A gem on Hull Street. I visit Richmond a few times a year and this is the first time at the new location (from around the corner). The coffee is delicious, bold and rich for the espressos, and the food portions were filling and more than U expected for breakfast items. The people working there, especially the barista and cashier we met a few times, made us feel welcomed and was graceful on the first day as we figured out the coffee drinks. Take note business owners, I am a firm believer that your workers who are the face of a place, are the true ambassadors and usually influence whether I'll be back. Need to do some work while waiting for my dads appointment to end in the area. I love the neighborhood vibe and hospitality. The staff was super friendly and patient enough to wait for my indecisive self. They have teas, coffee, donuts, and house made sandwiches( the club is FIRE). I found out the have $2 lattes during happy hour from 3-7 and also alcoholic beverages. I was sold on the Brewers latte which is made of agave sugar and cinnamon. Sooo delicious and not too sweet, the perfect balance. I almost bought a second cup! I honestly love the natural lighting and the open doors letting that beautiful weather in. The cafe had a very welcoming feel with local art adorning the walls. While sitting doing work you see the flow of people coming in for meetings or locals coming in and out getting their daily kicks. I also really like the music which wasn't too loud. The cafe itself isn't that big and I could see it getting tight on a busy day. When I went they had bar seating overlooking the neighborhood and several tables. Brewers also has plenty of outlets and outside tables as well. I was home for thanksgiving break and decided to support a black-owned establishment while "working from home". I brought my own fruit and coffee but picked up a day old pastry from the cafe as a breakfast. The place seems to be very popular and busy in the mornings. There was sufficient wifi and space to work for the 3+ hours I was there. The staff seemed friendly and familiar with their regulars. Moved into new construction nearby and am so glad to have this gem as my neighborhood coffee shop. You get good vibes immediately upon walking in, and you can tell it's a business who cares about the local community and their staff. Very cute local, family run coffee shop. We were visiting Richmond for a long weekend and stayed across the street from here and it's a local gem. Brewer's Cafe is a gem in this neighborhood where there aren't many coffee shops. I ordered a coffee and a breakfast sandwich while I waited for my dear friend, Bonnie Kat to finish her art class. The coffee came out fresh and hot in a large mug. My breakfast sandwich was shortly followed to my perch at the front window overlooking the street. The bacon, egg and cheese was between some tasty artisan bread. It was pretty big, at least for me - I tend to eat several small portions during the day rather than the traditional three per day. Oh, and the music was at a reasonable level where it didn't force patrons to speak above the music to hold a conversation. There were a few accolades from magazines and such near the door and I can see (and experienced) why. This is one of my favorite brunch spots in Richmond! A small little coffee shop that serves tasty baked goods and delicious breakfast sandwiches! I have yet to try any of the lunch sandwiches, but from eating the breakfast fare I can say that the ingredients always taste fresh. The food is also always made with care (meaning it is not terribly fast). Be sure to grab a day old, $1 baked good. Just as tasty as the fresh ones! For a later breakfast/brunch, I recommend the breakfast burrito. It has a great flavor profile and is very mild. For something to the point and more breakfast oriented, I suggest the Bainbridge sandwich. The staff is friendly and the laid back vibe make it a popular spot among locals. We were next door trying to be seated at Croaker's Spot with a 45 min wait. I'm from out of state and it was freezing so I suggested grabbing some coffee. We saw this little spot in passing and decided to pop our heads in. To our surprise it was a simple cozy lil place with AWESOME customer service.
