This is my first time ever leaving a negative review, which says a lot. Unfortunately, our experience at Tarks was upsetting enough that I felt it needed to be shared. We came in for lunch and ordered two Mediterranean salads, one with salmon and one with shrimp, along with two lunch specials. The roasted red peppers on the salads did not taste fresh and left a very bitter aftertaste. There was also a pepperoncini that appeared partially eaten, only about a quarter of it remained attached. We brought this to our waitress's attention, and she was kind, professional, and immediately offered to replace the salad. However, when she returned from the kitchen, the manager approached our table instead. Rather than apologizing or showing concern, he placed two bowls of fresh peppers (which aren't the same from the salad) on the table and told us the chef had tasted the roasted red pepper and "nothing was wrong with it," adding that they "aren't back in the kitchen taking bites out of the food and serving it." He also dismissed the pepperoncini by saying they "sometimes come out that way." It was not just the food issue that bothered us, it was the manager's attitude. His response came across as defensive, dismissive, and condescending instead of customer-focused. A simple apology and respectful conversation would have completely changed the situation. Very large upscale restaurant with outdoor seating. My wife said that she's always wanted to try it. We went on a beautiful sunny Monday for an alfresco lunch. Neither she nor I were overly impressed. The food was good, but not excellent. My Hawaiian chicken club sandwich was tasty but very messy and in fact, I ended up eating it on my plate with a knife and fork. The ahi tuna in her order was a tad overdone and she didn't like the dressing that came with it. The server was very attentive and came by several times to ask if we were enjoying the meal. Bar is more middle aged food is excellent!!! Brussel sprouts appetizer deserves a special shout out. Calamari is always good. And the cauliflower appetizer also very worthwhile. I've dined at Tark's many times over the years, whether for happy hour or small group dinners, and always enjoyed the experience. Naturally, I thought it would be a great place to host a larger dinner party. Unfortunately, that decision proved to be incredibly frustrating and disappointing. Despite my loyalty as a patron, the service and responsiveness around reserving a private room were subpar at best. I followed the instructions given by the hostesses and submitted an email and was told to wait 24-48 hours for a response. No one ever followed up. I called on the second and third day, only to be told that Peter would call me back. At one point, I was even instructed to call at 3:30 p.m., but when I did, I was told he had left early. When another manager finally came to the phone, I asked directly whether the space was available--only then was I told "no." It left me asking: what was the purpose of all the back-and-forth emails and calls if someone could have simply shared the room's availability upfront? The process felt more like screening and deflecting rather than accommodating or even respectfully responding to a long-time guest. What's worse, I later found out that two other colleagues had nearly identical experiences when trying to reserve the same space. This is not how loyal customers should be treated. The lack of professionalism and transparency was unacceptable--and sadly, it has changed the way I view a place I once enjoyed recommending to others. read more

Dear reader this really did happen. SMH. We live near Tark's Grill and went there very often over the spring and summer. My records show 17 visits spending over 3k total. We sit at the bar. The last 2 visits the service went downhill. Bartenders seemed pre occupied and often we sat with empty glasses and maybe in the need of something to complete the meal. They know us by name and first 15 times all good. Things changed ( same staff). The last visit we cut short after trying to get another drink, water, etc. Still tipped 20% - tips = TO INSURE PROPER SERVICE. We went across the street to another restaurant to finish eating ( Joey Chiu's service always great and welcoming). I was annoyed enough to write mgmt at Tark's an email addressing the situation and explained the bartenders had their backs to the patrons and were busy chit chatting, etc and unattentive 2 times in a row. We got frustrated trying to get service. I did not put anything on social media I wrote them directly with my contact info and asked them to see through my email ( you get points for spending over $500) that we are valuable customers. No response at all. Ok, no big deal. Fast forward 2 weeks we tried it again deciding to get a table a not sit at the bar. Here it comes...... A ''manager'' approached us as we entered and told us to leave that we will no be served and Gino the owner does not want us coming back!!!!! I thought it was a joke, my gf was humiliated, we questioned him and he got on a power trip and said bye bye waving his hands towards our faces. He kept saying we are not allowed back in. After reading reviews on Yelp,etc recently it appears customer service is not their strong suit. Average food, prices on the high side, but convenient location. They had a chance to write or call me and make it right but instead they chose to act this way ~ how many people want patrons who frequent their restaurant 17 times spend over 3k and care enough to send an email suggesting they take a look at their service in the bar area. I went for lunch and they didn't have the blueberry lemon drop that I wanted, she said they took the blueberries off the menu. Megan was my waitress. She was very attentive and informative. I got the Bronzini it was so bland, if it wasn't for the tomatoes I don't think I would have ate it. I also had half/half soup which was good. My date had a crab cake which was bland.
