The easiest access is: facing the front entrance, follow the sidewalk to the left to the corner of the building. Using this outside entrance saves walking down a couple long hallways if you went in the main entrance. See photo for hours currently posted on the entry door. We could have timed our arrival better if we'd known this. Food: Very tasty food, well prepared and presented. Very fair prices. Two complete meals are available to choose from for lunch and dinner, typically one with meat and one vegetarian/vegan--appx $8. We had today's vegan choice which included stuffed zucchini blossoms (really, and wonderful!), rice pilaf, and a great tossed green salad. A sheet was available listing the choices to be served each meal for the month. Evidently, a salad bar is normally available as an option, but it was not set up when we arrived right at the start of the dinner hours. It would be nice if the monthly menu sheet were somehow on line so those of us not normally in the hospital could check what is offered any specific day or meal (in case what is offered does not appeal to us!).

It comes with some yogurt, tamarind sauce and green hot sauce, with a sprinkling of red onion and cilantro (or parsley?). I could not eat it all because it was a lot and rich, but I am very happy. The naan bread was very tender, and also had a little bit of a richness to it. The meal also came with three sauces. A yogurt sauce, a green sauce, and a tamarind sauce. The yogurt sauce, I put into the curry bowl, which just added to the flavor, the green sauce was a bit too spicy for me, so I left that one to the side, , and the tamarind sauce I used as a dip for the naan. I really loved the tamarind sauce. It was sweet, and just a little bit tangy. . Just right. Both sauces were extremely good. It was a very generous portion, enough that I had plenty left over for a very nice breakfast. It reheated very well in the microwave in the morning. You could also find their food at Mariposa Market in the refrigerator case near the sandwiches. The Grab and Go just recently opened next to the Shanachie Pub. I don't think a lot of people know it is there because the opening was very quiet. It is not a restaurant, but a place to pick up Hatake Farm's delicious sushi and bento box offerings. I enjoy the sushi and picking up a roll has been a weekly thing for me when I didn't feel like cooking dinner for more than a year. I had never ordered on-line however. The other day, I was really curious about the new Grab and Go and ventured in. The space is beautiful. It is neat as a pin, quiet, and serene. The refrigerator is filled with SO MANY MORE OPTIONS than either their on-line menu or the offerings at the market. The prices are extremely reasonable. These rolls are made for taste with big nicely trimmed pieces of fish. I picked the hamachi and avocado roll which was big and only $12.50. The hamachi (my favorite raw fish) was really fresh and well cut. Avocado was perfectly ripe. It was absolutely delicious and probably the best sushi roll ever. It really is best to come to the Grab and Go, rather than the market, (although we love our market). But this is better. There are also a variety of lunch/dinner boxes that are simply stunning, with meat or fish, rice, home-pickled veggies and onions and lovely sauces. They also had a Poki bowl that I HAVE to try next because I love poki and this looked like it came off a page in a magazine. I also have to say something about the rice. They say a sushi chef must spend years perfecting rice before the sushi master will allow a student to do anything else. I believe it. Rice is harder than it looks. It is important that sushi rice is not mushy and that it is the right texture and that you can perceive every grain. I rarely see that. This guy has it down. The rice is perfect. It is really good. Right now, he has rolls, boxes, and poki bowls. I would love it if he started making nigiri! You should absolutely make it a point to come here as this is outstanding sushi, by any measure.
