You will get charged for a diagnosis but it is worth it because you know you're paying for their time number one and number two they're not going to try to figure out how to make more money off you. I sent Dan's a client of mine from NJ who was having trouble with the car we had recently serviced. Although the condition was not present and could not be diagnosed, Dan sent a technician on the road with it and performed several tests. They didn't charge my client and they were courteous and responsive to both my client and to us. First you will notice the steady stream of cars in and out of this small corner building but packed with mechanics. I also noticed Dan's blue eyes which earned him the title Handsome Dan. Their reputation for being honest and thorough and fair is a well kept secret for those in the know. In the waiting room are many people who swear by their integrity and MidWest sensibility. Dan's customer service and willingness to help always top notch. I trust him and only him when thinking of a mechanic is Pinellas County. And for SO much more than breaks. In the past he's replaced all breaks, tires, routers, calipers, done regular oil service on my Nissans, Hondas, Volkswagens, and more. I've even bought a few used cars over the years and within 24 hours I bring them to Dan to check out for any/all issues. Always great detail and service! More recently I've switched to leasing and haven't needed much work, but yesterday my Dad blew 2 tires and I wanted to take care of it for him. After having the car at Dan's I found out all 4 tires needed to be replaced. Also some other work related to wheel bearing. I went to Dan's to have my brakes checked because I thought that I needed them...Dan assured me that I still had some time left on them and that I would be fine for a few more months. A few months later I had taken my car into the dealership for an oil change and they told me that my brakes needed to be done and needed to be done soon. I told them I would wait and I took my car back to Dan's and had them do the work and I will never take my car anywhere else for service.
