dishes and were satisfied. I definitely recommend Don Vino's as a must go in Porterville. The only things keeping me from giving it a 5-star review were the guac being a bit bland and the consistency of dishes being a bit off for my friend. Also, if you don't like super loud restaurants, this might be a skip as the acoustics in there are loud. Other than that, the servers are attentive, the drinks are delicious, and the food is good.

For brunch, I ordered the steak and potatoes, and it was sooo good. Everything was cooked really well and had great flavor, definitely felt like a more upscale brunch compared to your typical spots. One of my favorite parts though is the pastries they bring out -- such a nice touch and always super good. I also tried their cappuccino and it was just okay, nothing amazing but not bad either. The service here is always amazing, which honestly makes such a difference. I think the brunch is better than dinner, oops hot take! But everyone is super attentive and welcoming, and the atmosphere feels classy but still comfortable. Definitely a solid spot for a nicer brunch or dinner, I'll for sure keep coming back.

Ambiance: if you like rustic chic, western with a touch of modern, then you'll love this place. Food: here's where they lost a star. The food was good, really good, but the prices didn't match the quality. I had the filet, it was cooked perfectly. But almost $60 for an 8 oz filet with no sides - I felt like it was excessive. Cheyenne in Kingsburg, steak is a touch better, and the sides and bread are amazing (they're included) for the same price. Again, it's really good, just a tad spendy.

Upon arrival, there was no staff member to greet or guide us, which left us uncertain if they had availability. Eventually, a host--whom I assume was a staff member--assisted my wife and me in finding a table. We requested our previous server, but he was not available that day, which we sadly accepted. To start service during our visit was notably slow. While I recognize there was only one bartender on duty, our appetizers (or "tapas") arrived before our drinks, which had yet to be served. Our server, Dakota, took our order but was not seen again at our table; instead, she appeared to be engaged in conversations with other staff members. Another employee delivered our food, and was very kind . He labeled everything he set down and loved the fact he had gloves on. Nice touch Halfway through our meal, there was no follow-up until she came back asking if we needed boxes--at which point we felt somewhat rushed. This was not the quality of service I have come to expect from previous visits that the tall gentleman with glasses who served us on prior occasions provided . I hope our next visit will reflect the higher standards we have experienced with said server.

We started by sharing the wedge salad. I am a blue cheese girl, and this blue cheese was BLUE CHEESE. Rich, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. I could have happily made a meal out of that alone. We also ordered the calamari, which came with two dipping sauces. One was a sweet and sour-style nuoc cham sauce that was incredible. The other was a fresh, flavorful tartar sauce. The calamari itself was prepared perfectly--light, crispy, not oily at all, and cooked just right. For dinner, I had the pistachio-crusted salmon over vegetable quinoa. The salmon was excellent. The quinoa was good, but probably just not my personal style. My husband ordered the pork chop with polenta, and wow--both were fantastic. That polenta was especially memorable. We sat at a table in the bar area (that's our vibe), and we had the pleasure of being served by Orlando, a newer bartender. He was outstanding. From the moment we sat down, we felt welcomed and genuinely taken care of. He introduced us to a mezcal that complemented our meals perfectly and was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. Top-notch customer service. This isn't an inexpensive everyday dinner spot, but the quality of the food, drinks, and service made it absolutely worth it. We had a fantastic experience and will definitely be back.
