TRUSTWORTHY. I don't think I need to say more. These guys have been taking care of my 2001 4Runner for a little over a year. Last time my wife brought it in for brakes and routine service. After close examination, they said it was fine. They didn't try to upsell or even charge for inspection!!! I'm a disabled veteran and I really appreciate that type of honest service. We tried this garage that someone recommended and everything worked out great. Have had horrible experiences at soo many places. They were straight forward listened and responded with actual info of the vehicle we brought in for service. We tend to drop off and wait for call and they were always fast and thorough. Didn't feel I was over charged and I didn't feel that they were trying to trick us into services we didn't need. So I was very happy hopefully they stick around. read more

Joe knows cars! We have a Volvo XC90 that we had to the dealership for an oil change and alignment. Following the alignment the car just didn't feel right when we applied the brakes. Sooo we brought it back to the dealer obviously, and they diagnosed bad front ball joints. Sooo we had them replaced. BUT still braking felt weird! Sooo now we needed second opinions! Joe drove it for us and explained the brake pads were probably uneven. BINGO, totally makes sense since they probably wore unevenly when out-of-alignment, then when realigned you could feel the unevenness! (We were set to travel, so this was HUGE for us to know, since it is not a safety issue.) Joe is our mechanic angel! read more

I called them. I said," i have a 55 thunderbird, the transmission is leaking, can you fix it" ? " yes but not this week", "how about I have it brought to your shop next monday" ? " that would be fine". Monday It it taken to their shop, $275.00. Tuesday 11:00 am I call them, they say, " we cant do this job". Just to add insult insult to injury they call at 4:00 pm complaining that I haven't picked up my car from their shop. I am out over $500 because of these clowns. 18 years Ive used them and so have my parents. I can replace an engine and other major repairs so I know a little about cars. I go here for the hard stuff (technical and diagnostic issues). They are the best. Not only are they the best, they are honest and their communication of price/options/ repair issues is unparelled. I only regret is not writting a review sooner. I was reminded of how great the owner Joe is today after I brought my car in this week. Rick handled the communication aspect with me and I can't praise him for his patience, and clarity enough. Very honest business practice. They will call and let you know what's needed done and what the cost would be and wait till we give them a green light on the work before starting. Clutch slipping bad on our 2005 Toyota Corolla. Fair amount of labor to replace. I told wife has to be done right or car would never be same again. Sell it. Wife insisted we fix her car. I went to 4 shops and Toyota dealer (only to get price - would NEVER go dealer). At Brewers, got a printed, detailed estimate. Others just quoted price. Discussed job & parts with Joe & Rick and scheduled fix for May 7th, 2018. First time for us at Brewers. Next day car was ready as promised. To my total satisfaction car drove quite well, very smooth, good pedal, no grease fingerprints inside or under the hood, no oil residue underneath. (I crawled under at home). Did auto work years ago - so checked for all tight bolts, hoses, clamps, wiring, etc. All good. Nothing missing. Fantastic. Wasn't expecting that. Plus, old parts saved in trunk. Originally, I was thinking might need a new rear main seal. Rick ordered one "just in case". Proactive ! Fortunately no signs any oil coming through. All good. Very pleased. These guy will overcharge U for the work they do, then try to rope U in for more after U go back bc the work wasn't finish or diagnosed right the 1st time U were there! Tried to charge me $1200 for a A/C evaporator core bc they said it had a small leak as well as $560 for a A/C condenser. Not to mention the $1192 they had already charged me for an A/C compressor the first time I went in. Good thing I wised up & took my business else were! The new garage told me the over charged me by almost double on the compressor & nothing was wrong with my A/C evaporator core (said it looked like it hadn't been touched!) I have read the reviews on Yelp and the one negative review is not acceptable. I have been coming to Brewers Garage for over 40 years. I know that this is not the truth. The people who own and work at this establishment would never do what was stated. This is a quality shop and would never lie to a customer or potential customer. I will only recommend this shop for any and all vehicle repairs. If it is not broken they won't fix it. I know that they won't sell you anything you don't need. I say that Brewers is the one of the best shops you can ever deal with. I have seen them recommend parts that are a quality product and cost you less money. How many shops would do this make a conscious decision to save you money. read more

+Warning+ made an appointment , for Service Airbag Code and repair. After an hour wait, was told they did not have the correct tool to complete the diagnostic and to get it the diagnnostic and repaired done at the dealer,as they have the correct tools and parts. Then was handed a bill for $63.13. The lesson learned from Brewer's Garage is go to the dealer. Dodge-Chevrolet- Cadillac- Ford- ect. for the correct tools and repairs. Give the $63.13 to the church,were it will help others. The time spent there is now a memory and a conservation topic. Will share this information on the Webb in other venues. read more

Went to Brewer's Garage in a moment of desperation. I almost went to another shop, but then I saw the reviews and started looking again. Found Brewer's Garage on Yelp. I was pulling a trailer behind my Ford Ranger, coming from Tampa, when it suddenly started running badly. I limped off the interstate and started looking for a repair shop. It was late on a Friday morning. I was heading to pick up equipment I needed for a job over the weekend. I took it to Brewer's explaining my situation. They diagnosed the problem as a failed coil-pack, causing the engine to run on 2 of it's 4 cylinders. They replaced the coil pack and spark plugs (which I approved knowing the vehicle probably had 100,000 miles since they were last replaced). I got the truck back in a few hours for exactly the price they quoted. They didn't try to up charge me or push other repairs my way. The truck has 191,000 miles and it needs more than a coil pack. Thank you Brewer's Garage for quick, responsive, reasonably priced service. If there was ever a candidate to get overcharged, I was that person because I needed my truck fixed quickly and would have paid more to get it done quickly. I read the review from Jay H and based on my experience, I find Brewer's Garage to be an honest and reputable place. I wish they had a facility in Tampa so I could be a repeat customer. read more

Go elsewhere - AMATEUR mechanics, potential scammers. Don't rely on this garage for ANY major work. Brewer's is pretty much good for oil changes, tire rotations, battery replacements, and other simple things. They will only use AC Delco parts unless you request otherwise, which they might ignore (did with me). No attention to detail with inaccurate diagnosis. My truck engine overheated and they told me I had a clogged radiator so I had them replace it. Unfortunately they didn't pay attention to the fact my truck requires a high demand radiator - even though I told them to match the part exactly and use an OEM part. Truck continued to overheat. I took it back and they said the engine was failing a compression test and I had blown a head gasket and possibly cracked the block. Quote was $4000. Yes, $4000!!! I took it to another mechanic who PROVED their diagnosis was incorrect and the gasket was not blown, which means the head/block were not cracked. The overheating issue remained because the cheap radiator they put in was too restrictive. I haven't returned since and won't. Advising others to stay away. You should do the same. read more
