We're in town visiting our son from California, saw Starbucks across the way from Brewed Awakenings but we're the type that like supporting the local spots over the big corporate joints so we decided to stop here. I can give you my take on the coffee, but if you're like me, coffee is coffee!! So you'll have to check this place out for yourself to determine whether or not this place is your cup of tea or not!! What compelled me to write this review was the very welcoming and pleasant demeanor of the two young ladies working here this morning. While busy working hard turning out the drink orders, one of the baristas totally engaged us in conversation. She was attentive, to us and just overall very pleasant in her demeanor. I'm an old school kinda guy so I appreciate the feeling of the good ole days when life was slower and people still cared about each other enough to initiate and carry on a conversation. It's a little thing by today's standards but boy does it impact your day in such a positive way. As if our experience in and of itself wasn't already pleasant enough, a customer ahead of us paid for our coffee order this morning. Some days God's goodness just overfills our cups. Today has the beginnings of being one of those days. Thank you to the two ladies working this morning (8-24-26) and to whoever was nice enough to pay for our coffee order this morning!! The coffee itself here isn't always my favorite, not bad quality or anything just something I gotta be in the mood for, but I always feel super comfortable and everything else here they have is DELIGHTFUL! This is the only place that I can get rose syrup around here, and I typically love the monthly specials! If you like a bolder brew for coffee that's a bit on the darker side I would absolutely recommend this place, and if you're not I'd still recommend their coffee-free drinks and teas! read more

Classic super American kinda coffee place. The speciality lattes are crazy sweet. Got the egg nog latte and spumoni mocha and they were fun flavors to try and were spot on for their target flavors. A few hours later I came crashing down from the sugar high. Got some sort of cookie with vanilla frosting and that was super sweet too. Cute little place. They were quick and friendly. Relatively big parking lot outside so parking was easy too. Not a bad spot if you're in the mood for these kinds of treats. read more

Love the Hazel Dell location! Coffee is strong and always hits the spot for me. Every time I've gone they were super quick and sweet. Not much conversation but that's probably on my part too since I never really try to talk but the baristas aren't going to be like Starbucks baristas that are forced to make a customer connection wether it's genuine or not. They could work on a couple things from barista to another (former) barista but it's such a small stand you really can't expect perfection. There's plenty of other coffee shops you can go be a "Karen" at and these girls do amazing for me whenever I've gone. They have my order memorized and I got my sister hooked on it too. It's a 12oz coconut kailua breve latte. Reminds me of when I use to live on Oahu and not a lot of coffee shops have these syrup flavors in this area. Second time at this one. Okay so they are the only place that does Peanut Butter and Coffee right. Yeah I know some of you will read this and say what! But the others that are PB fans will agree. Their Peanut Butter Chino is the best! If I could have one everyday with out worrying about sugar and calories I would. It's so good. It comes blended automatically. So I am a regular at the one closer to me, but this one is on the way to work. This one was the best one thurs far! I had to get the biggest one since it had been awhile . First time here. Not very friendly workers and the coffee was not made how I asked. I didn't complain, I just left and won't be back again. Unfortunate, as i prefer to support them rather than black rock. $3.52 for a small americano that burnt the heck out of my tongue because they did not put extra creamer as requested, in fact it may be black. Great service from the barista at my visit! I came here on a whim while making my way home to OR. Saw it had decent reviews and wanted to try it out. After bugging the crud out of the poor barista for advice we settled on a Iced Caramel Breve. I let it all settle together and initially it was very strong tasting! Not bitter just very strong. I let it sit for a while so it could meld together a bit more. This helped, it became smooth and delicious. However I could taste a bit more artificial flavoring more than most places and this really throws me off. It almost gets an overly sweet/chemical taste. I had to keep swirling and shaking it around the ice to keep it drinkable. I would definitely order from here again but for the price I paid, I could get a much smoother, tastier drink at my favorite place back home. It's a good place to stop if you're in the area and craving some strong coffee! read more

Great little drive through coffee stand. Friendly people working there, always chipper no matter how early. A bit pricey but it is competitive with the big chains. I appreciate that they have soy milk available for my chai lattes. The punch card is great too - I am one away from a free drink! This one star review is strictly for the barista working when I attempted to get a coffee on my way to work at 6:30 pm on 8/20/18. I pulled in behind a car at the window only to find the driver was engaged in a lengthy conversation with the barista. The barista was not busy making coffee during this conversation. She was at the window gabbing away. It was clear these were two friends having a chat without any concern for a waiting customer. The conversation never ceased even though I sat and waited several minutes. I could've pulled around to the other open window but that was no guarantee the barista would halt her conversation to serve me. I gave up and went to work sans coffee. First world problem, I admit. For me, it's pretty awkward to have people calling me "sweety" and "honey" when they've never met me. I guess that this is what baristas do but they don't do it everywhere. Pretty much all of the baristas do it here because I've come here a few times, always have different baristas, and they always call me "sweety" and "honey" about seven times each time that I go there. I've had baristas do this at other places like at a hospital coffee shop for example but certainly not everywhere. In fact, it makes me feel so uncomfortable that I want to stop going there. Why not just call me ma'am like every other service worker? If I wanted my barista to flirt with me, I would go to one of those bikini coffee places, but I don't want baristas flirting with me! The other thing is that the coffee is only good so far if I get a belgium latte. I've tried a few other drinks and I don't like any of them. Lastly, the most recent time that I gave them my punch card, she gave it back to me without punching it. I had already pulled my car up before looking and then I was kinda irritated but not going to pull in and wait again for it. Lame. read more

Drinks are great, but very slow service. I also tried to get a drink a few days ago and they were out of white mocha (pretty standard ingredient) and the barista immediately tried to send me away instead of offering an alternative. Decided to give it another shot today and their credit card machine is down... I didn't end up getting a drink (no cash), and probably won't be back to try again for a long time. Brewed Awakenings used to be our go to coffee stand - the staff was nice and the service good, and we liked their coffee. We enjoyed that they had a rewards card to thank us for our patronage, too! Well, the mrs and I both had a full card and went to get a coffee treat as our reward for being good customers - and were told "the printed cards are no longer accepted, now we have electronic cards. Your cards are no longer valid." I asked the young barrista if she could please apply our reward to a electronic card and she in no uncertain tone said she wouldn't and I might get a manager to do that, but since there was no manager there that if my wife and I wanted coffee that we would be paying for it. That was the last $10 Brewed Awakenings will likely ever see from us. Dutch Brothers has been very kind to us and has been super nice - even giving me and the Mrs. an extra punch on our card now and then...it's NICE to be appreciated, you know? read more

Decent enough lattes, friendly enough staff. Places with stamp/point cards like Brewed Awakenings (can be used at other locations, too) make it easier to justify going more often than I should, and drive through coffee always makes me smile. I love their dark chocolate mocha! With a milk alternative it's a great non-dairy drink. They have many other delicious drinks as well. Their iced belgian latte is great as well. The baristas are always polite, some more friendly than others. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is that the lines can get very long and it can be quite a wait. read more

Fairly average coffee stand. Wait times can be rather long here and the approaches through the parking lot usually strike me as an accident waiting to happen, but it's near an insanely busy intersection so it must get nice volume. I stop here pretty often and get very good coffee, but it's a bit on the bitter side, so I've actually found soy lattes present the best flavour possible here, and don't really like their other lattes so much, but for whatever reason the soy ones are just extremely excellent and to be recommended. read more

I go here about 5 days a week. Shortly after I began going here, they remembered my order and the only time it wasn't quite right was when I had somebody I didn't recognize. I get a tall 140* caramel breve. They use real, thick, caramel sauce in leu of the liquid pump stuff that Starbucks has and it really makes a difference! I used to go to Starbucks out of convenience but now their coffee just tastes burnt and bitter after going to Brewed for so long. Hazel Dell is definitely my favorite location in town because the girls here are genuinely nice. I've noticed at other locations the girls are very young and can come across snooty. read more

I have never had a bad experience here. I love the 2 locations I frequent.. (@ 78th and 117th) I especially enjoy my 3 favorite drinks.. (black forest - hot or blended - and don't forget the hand dipped chocolate covered cherry..delicious treat!, almond joy hot or iced, and blended peanut butter cino. .) Always puts a smile on my face to have a great beverage...and I appreciate, when I am in the mood to try something new, the ladies are always ready with several recommendations.
