Tried this place twice. Wife and I won't be coming back. The atmosphere was as if something died there. Watched what looks like a manager walk right in front of a waitress, where we saw that as so messed up that even the waitress stopped and gave a look of disdain. Poor waitress was doing everything, seating, cleaning, bussing. Sorry waitresse. I felt for you. Then watched another waitress put all her shit (purse bag jacket etc) on ready to fold napkins and silverware. Like honestly WTF and then continued to leave it there and get ready for her work day right there. While we're eating. Wife and I came to the conclusion that whomever is the owners are. Are cheap. And don't care. About any maintenance of any sort as there seems to be see through cooler that looks like it's being held by duck tape. Worse is it's scotch tape. We love going to LaProvence for breakfast. Food and service are ALWAYS amazing. Today they were featuring one of our absolute favorites, chorizo and egg hash. Everything about this dish is a power punch of flavor, spice and presentation. I would love to see this come back as a permanent menu item again. Had brunch today at 11am. We ordered two tuna melts sandwiches, one with a salad, one with potato salad and eggs, bacon and croissant hashbrowns breakfast. The tuna melts were very good did not care for the potato salad. It has horseradish and was looking for a normal homestyle potato salad my breakfast was not very good hashbrowns burnt. The eggs were small and the bacon had a funny taste to it. The croissants are always outstanding and their desserts are great, but I'll probably not go back for a while. It was packed with people as it's a pretty popular spot, but service was still great. Came in for a quick breakfast. Colby was a great waiter. He is so good he was training a newbie. He found out my name by see my computer and saw my name on it and address me by my name. What a good way to catch my attention. I got the omlette with minus tomatoes add peppers. When they give you peppers they give all kinds of different peppers like red, orange and green. My omlette was pretty good. It seemed like it was overcooked as it was kind of spongy and brown in the outside. I don't remember if it came with cheese or not but I realized after I left that there was no cheese on it or in it. The croissants with the jam are delicious and so are the cappuccinos. The hashbrowns are plentiful and crispy too. This place is always packed no matter what the time or day. I have been going in by myself and have sat the counter each time. Everything tasted so good, the benedict was perfect, the croissant paired so well with the eggs and ham. What an experience! We enjoyed every second of our brunch at La Provence. We were seated quickly and our server was attentive but not overbearing which was perfect. My husband had the west coast salmon Benedict and he loved it. I had the Traditional Benedict which was a classic done to perfection. I also had the butternut squash on the side which was a light compliment to the Benedict. Finally made it to La Provence and will absolutely be back! I had a mimosa flight with seasonal lavender and cranberry, and then pineapple and raspberry. All 4 were delicious but the lavender was absolutely my favorite! For my meal I got the Ultimate Polenta with over easy eggs & a croissant. The croissant's are soft and flaky, and the jam is so good! The polenta was creamy, cheesy, and absolutely delicious. My partner got the Chef's Omelette with a croissant and really enjoyed it as well. Other than croissants and baguettes, there's not much waving the tricolor here. My Mission: Bourguignon Brunch - $21 Braised beef in a "red wine ancho chili sauce" over a battlefield of butternut squash, bacon, leek, potato, green pepper, harissa, and jalapeño, topped with an egg and horseradish crème. Sounds tactical, right? Wrong. The butternut squash threw a frag into the operation -- mushy, weirdly sweet, and out of place. Beef was MIA on flavor. My Wife's Objective: Strawberry Pistachio Praline French Toast - $17 A brioche stuffed with strawberry crème, topped with strawberries, whipped cream, pistachio praline, orange crème, and cardamom sugar. Over-the-top? Sure. But she was grinning like a Parisian on leave, so mission accomplished on that front. The Final Insult: Éclair - $7.50 Seven-fifty ... for one pastry smaller than a 9mm mag? I was a little skeptical it was highly suggested I did it I love it. Just the right amount of lavender to not be overwhelming yet to give it the perfect balance of coffee, cream and lavender. Anyone who knows me knows I don't like my food touching. This is a huge step for me and I have to tell you the mixture and the balance of the flavors and textures is absolutely amazing. The Wild Salmon Hash was absolutely outstanding. I am not a huge salmon fan, but this did not taste fishy and was incredibly good. The perfect mix of crispy hash browns not overdone and not too greasy. Over medium egg the white cooked perfectly and the yolk still decadently runny, leaks not too soggy but not too underdone, the salmon cooked to perfection and spread evenly throughout the dish accompanied with a perfect blend of fresh crisp microgreens on top, with a creamy dill sauce similar to hollandaise but better. We went here for the first time on a Sunday around 11am. The estimate for a wait was 35 mins but we got seated in 20. Nice! While we waited we got to get some pastries and coffee at the bakery section. Wow it was loaded with lots of options and many beverages as well. We got seated in the bar area which was quite cramped but it was just us two and we were fine with that. The service was fast for as packed as it was. She was very sweet and tentative. Our food came out quickly as well. I ordered the west coast Benedict. I was worried about the twist of the croissant rather than an English biscuit. But it was yummy! My husband enjoyed his biscuit and gravy. Very flavorful. I really enjoyed my Bloody Mary flight, I'm glad they offered that. Parking is nice and big. Bathrooms were clean. When we arrived there was an option of eating at the bar, waiting for 20 mins, or eating outside. As we didn't want to get too much hungrier we chose outside. Let me tell you, fabulous choice! Though it was cold and snowing, their heaters and enclosed patio made it refreshing. We had a lovely experience with our waiter who did not hover but showed up with perfect timing to order, refill our waters, and serve the food. I ordered the mushroom chèvre omelet with a croissant and a pistachio oat milk latte and my partner ordered the corn beef with another pistachio oat milk latte. Not only was the latte served by the barista herself quickly but the latte was so yummy. Our food was delicious on all levels. Well priced, great service, and amazing food. Super cute restaurant in town that I didn't even know existed until recently. Service was great no complaints and surprisingly did not have to wait to be seated on a Friday at 1pm. Food: Salmon hash and Croissant BLT I got the salmon hash and to my surprise it was really good. I normally would for something basic like French toast. The salmon was cooked perfectly and not a fishy taste like some have. They also have their own salsa they make and I added it to the hash and gave it a kick. The meal also came with a croissant and raspberry jelly which was amazing. The flavor was perfectly sweet and a nice touch to add. I've always had croissants plain so this was different. After our meal stopped at to pick up some goodies. Got a Marion berry cheesecake and pink lady. Both were super good. Such a sucker for cheesecake and these definitely hit the spot. Another yummy visit to La Provence! Usually have to wait to get a table as they're very popular but only about 10 to 15 each time so not bad. Tried the baked eggs for the first time today and it was really good! Layered with hash brows, ham, mushrooms, poached eggs, gruyere and Swiss. Served with toasted baguette slices. Would order this again! The tuna melt and soup of the day which was a corned beef and cabbage were delicious as well. My favorite dish though is the whipped feta and avocado tartine! It's sourdough toast topped with whipped feta cheese, avocado, poached eggs, pico de gallo and chili crisp. So yummy and highly recommend! Their desserts are so yummy as well! The macarons are great! Personally, I was nervous when we came here for the first time, it seemed like the name would make it pretentious. I do not do well with pretentiousness. In reality, it was anything but! This is no Denny's or Stardust Diner; this is breakfast with a little flare and style. The omelets are a work of art, the croissant is the best I have ever had and they use them in so many creative ways. Plain, toasted, grilled, as a base for a Benedict... there seems no end to the ways they use these flaky baked goods from heaven. The service is as good as the food. La Provence is consistent. The food is very good, it's super cute inside (although very noisy), and the staff are friendly. They offer a decent array of gluten free options for their whole menu (including brunch), and they make their own GF bread! As far as desserts go, I can really only speak to the one thing GF friendly, the macrons, and they are actually not my favorite. I've had them fresh from the restaurant several times and have been gifted them other times, and they are always the same; hard and crumbly with very little chewiness. I will say vanilla seems to be the flavor/texture that is most similar to a good macron. I'll still eat them, but they're just not the best in town. read more
