I brought Peet's into corporate meetings, events, and countless mornings that required both caffeine and hope. The consistency was unmatched, and the people--your people--were just as special. Longtime staff who remembered names, orders, and somehow made a coffee chain feel like a neighborhood staple. Then life took me north to the Pacific Northwest--specifically Oregon and Washington--where, let's be honest, "medium roast" reigns supreme (a phrase that still confuses me spiritually). Finding Peet's locations here felt like spotting an old friend in a crowd. And at first, it was! The quality, the AMAZING staff, the experience--it all held up. But lately... what happened? I stopped in for the very first time over the weekend because I wanted to try one of their special drinks. The Dubai Style Chocolate Matcha. The experience was just okay. The service wasn't great, staff didn't seem particularly friendly or welcoming. The drink itself was fine but nothing impressive, especially considering Peet's usual reputation. The drink was very lightly sweet, but I could barely taste the chocolate or the matcha flavor. The only thing I could really taste was the pistachio. Not a bad drink, but I was expecting more. I've only been to this Peet's twice since it is very inconveniently located for me, but the service both times was friendly and the coffee drink and pound I took home were wonderful. Now- let's get to the real thing. Where is the Peet's from Salmon Creek??? Why in the world would they remove a thriving coffee shop and leave our town with just one??? Updated 11/1/23: Unfortunately this Peet's is not as good as it was for my first review. They used to be reliable for freshly roasted coffee beans, but lately the bean counter has consistently sold beans 6-8 weeks past the roasting date. Boo hiss! Also, they recently installed new coffee brewing machines that take forever. Seriously slow. Nobody wants to wait 10 minutes for a cup of coffee! These changes seem to have implemented at the corporate level. The local staff is still great, but they're getting stuck with some bad mojo from the head office. read more

My sister and I were on vacation in Vancouver. It was both our first time here. My sister who lives in Vancouver took us here. We all love coffee. Unfortunately I have HBP and I can't seem to find a great decaffeinated coffee that don't taste watered down. Low and behold, I ordered caramel macchiato, and it was the BEST decaffeinated coffee ever!!!! I give them 10 stars I came back to Hawaii and they don't have Peets coffee here. Update: 1/27/19 Oh my goodness, can't even buy coffee beans here! Sent husband in to pick up a lb. of whole bean coffee for the espresso machine that was advertised on Peet's.com and they up-charged it to $25/lb. I'm DONE! Not even going for beans anymore. Just terrible! No effort ever to make things right either. Smh. Update II: Just have it a try again as I heard they now offer breakfast. There are 3 hot sandwiches - I had the arugula egg & cheese sandwich. The bread is different than the average offerings elsewhere and I liked that they had one with greens. That said I didn't think the sandwich was particularly tasty, and the bread was oddly chewy. The drink I ordered came with either zero coffee or they used cream, which I didn't order. The drink was a triple shot Havanna cappuccino and was almost white. No coffee taste although my husband said he saw them pour the shots in. I see there's at least a glass partition between customers and food, but if your barista is sick you may be joining her shortly if you order a pastry. Still not impre UPDATE: Not sure why the last review didn't publish before -- but I've included it below. Now not only are we having quality issues but they have taken out all of the comfortable seating they had and put in bar seating and what appears to be a board room table. Also at that time, I noticed they were out of the longer straws for use with the taller cups (which is what I get. -- I compensated by using a flat lid instead of the dome lid on my iced drink.) This morning I noticed they were again out of my favorite pastry (almond croissant) and long straws. I asked about straws and the guy on cleaning duty just mumbled something unintelligible and refused to look at me. I said no prob, I'll just use a flat lid. Nope! Out of those too!! This is located right by my previous employer and appreciated a nice cup of coffee and a place to take a quick break from work. Their location was a regular spot for my coworkers and I whom visited frequently because their inside seating area was spacious to have quick meetings but that is no longer doable because of COVID. My rating is based on my first experience coming back during the pandemic. I did a mobile order which I commonly do due to times we are living in now. I was greeted by a barista who was already packing up the pastries inside their display since it was obvious they were closing shop soon - I believe they were closing at 5:30. I told her I was a little early as I requested a time to pick up my drink later and placed an order via mobile app... the first thing she said to me was, "You must have ordered it in the wrong location because our mobile app doesn't accept mobile orders after 3:30". Ummmm, OK?! I showed her the app and where I ordered it, the location was correct and she let me know they would just make it anyway regardless... but I kept on telling her I was able to place the order after the fact. I think five minutes into our conversation, I heard a ding on their computer screen where they see orders and yep, the other barista mentioned they received my order. Anyhoot, interesting encounter. I've had many experiences at this place where baristas were extremely friendly and kind so just perplexed. Horrible service! First the cashier was rude-hasn't anyone taught her to watch your tone when talking to people. I was asking what was in a drink and she had an attitude with me...I ask because I don't know. Then I asked for an extra hot oatmeal latte and it was warm...extra hot means something you can't drink on the first sip. I asked for a matcha chai latte-- and just got a chai and it tasted watered down. The woman who made the drink looked at me like I was stupid and didn't know what I ordered. So went next door and got my drink there and had 5 Star service and an amazing drink....also I never got my money back for a horrible drink...and I spent $15.00 thank god, I barely tipped these people. read more

Do not go in here when they are closing for the day. They are not very friendly. This was not the first time this happened at closing. They made a mistake on my wife's coffee and it seemed to be a big in inconvenience. Most Peet's are really friendly. To follow up on my review, I was contacted by Peet's. It was my first time going to Peet's Coffee and I was kind of skeptical because some of my friends had mixed reviews about it. It sometimes is good depending on what you get! I saw tea fogs and it reminded me of this place I got one at PDX airport before I left on vacation. But tonight I desperately needed iced coffee because #1. Having a huge headache, and #2. I felt adventurous and wanted to try something new. I actually was on my way to Jamba Juice but couldn't resist a new place and realized oops! Not really in the mood for a smoothie. I am SO glad that I stepped in here! And specifically this location, I wanted something sweet and iced, Jared offered that I try a white chocolate mocha. He asked me all the necessary questions and was very attentive to my wants! On top of that, he was very respectful, nice and he made fun jokes that made my first experience here at Peet's awesome. Really? We're having an actual conversation even though the transaction is over and there's a small line behind me? That's cool! (Not to mention a new one.) The staff here is pretty neat. They're friendly, talkative, and prompt at getting your piping hot drink out. There's no "mellow top 40" playing, just the sound of the espresso machines and lighthearted laughs erupting from behind the counter. This is a grab and go kind of Peet's. There's a few tables inside and out, but one generally gets the sense that you get your beverage and head out on your way. The walls and counters are filled with the usual Peet's teas and accessories, always tempting me to make the switch to a really slick looking French press for my morning coffee. Their ever changing daily roast is good, but they make a darn good sugar free - non fat vanilla latte. It tastes like the real sugary original. Easily a solid chain shop to satisfy anyone's unhealthy caffeine addiction. read more

Peet's is a pretty good alternative to Starbucks. This basically only applies to the coffee flavor and tea choices though. The service seems pretty close to those of other places (meaning the younger almost high school crew). There is also the typical coffee house decor and feel. This Peet's has a good location. In general, I'm a fan of Peet's over Starbucks any day (I used to work as a barista @ Starbucks) but here's my two cents on a specific experience. I was here this morning in a daze. I ordered the seasonal Cinnamon Hazelnut latte (pretty tasty but I definitely would lessen the pumps of sweetener, unless you like really sweet drinks). I told Jared (barista @ the bar) that despite my many customizations, I still forgot to mention that I wanted it extra hot. Then it dawned on me that I forgot to order it decaf as well (I can't handle espresso shots). I apologize and he graciously remakes my drink with a smile on his face and he even comments that he's glad we could spend this time together. Jared reassures me that I'm not a pain in the a$$ (but let's be real, I totally am.) The girls at the register were nice as well, I'm really oblivious and indecisive but they didn't seem to mind. Overall, they have solid customer service which I typically expect at any Peet's. It's not the fact that they remade my drink (most decent coffee joints are willing to do this for you), it's the fact that they did it with smile and a genuinely good attitude. read more

I have tried multiple coffee shops near me, chain establishments and local favorites. Peets is hands down the best place around. I have had their coffee and teas both are great choices. They seem to keep a steady flow of people coming through and are able to keep up with the demand. They don't have a drive thur but walking in is a minor compromise for delicious coffees and teas. The coffee drinks here are consistent. That is Peet's strength. They have the same friendly baristas you find elsewhere, the same small tables with wood chairs, and the same carbon copy decor. However, the coffee is good and above all, consistent. I would not recommend trying to meet more than a couple of friends here due to limited seating. The baked goods are average. They have regular specials and occasional free sips of drinks to try. Their chai tea is also consistently good. They work with fair trade organizations and families for single origin coffees. Their online selection is always better than in-store however for whole bean coffee. Their ground coffee is available at FM on McGillivray. read more
