Tired on a random Saturday afternoon, I found myself going through the drive thru for a quick pick me up drink. For what it's worth, the "special" drinks are usually pretty good here. I got some sort of Glittery Red Bull and it was very good. Too much ice though, unfortunately. The barista was ok, she said hello and made a good drink. Pretty nice coffee shop! The inside is very warm and welcoming...with a fireplace and comfy couches. They have a drive-thru for convenience; however, it can be pretty slow compared to other drive-thru coffee shops. I like their coffee enough to take a break from Starbucks ;-) And, it's extremely close to my house, so that's always a plus! As far as the coffee drinks go, the Mexican Mocha is yummy, and the White Cow Latte. Their shakes are really good and thick too! I like the Kahlua one best! They also offer delicious smoothies. Their baked goods are enticing too...very fresh. I like the scones with my hot coffee drinks. They offer a nice, wide variety in their large case. I really like Brewed Awakenings' blend and usually grab coffee from one of their drive-thru's on the road, so when I decided I wanted to start working from a coffee shop a couple mornings a week, I chose this location to try. I've come maybe 4-5 times and still love the coffee, but mainly chose this spot because it's not too busy early in the morning and has really good WiFi for my morning Zoom meetings. That said, I really wish they did some more with the space. It's a pretty large coffee shop and this last time I came a little later around 10:30, there was no seating available. I also really wish there were more outlets or seating near the few outlets they do have - if you need to plug in your laptop you're very restricted to just a couple spots...one of which is at a 6 person table and I feel bad taking it up for myself. Also the music - don't mind too much that they play top 40, though it's not my favorite for a coffee shop environment, but they still play traditional radio over the sound system. I'm writing this as I listen to a Mr. Clean commercial. It's not 2006 anymore, can we upgrade to Spotify? Very nit-picky, but I always bring my backpack with my laptop and their restrooms don't have anywhere to hang it. Looks like the hangers in the stalls were broken off or something. Coffee was good, my croissant was nice and fresh. The coffee shop has very comfortable seating and is large. Good parking. But the Barista was unfriendly and cold. The service was fast, but my pastry was not warmed up, just handed to me in a paper bag. Most coffee shops welcome you with a smile and a friendly welcome. Not here. I'm more of a make my own coffee at home person but we were out & about last Saturday running errands and decided to take a break for a bit and enjoy a cup o' joe at this Brewed Awakenings. It's a nice big location with a variety of comfy seating and tables and chairs if you are there to get some work done, have a little meeting or get together for a board game (all of which were happening while we were there). They have several coffee options as far as brews, flavors, milks (dairy, non-dairy) to choose from and they had quite a few seasonal flavors for the holidays/Winter as well when we were there. We each tried a different seasonal coffee drink, mine was the Sticky Bun Latte (so good, it tasted like the ooey-gooey center of a cinnamon roll) and the Hubs had their Gingerbread Latte, which he really enjoyed. They also have some baked goods which looked good in the display case and it said they make them in-house there. I saw a sign for breakfast sandwiches, too. Oh, and they have milkshakes! I said not yet, they went to the back and someone came out and said they would be right with me. 5 additional minutes later I left without being helped. There was no one else at the counter and the only other order was served long before I finally left. They don't seem to care at all. read more

Do not get the chai tea. Yesterday was a cold rainy day and a hot chai tea sounded good. We went to the drive-thru and the lady had said that they just got a new brand of chai tea and that most of their customers loved it and few of them didn't care for it. I wasted $5 on this. She offered to make me a drink and have me try it first but it was so hot I couldn't try it before we left the drive-thru. Even though I'm down with a bad cold I had to take time to review this coffee house. I couldn't speak loud enough over the speaker since my voice was so hoarse so the girls had me pull around to the window. I kept coughing and coughing one after the next but managed to get out that I wanted a hot tea. They put honey and lemon in the tea and gave me the enormo cup. Not the best place to go if you are really INTO coffee. Their more common and popular flavored drinks (like mochas and vanilla lattes) are good, but their regular coffee or Americanos are sub par. And sometimes simply disgusting. If you like your coffee sweet and desserty, go here, if you like your coffee for the actual coffee taste then I suggest checking out some of the more artisanal places around town. Compass isn't too far from this location; it is over off St Johns. The atmosphere at Brewed is pretty fantastic though. Comfy couches and always clean! It is a little loud though; the acoustics aren't too great and the sounds of the espresso machines and blenders are masked by even louder music at times. Great place for a convo though if you sit away from the baristas. Great place to work on your laptop (Wifi too!), but bring some headphones. I do love their "Iced Belgian Lattes" when I am in the mood for something sweet (my go to drink at other cafés is usually an americano), I can't find anyone else in town that makes what they call an "Iced Belgian Latte" as good. There milkshakes are great too (I like the Espresso Mocha Chip), and their "coolers" are alright. read more

I love the Peanut Butter Cooler at Brewed, but for God's sake, why must the service be so incredibly slow?! My work is about 2 minutes from Brewed and I had about 15 minutes until my start time, so I figured I would have plenty of time to go through the drive thru and grab a coffee. Boy was I wrong. I pulled up and ordered, then waited about 10 minutes for the 2 cars in front of me to get their drinks. When it was my turn to pull up, the gal asked me, "What did you order again?" So I told her my order for the second time. They then began to make my drink. The thing that really got me was there was about 5 drinks sitting on the counter ready for the people behind me in line? Do they not make the drinks in the order that the orders are placed? It made no sense to me. It's not just this time, but every single time I come they are sooo painfully slow. read more

Huge, clean space with an extensive coffee selection. I had a dirty chai latte that was pretty good, but a little too milky and weak-tasting. There wasn't a lot of seating available, so we found a table on the other end of the store and had to walk awkwardly back to the counter to get our drinks. It's still a good place to sit and relax for a while. They have a fireplace, so if you can snag the seats next to it that would be the coziest spot. Better than Starbucks for sure, but not the best coffee spot I've been to in Vancouver. read more

I will soon be moving to Vancouver and this place is right up the street from my future home. I am so excited! I love love love this place (and I've only been through the drive thru. I'm sure it is just adorable inside (maybe it will become my new study spot). Curiosity got the best of me and I ordered a Mexican Mocha. OH YUM. It is absolutely fabulous! I highly recommend it. I returned on my way out of town for another mocha as I couldn't stop thinking about how yummy it was. I ordered a breakfast bagel sandwich as well and I was not disappointed! Also, I have a chocolate lab who goes everywhere with me and loves drive thrus mainly because of the attention but especially for the treats, the barista was so nice and gave him a tasty biscuit. The staff was really friendly and they had a good place going. It wasn't too loud so it was a good place to hang out for a few hours and study. There wasn't a whole lot of non-caffeine/non dairy options. Like flavored ice tea, they only had 3 options. There was absolutely nothing that was gluten free, no fruit.
