We were next door trying to be seated at Croaker's Spot with a 45 min wait. I'm from out of state and it was freezing so I suggested grabbing some coffee. We saw this little spot in passing and decided to pop our heads in. To our surprise it was a simple cozy lil place with AWESOME customer service. They didn't have the flavor ice cream my daughter wanted but they were very apologetic and nice. If you're looking for a friendly face and a good hot cup of coffee I definitely suggested this spot. Brewer's Café is another Manchester gem! It has a cozy interior with lots of local artwork hanging on the walls. It's small, so keep in mind you may have to wait for a table if you go during a busy time. However, as it gets warmer they should open their outdoor seating which doubles their space. The breakfast sandwiches at Brewer's are great, and served all day. I have enjoyed "The Manchester" which has ham, egg, and cheese, as well as the "Exit 73 Veggie Panini" which is jam packed with yummy vegetables. Their cappuccinos are delicious, and so is their brewed coffee. Since Brewer's Café is locally owned I recommend giving this spot a try next time you meet up for coffee or a breakfast treat. read more

Brewers Cafe is my new fav spot in Richmond. The staff is incredible, the vibe is perfect, and the juice was some of the best I've had in a while. I will definitely visit whenever I'm in town! I also love what they do to support the community through arts. Brewer's cafe was on the top of my list for coffee shops in RVA to visit. I have been trying to scope out the best coffee shops and I am pretty sure Brewer's is one of the time ones. For starters Brewer's separates themselves from the other shops because one they have a Mac desktop that you can use, a large menu of coffee, teas, breakfast, lunch, bakery items, and Bourbon/Cocktails to choose from. They offer free WiFi. I like that they added something special to this Manchester area. Being that it is Fall I wanted something warm so I ordered a chai latte and for a bite to eat an everything bagel. I can honestly say that this is by far the best chai latte that I've ordered or had period. There was just a right amount of cinnamon. The everything bagel was spot on. I love that they have two areas of outdoor seating. Parking wasn't a hassle at all. Plenty of street parking right on the block which is a major plus. I really enjoyed the vibe of Brewer's. The music they played was on point. Great place to come and study. Good amount of indoor seating. The staff was courteous, friendly, and welcoming. For happy hour 3-7p they have $2 lattes, $1 off of craft beers, and $2 off bourbon cocktails. It's safe to say that I might go the extra few miles to come to Brewer's a little more often. I've had Brewer's bookmarked for a while now and today I finally had the chance to try them out. Their menu is pretty light with both breakfast and lunch sandwiches offered. Their beverage menu ranges from teas/coffee to beer and bourbon. I tried The Club sandwich with a side of chips & a drink. Total cost was about $12. Sandwich was actually pretty stacked. It was hearty and didn't fall apart sloppily. The customer service was flawless as I had originally tried ordering on the app but was having difficulties. I called the cafe and the young gentleman who answered was very patient with me. Love that this spot is right across the street within walking distance of my apartment. I went in with my partner to get lunch and we absolutely loved it! They have options for meat and veggie eaters. Also, it came with chips or fruit! My coffee was good and the service was friendly. But i've never gotten to eat it warm. i'm a fan of the original location and never had issues with the service. however, every time i have come here trying to give it another shot, i've had to wait for at least 30 mins for multiple parts of my to go order to arrive at different times and something is always incorrect. i've had to sit and eat my breakfast while my boyfriend waited for his and vice versa because it's going to be cold before the other arrives! Brewer's Cafe is located in the Manchesterarea and is such a nice addition to that community. The serve breakfast and lunch and just offer a great space to hang out and get some work done. Wifi is conveniently located on the chalk board in front of the register. You can also find books & art work for sale by local members of the community which is a nice touch. It's good to see businesses supporting the young, local talent we have here. As far as the food I've had The Club, The Manchester but my favorite has been the chicken salad wrap. I have been to Brewers twice now and I will definitely continue to visit when I need a morning iced latte fix. The first time I went I tried their cinnamon roll donut...it is huge and delicious. The second time I went I had to get the donut again and I also ordered and iced latte. I am not a huge coffee fan, but every once in awhile I am feeling a caffeine kick. The staff has always been friendly and patient when I am not sure exactly what I want. They have a very extensive menu for breakfast and lunch. I am sure it would be a good place to stop in on a Saturday or Sunday morning for brunch. It is small, but it is a great place to do work. They have a Mac computer that you can pay to use, which is such a cool idea. They also have outdoor seating. Fun fact is the owners last name is actually Brewer. Today was my first experience at Brewers. I called in an order of two sandwiches for lunch takeout. My sandwich- the club was ordered with cheese. When I got the sandwich i started questioning what I ordered as it was wrapped in a hamburger style wrapping. Guess takeout presentation isn't that important. Opened it up and the sandwich look pretty good at first glance. I noticed there wasn't any cheese on the sandwich. I called the store and asked the guy who answered if i was charged extra for the cheese. He explained to me that there is normally a charge for cheese but I wasn't charged because he noticed when he rang up the order he didn't add the cheese. So your admitting to me that you knew you forgot to add the cheese and instead of fixing the mistake while the sandwich was still in the store and just charging me for it. You don't charge me for the cheese, you don't fix the mistake because the sandwich was already made, you just knowing let the order go out incorrectly- What?! Are you serious?! The quality wasn't the best either. 1 piece of lettuce (literally), barley no tomato and the bacon was over cooked (always burnt). It tasted ok, but not impressed. They also charge more than other cafes in the area, which is why I didn't try them sooner. If that is also your hesitation, I would say- no its not worth trying Brewers. My first impression definitely wasn't a good one. read more

Since I moved to Richmond, I got lucky and live less than a five minute walk from Brewers. I would recommended it 10/10! I love the Breakfast sandwiches. I love this local cafe. The ambience feels like a sitcom from the late 90's. The the coffee is always freshly brewed and the food always hits the spot. Try one of their pastries, you will not be let down. One of the things I really enjoy about this cafe is that it has a very community oriented vibe. The people working there seem genuinely cool. It's also one of the few Black owned cafes in Richmond. On second thought maybe I shouldn't have written this review. I walked in the door and was greeted not only by the beautiful atmosphere complete with an array of seating options to choose from, but also by AJ Brewer, the cafe owner himself. AJ takes the time to not only greet every guest with a smile and a handshake, but to chat with them a bit about their day and what brings them into the cafe. He is a business owner proud not only of his business, but of all the amazing things coming to the Manchester district. I enjoyed a Ethiopian brew coffee while doing some work in the cafe.
