During my most recent visit we unfortunately experienced extremely poor service. Our server's mannerisms were concerning, and I could clearly smell what appeared to be alcohol on his breath. My order was also incorrect, which was frustrating. When we asked to speak with a manager, we were told that the manager had already left for the night and that there was no front of house management on site. I found that extremely unprofessional, especially for a Saturday night at 8:30 p.m. As someone who has frequented this restaurant over the years and genuinely enjoyed coming here in the past, I expected much better. Date of visit: 5.15.2026 (Solo) This was my first occasion to solicit this dining establishment. My first impression was the outdoor dining area was very inviting and relaxing. I discovered that everyone has the same opinion and I should have gotten a reservation. The inside is very nice also, so no issues. I was greeted immediately and seated in a comfortable area. I was waited on immediately with water and flatware. My drink from the bar was very good and my server was excellent ("Addie"). I ordered the lobster roll and I have to say that I was disappointed, there was very little flavor. It was simply lobster meat and mayonnaise on a bun. I've had a Lobster roll at other places and much more flavor. I noticed that the hostess's have no dress code and looked as if they wore their yard clothes to work. Short cut off blue jean shorts. Bellies showing and low-cut blouses. Not very professional in my opinion, especially for the impression they are trying to present to they're customers. Very large upscale restaurant with outdoor seating. My wife said that she's always wanted to try it. We went on a beautiful sunny Monday for an alfresco lunch. Neither she nor I were overly impressed. The food was good, but not excellent. My Hawaiian chicken club sandwich was tasty but very messy and in fact, I ended up eating it on my plate with a knife and fork. The ahi tuna in her order was a tad overdone and she didn't like the dressing that came with it. The server was very attentive and came by several times to ask if we were enjoying the meal. Near the end, however I wish she'd come by with more water. We probably will not return. read more

This is my first time ever leaving a negative review, which says a lot. Unfortunately, our experience at Tarks was upsetting enough that I felt it needed to be shared. We came in for lunch and ordered two Mediterranean salads, one with salmon and one with shrimp, along with two lunch specials. The roasted red peppers on the salads did not taste fresh and left a very bitter aftertaste. There was also a pepperoncini that appeared partially eaten, only about a quarter of it remained attached. We brought this to our waitress's attention, and she was kind, professional, and immediately offered to replace the salad. However, when she returned from the kitchen, the manager approached our table instead. Rather than apologizing or showing concern, he placed two bowls of fresh peppers (which aren't the same from the salad) on the table and told us the chef had tasted the roasted red pepper and "nothing was wrong with it," adding that they "aren't back in the kitchen taking bites out of the food and serving it." He also dismissed the pepperoncini by saying they "sometimes come out that way." It was not just the food issue that bothered us, it was the manager's attitude. His response came across as defensive, dismissive, and condescending instead of customer-focused. A simple apology and respectful conversation would have completely changed the situation. Our waitress handled everything professionally and kindly, but due to the experience with management, we will not be returning. Our waitress was kind enough to comp our drinks at the end. Great restaurant, location, ambiance, service and food. Parking was a bit challenging but it was Friday afternoon so probably to be expected. They are doing renovations to enlarge the patio seating. Expected noise and a little construction dust. It was a beautiful day so sitting outside was the thought only to realize it was a bit chilly if you didn't get a seat in the sun. Outside seating was pet friendly. We opted to sit inside cause it chilly. People were friendly and accommodating. Khloe/JC were served us and both were great. The duck was perfectly cooked, the carrots were tender and fresh...like straight out of someone's Auntie's garden fresh. The star was the onion puree never did I know how much I needed this in my life. I dragged ever morsel through that it was subtle but so yummy. After missing the opportunity to go to Tark's for Mother's Day, I decided to treat myself to a nice dinner one recent evening. The weather was pleasant and comfortable. Tark's flew under my radar for a while, as I knew nothing of its existence! The restaurant is tucked away in the Greenspring Station area. It's located in a huge building that accommodates other businesses. It has a beautiful courtyard that I wanted to sit in. Unfortunately, it was the last day of Preakness, so it was a packed house and there was no room outside. Tark's does take walk-ins, but I highly recommend reservations. I was seated in the bar area, which has a couple of booths and high top seating. This restaurant is HUGE, okay?! There's two sizable dining room areas, an extended bar area and a courtyard. On this day, the whole restaurant was completely full and buzzing with patrons. Some with coworkers, some on dates and others dining with their families. I took it all in as I perused the menu. I decided that I would go all out and have a full course meal. I started with the blood orange margarita. It was refreshing and DELICIOUS! This cocktail had just the right amount of spice, with a slice of jalapeño and a Tajin rim. If you're a lightweight like me, this little number will have you feeling *very* relaxed. My waiter Justin offered another round and I had to turn it down, lol! For my appetizer, I ordered the lobster nuggets. They came with a sriracha dip and an apricot chutney dip. I requested a lemon pepper aioli dip as well. All sauces were delicious and the nuggets were crispy and well seasoned. A healthy, beautiful loaf of focaccia bread with oil was brought to the table. I thought I wouldn't have been able to eat it all, but I absolutely did! This restaurant bread is probably some of the best I've ever had. Ever! It was soft, the rosemary & Italian herbs stood out and the olive oil bought the flavors all together perfectly. For my main, I chose the orange sesame glazed salmon with coconut rice and spinach with pineapple. SO GOOD! The salmon was super fresh. The coconut rice was dense and perfectly cooked. The spinach the delicately wilted and the pineapple added the perfect island flavor. Highly recommend. I thought I was done, but at the last minute, I decided upon a scoop of Taharka Brother's honey graham ice cream. It was delectable, and an epic end to an already wonderful meal. The inside is extremely spacious, and we were seated right away. The decor is warm and inviting, though I will say it was a bit chilly inside on a rainy day. Are you familiar with Green Spring Station? Neither was I prior to coming to Tark's. It's a cute 'town center' of sorts with restaurants and boutique shops. Tark's is located on the inside of the station in something like a courtyard. I came at night to meet with family for my partner's daughter's 18th birthday. I couldn't see the sign from the outside, but once I parked I understood it was within the confines of the building. When I arrived most of our party had already been seated. There was about 10 in our party. The place was nice, although I'd really like to come back when it's warm to sit outside. I ordered the scallops that came with butternut squash risotto, roasted wild mushrooms, pomegranate beurre blanc, and toasted pumpkin seeds. I love scallops, mushrooms AND risotto so this was tasty! The risotto was rich, which was a nice complement to the scallops. I ate it ALL. My partner had the steak with asparagus. She gave me a taste and it was perfectly tender & flavorful. The asparagus was crisp, but cooked. Good food all around. Everybody seemed to enjoy their meal. I'll be back. I like the vibe of the whole place and would like to see it during the daytime. We had a reservation this past Friday to celebrate the birthday of an aging, disabled relative. The lunch almost didn't happen. Tark's turned out to be too long a walk from the parking lot. I went to the restaurant to see if there was a wheelchair available. The man in charge said Tark's didn't have one, but Greenspring Station might. And -- ta dah! -- he produced a wheelchair and saved the day. This was service above-and-beyond. We and our relative will never forget this magical birthday lunch, which almost never was. I am impressed with the service, food, and drinks on this my first visit. It was very late in the evening and the kitchen was about to close. Additionally, the restaurant was mostly empty but there are so many seating options for indoor, outdoor and at the bar. Our drinks were brought out quickly and I thoroughly enjoyed the Manhattan- a strong drink that I sipped throughout my visit. We only ordered appetizers for this visit since it was so late. Still, the oysters served with hot sauce and cream of crab soup were both delicious and served quickly. I must mention the bread that was served which was made with rosemary, olive oil, and perfection. Oh, I would go back for that alone. This is my second time at Tark's Grill and was even seated at the same table. We were here for a birthday celebration. I ordered the lobster roll. I liked the aioli sauce was on the side. I also ordered coffee with the dessert. The coffee was good and went well with the cake that we brought. It wasn't as crowded as it was for dinner but I liked that they have outdoor seating with the patio umbrellas so it doesn't get too hot. Our waitress, Doha was attentive and nice. This gorgeous restaurant and patio is one of the best date night/special occasion/outdoor dining spots in the area! After moving to the area 2 years ago, I was a bit leery due to some low reviews but was finally convinced to give it a try and I'm kicking myself for not coming WAY sooner! The menu is extensive and had sooo many delicious looking options, it was hard to choose. While the prices may be a little on the higher side (and they don't have happy hour options), it was a great date night spot that I can't wait to come back for. Pro-tip: make a reservation! The place gets packed, even on a random Wednesday evening. Especially when the weather is gorgeous, be sure to snag a patio reservation! Absolutely loved the fried green tomato and crab appetizer. We also tried the peach and prosciutto flatbread and the BBQ short rib. Everything was great! A non-Atlas, fancy restaurant in Baltimore. Tarks has a new menu with the same community feel and happening vibe. Older people gravitate outside where I this quieter or deeper inside the restaurant. Bar is more middle aged food is excellent!!! Brussel sprouts appetizer deserves a special shout out. Calamari is always good. And the cauliflower appetizer also very worthwhile. Main courses can be expensive. Forty dollars for a fish. Or for half the price you can choose from a number of excellent and well balance meals. Reservations recommended. read more

This might be overwhelming, but there is something for everyone. -All of the entrees we got were delicious! I've dined at Tark's many times over the years, whether for happy hour or small group dinners, and always enjoyed the experience. Naturally, I thought it would be a great place to host a larger dinner party. Unfortunately, that decision proved to be incredibly frustrating and disappointing. Despite my loyalty as a patron, the service and responsiveness around reserving a private room were subpar at best. I followed the instructions given by the hostesses and submitted an email and was told to wait 24-48 hours for a response. No one ever followed up. I called on the second and third day, only to be told that Peter would call me back. At one point, I was even instructed to call at 3:30 p.m., but when I did, I was told he had left early. When another manager finally came to the phone, I asked directly whether the space was available--only then was I told "no." It left me asking: what was the purpose of all the back-and-forth emails and calls if someone could have simply shared the room's availability upfront? The process felt more like screening and deflecting rather than accommodating or even respectfully responding to a long-time guest. What's worse, I later found out that two other colleagues had nearly identical experiences when trying to reserve the same space. This is not how loyal customers should be treated. The lack of professionalism and transparency was unacceptable--and sadly, it has changed the way I view a place I once enjoyed recommending to others. read more

Dear reader this really did happen. SMH. We live near Tark's Grill and went there very often over the spring and summer. My records show 17 visits spending over 3k total. We sit at the bar. The last 2 visits the service went downhill. Bartenders seemed pre occupied and often we sat with empty glasses and maybe in the need of something to complete the meal. They know us by name and first 15 times all good. Things changed ( same staff). The last visit we cut short after trying to get another drink, water, etc. Still tipped 20% - tips = TO INSURE PROPER SERVICE. We went across the street to another restaurant to finish eating ( Joey Chiu's service always great and welcoming). I was annoyed enough to write mgmt at Tark's an email addressing the situation and explained the bartenders had their backs to the patrons and were busy chit chatting, etc and unattentive 2 times in a row. We got frustrated trying to get service. I did not put anything on social media I wrote them directly with my contact info and asked them to see through my email ( you get points for spending over $500) that we are valuable customers. No response at all. Ok, no big deal. Fast forward 2 weeks we tried it again deciding to get a table a not sit at the bar. Here it comes...... A ''manager'' approached us as we entered and told us to leave that we will no be served and Gino the owner does not want us coming back!!!!! I thought it was a joke, my gf was humiliated, we questioned him and he got on a power trip and said bye bye waving his hands towards our faces. He kept saying we are not allowed back in. After reading reviews on Yelp,etc recently it appears customer service is not their strong suit. Average food, prices on the high side, but convenient location. They had a chance to write or call me and make it right but instead they chose to act this way ~ how many people want patrons who frequent their restaurant 17 times spend over 3k and care enough to send an email suggesting they take a look at their service in the bar area. Delicious foods and drinks here! Stopped by on a Monday night, which initially was not crowded but by 6pm the place was packed. Started off with one of their new drinks, fig and rye, which was great. House bread was delicious and we started with the French onion soup and crab dip, both really good. Came out super hot so had to wait a second to dig in but loved how the cheese was perfectly melted on top. The scallops were cooked phenomenally, with a perfect sear on both sides. I had the grilled octopus app as my entree and it was equally delicious. Others at our table had salads. The seared tuna salad looked especially good. Nice bar area as well as a new enclosed outdoor area with some really nice infrared heaters. Pretty good draft beer list... I had a Lunch IPA from Maine Beer Company. They never disappoint! Went for a lunch date to celebrate my birthday and no complaints. Had a Wednesday afternoon, 12 PM reservation, checked in with no problem and seated right away. I had a hard cider, my lunch date had freshly brewed peppermint tea. Our appetizer was the cheesecake spring rolls, yummy. My entrée was the biggest juiciest thickest burger I've ever had and she had a crabcake entrée. The crabcake had almost zero filler and was all meat (always a winner). I went for lunch and they didn't have the blueberry lemon drop that I wanted, she said they took the blueberries off the menu. Megan was my waitress. She was very attentive and informative. I got the Bronzini it was so bland, if it wasn't for the tomatoes I don't think I would have ate it. I also had half/half soup which was good. My date had a crab cake which was bland.
