I was in a local motel, and didn't want to go out. I found this place on DoorDash. There was a very decent sized menu. I called ahead to ask if I could order my curry mild, and he said oh, they're not spicy. The guy on the phone was very nice. I ordered the spinach chicken. Chicken in a spinach, curry sauce, with rice, red onion and cilantro. I also ordered naan bread on the side. The food came very quickly, and it was amazing! The spinach curry chicken was very good. It was rich, but not overly so. The red onion and cilantro added to the flavor. The chicken was delicious, and very tender. . I loved the spinach curry sauce, it had just enough of a "zip" that I noticed that it was there. Hardly spicy at all. The rice was wonderfully fluffy. The naan bread was very tender, and also had a little bit of a richness to it. The meal also came with three sauces. A yogurt sauce, a green sauce, and a tamarind sauce. The yogurt sauce, I put into the curry bowl, which just added to the flavor, the green sauce was a bit too spicy for me, so I left that one to the side, , and the tamarind sauce I used as a dip for the naan. I really loved the tamarind sauce. It was sweet, and just a little bit tangy. . Just right. Both sauces were extremely good. It was a very generous portion, enough that I had plenty left over for a very nice breakfast. It reheated very well in the microwave in the morning. Delicious Indian food in an unassuming little restaurant tucked in a corner of a grocery store. We had a combo plate with lamb and chicken chili curries. Both curries were incredibly flavorful and packed with chunks of tender meat. The chicken chili was slightly sweet (and not spicy at all, despite the name) and contrasted nicely with the lamb. The plate came with rice, yogurt, and naan, and was a generous portion, enough to be a light meal for two. Service was super friendly. This review has been on hold for too long. So on Wednesday I was over the hill for a doctors appointment and a bit of shopping. I was famished on my way home and remembered one of you our amazing friends telling us about an Indian restaurant in Willits... so I had to try it. As I approached there was a ton of kids on break for lunch from school milling about. As I entered I was greeted warmly and looked around. Nestled within this convenience store is a little restaurant. As you can see their menu is copious. Interestingly at this time of a Hindu festival it's all vegetarian/vegan until the 25th, I wasn't daunted in the least. I was given samples and everything from the Dal to the Bhaingan was divine. I had a mushroom dish, cabbage dish and an eggplant to go with my rice and naan. The portion sizes are huge, flavor amazing and service was friendly and professional. Try the tamarind sauce, it is perfection. I recommend that all of you stop in and give them a chance, please tell us what you think. I will be back for their Goat curry . I've been coming here for years & the quality of food & care has never dipped. tucked away off Main Street, it's easily over looked, but if you walk or drive by & see it. Go in, even if you don't intend on getting food, get a drink & say hello. The Indian food is the best in Northern California in my opinion. Stunningly good Indian food in this backwater. This is a convience store run by some subcontinental Indians, and it just happens to have one of the best Indian restaurants north of the Bay area tucked into a corner of the store. Food is served cafeteria style, with you picking one meaty dish and two veggie dishes. All were great, and, it seems like on different days he has different dishes on offer. We did not get to try the Naan (it was all out) but he gave us rice and threw in some somosas, which were delicitious. read more

Delicious Indian food with quite a good variety of curries, both veg and non. We had all of the veggie curries that day plus the coconut butter chicken. I have been neither so surprised nor so delighted by a dining experience as the meal I had at TNT Market last night. At first glance, this place is your standard convenience store, aisle after aisle of daily vittles and once-in-a-while gas station indulgences, plus all the booze and cigarettes you'd ever need. Clean, amenable, but nothing I'd ever get fired up enough to write a Yelp review about. Little did I know, I was in for a 5-star feast of the ages. I showed up in Willits to visit a buddy (Saturday night), who is friends with TNT's owner, Peter. He'd asked Peter beforehand if TNT Market had leftovers from their Friday Night Indian food feasts - which you should attend sometime, you will NOT be disappointed. Peter told us he's going to expand the works to an all-you-can-eat buffet 3 days/week, for the win! Also adding a pizza menu soon - and Peter said he could make it work. So, I was expecting reheated leftovers. What we got was anything but. Peter extended the most gracious hospitality I have EVER experienced at an eatery. This is not an exaggeration. He prepared a full new meal from scratch with 3 full-sized entrees (a chili cheese vegetarian dish, a goat curry, and a chicken curry), along with rice, naan, yogurt dip, a sweet/spicy chutney, and a shredded carrot/walnut/sweetened condensed milk dessert, and a sweet, milky, cheese dessert that defies description. Not to mention, incredible hot chai. In a word: gourmet. I've eaten at incredible Indian places; this was the real deal. I wouldn't go so far as to say it was the absolute best I've ever had, but it was darn close. SOOO excited about the mountain of leftovers. All of this, served on delicate fine china, with gold leaf accents and ornate floral detailing. No, I'm not kidding. Amazing, right?! I've never seen plates so nice, not even in expensive, reputable restaurants. He told us that when he serves the high school kids who come in, they get paper plates. Save the good stuff for customers who are going to treat it with respect and love! I would have been a bit heartbroken if I'd broken any of it - these were pieces from his personal collection. We were the only two people at the store for the most part, sitting at the dinky tables up front, and Peter regaled us with Willits lore and stories of his life and journey to America. He's a kind and delightful person, and I know that he's going to succeed with his plans to expand. When asked about the price, he said, "Pay what you want." What?! Wow. That does NOT happen. Blown away. Don't be mistaken: This is not a full-on restaurant. It's really more of a convenience store. But if you give Peter a couple days notice, he said he's happy to make you a meal because, plain and simple, he and his wife LOVE cooking and being hospitable. Fourteen years ago, TNT was THE place for lunch-hour shenanigans and after school video game binges. They had a really greasy chicken and onion rings and stuff and they also had Mortal Kombat back when a video game where you could tear someone's spine out was a super big deal. I have no idea what TNT is like now but I imagine (and hope) not much has changed. Next time I'm in Willits I'll have to go by and eat some greasy chicken and play whatever crazy-assed fighting game the kids are playing these days. Tikka masala is very delicious. The only thing I would say is make it a little more affordable. But other than that it's great!

This place is amazing. The owners are truly nice and the food is even better. They always have 6 or 7 amazing dishes ready to go. This place has the best fried chicken in Mendocino county, they even have a sign to prove it. I have been eating the chicken for a few years when in in the area and having a craving. Sometime last month I stopped by and saw a sign that said no Indian food until a certain date, so I had to ask and found out someone was out of town so I couldn't wait till they came back. TNT has a small, amazingly good Indian buffet. Menu changes - the other night I picked up fragrant yellow rice, a delicious rich and spicy chicken curry, cauliflower and potato, tamarind and green sauces. There is usually a goat curry, other chicken and meat options of various spiciness, and some sort of vegetarian curry, say chickpeas. You can add samosa and naan. It makes a wonderful to-go dinner, tastes deliciously home made - I can't wait to pick up dinner again. read more

I have several friends that highly recommended this place. And I love Indian food, not available here in inland Mendocino County. So was excited to try it out. Maybe we hit a bad day and it was a fluke. But it was pretty mediocre. We had carry out.. between the 2 meals we had Chicken Tikka, coconut chicken, cauliflower and potato , and garbanzos along w rice and garlic naan. Both chicken dishes were nice and spicy but soooooo salty I couldn't taste the spices much, just the salt. Couldn't even really tell the difference, again so much salt it masked other flavors. The chicken had a lot of bones. The cauliflower potato dish was good except the potatoes weren't fully cooked. The green chutney on the rice was good , but such a tiny amount. Like maybe less than a teaspoon. Anyway, I might try it again but wouldn't go out of my way to go there. Please!!! Less salt. We can always add salt but can't pull it out ! read more

The food here is amazing and the owner is super nice. We were visiting Willits for the weekend and pulled up to TNT just as they were locking up for the night. Knowing no other restaurants in town would still be open, the owner offered to open back up! He specially prepared 2 delicious vegetarian dinners for us and even made fresh naan. T N T has been a staple of our community for a long time; I'm glad it's still kickin yet I'm disappointed with it's current ownership/management. It is/was always meant to be a neighborhood market and yet not only is it more expensive in most not if all categories than any other market in town, (simple price checks confirm EX: both village markets have way better prices and services in all categories) there are also a lot of scammy fees with debit cards, paying for sauces after already paying ridiculous prices for old subpar food, and then what's with all the tude? It used to be a friendly market. The day shift gal is always rude and acts like she is being horribly put out if you ask her the most basic question. Even if you ask nothing of her she isn't pleasant. Other check out folks are barely better. So you only have the option of paying more, in a rude environment, which the store also smells horrible (what's that about) or you have to go way out of the way to do your shopping... But the Village Market folks are awesome, friendly, good prices and run a clean-ship so often it is worth it. Hopefully T N T will reevaluate some things so we can once again enjoy our neighborhood market, and support this local business owner. I get there are things that go on behind the scenes so maybe all these things can't be addressed; in a neighborhood market I would like to think they can. Prices, if you're not making enough get different distributors, or renegotiate contracts. Why should I pay 11 bucks for a six pack when I can get a 12 pack of the same for 3 bucks more right around the corner? The smell, don't know what it comes from but should be an easy fix; there are a variety of remedies; attitudes; easily fixed. Anyone who works with the public should be able to put on a happy face, that is the nature of the business. Lastly, I can't even begin to wonder why this should have to be mentioned (Regardless of if it is or not it makes your business also seem scammy) put prices, clearly labeled on ALL items. As a retailer, it's your responsibility to let people know what they are paying for products even if your products weren't beyond overpriced. read more
