Really was looking forward to coming here with seeing several people post online about it. We went up on a Saturday evening without reservations which I'm not sure they take. [[HIGHLIGHT]]To my luck and delight, there was live music blaring upon entry.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were sat near the bathrooms and kitchen and put in our drink order.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I want to mention they were kind of busy but not swamped, and it took a lot of time in between seating to greeting to drink delivery to ordering to food to dessert to check. In fact, I didn't see much of our waitress out and about at all - blonde with a lot of energy. She was nice but very spotty in checking on us. We ordered the pretzels and cheese for an appetizer to start. They were ok. For my meal I got the pit beef sandwich which came with a horseradish sauce. The time between the ordering to appetizer to meal was LONG. The manager or owner who brought out the meals realized I was getting pissed and tried to smooth things over. Problem was the sandwich was very dry. Pit beef should have some juiciness to it, but honestly it was really dry. The horseradish sauce was nice but had evaporated into the bun - probably from sitting back in the window for 15 minutes without coming out. The best part of the meal was the dessert which was a French dish I can't remember but is pictured. Cold dessert covered in icing and layered inside. It was very good and light Overall it was ok. I'd like to try again but man the waiting for food when it's not very busy thing is a big pet peeve of mine.

Excellent restaurant. We were passing through and needed an open-air area for the kids to run around & refuel ourselves. So glad we found this gem. The food is locally sourced, made in house & truly excellent. The owners run the show -- the brewery and the food & nothing suffers. My husband got the beast burger, made with beef/bison/elk topped with rabbit confit and thinly sliced apples -- he loved it, but did comment it is gamey and unique, so not for someone who isn't adventurous. We both loved the corn elote side ! I got the mahi tacos on homemade tortillas, and the flavors were delicious, fish was fresh ! Side of Brussels and Mac salad was also really tasty and fresh. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was a quiet Monday, but I hope this place gets busy for dinner and weekends because it's a special spot full of flavorful foods and tasty beer !![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would travel for this spot if we lived more locally & we hope to be back soon !!

Great little find! [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place was very clean and quaint.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff here were extremely friendly and responsive! The food was awesome. Both the fries and salad were a great portion and tasted awesome. Highly recommend! We will be back to try more items and their drinks!

Had to go back the next day because it was so good (and also ate the food before any pictures were taken ) Cannot say enough great things - from the service with a smile, kindness of the staff, quality of the food, and joy of the patrons this is now one of my favorites. Their wings are and each has their own unique appeal. The smash burger should win an award pure deliciousness. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The nights we were there had live music, and then the following a fundraiser which was great to see.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Can only imagine how enjoyable it is once the weather warms up and you can enjoy the sweeping views and fresh air.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Can't wait to return!

    Outside of the brewery!

While passing through, we decided to stop and check this place out. Let me tell you, IT WAS SO WORTH IT!! The food was top notch, the staff very friendly & [[HIGHLIGHT]]the place very clean!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We got the crab cake hushpuppies, cherry pepper wings, and korean wings.. .99 per wing!! Oh and the cocktail menu was sup

We stopped by for an early dinner. Chrissy our server was great! We loved the food. Everything we got was good. We are pescatarian and there were plenty of options. The crab deviled eggs and beer cheese pretzels were tasty. But the mushroom soup and the pesto fries were out of this world. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Live music was starting while we were eating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They had variety to the beers and the cocktails sounded great. We got the hazy hazy beer and it was delicious! Must try when in Accident or the surrounding areas.

Second time here and food and service were excellent! I have gone twice and both times I couldn't resist ordering their cod filet meal . It is the best cod I have ever eaten aside from my own mother's cooking . [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is spacious and clean and the garage door/window offers a nice view of the surrounding area and mountains[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] . I was unable to sample the brewery however it looks like they had 6 different brews on tap. [[HIGHLIGHT]]A decorated christmas tree in the corner gave that holiday feel.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Almost forgot , their Wednesday 99 cent wings were very big and delicious . This is definitely a go-to place for us .

Ok... love this place now. Food was flavorful and amazing. Hand cut fries, really delicious smash burger and wings were full of flavor! It's outside of deep creek in accident. We will make this a go to each trip! We got mixed drinks, one was a cucumber and vodka and husband got a Cadillac margarita. Drinks were made perfectly. Very very pleased! Make sure you try it out!

Excellent experience! The beer was delicious and the food incredible. We had the Farmer's Ale, West Coast Pilsner - lumpia, fish & chips, and the smoked turkey sandwich -everything was fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. The fish had perfectly crispy batter, and the smoked turkey was outstanding. We're so glad we found this place--just 10 minutes off 68, and absolutely worth the stop. We'll be back - this is a must-visit!

The food was good in our opinion but the service is terrible. We waited for over 30 minutes for just our beer order. We asked for our appetizers to be served with our meal lmao that didn't happen. Our waitress was not interested in waiting on us at all. She had a table of 7 right next to us and she was waiting on them hand and foot. Our 2 beers sat at the bar for about 10 minutes (our 2nd beers) before she brought them to us. They really need to work on their service.

Friendly service and delicious food and drinks! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Perfect for a casual family meal or friends hangout.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Will definitely return the next time we are in the area.

Choose this place for a group of camp friends to enjoy some brews and good food. The waitress was very friendly and service was fast. Wide variety of food. I got the Beast burger, it was definitely unique. The highlight was the side of balsamic brussel sprouts, they were so good! Great place for a good beer and good food. Would definitely recommend checking it out!

Craft beers, nice decor, good food, great staff, good for a group…read more About 12 of us wanted a meal all together in McHenry MD, and we all like craft beer and pizza, so the Mountain State Brewing Co. restaurant was an easy choice. (Jun 2026). It's a large brew pub with a cabin-like décor, out Sang Run Road just north of Deep Creek Lake. There's a little carved bear by the front door, and a kid-size huggable bear at the host stand. Photo ops! And fun for the kids! They seated us quickly and our server was quick in taking beer orders. They have plenty of soft drinks, and we got Lemonade and Apple Juice, Orange Fanta (a favorite), and a pitcher of Mountain State's own creamy MSBC Root Beer - made here! Beer-wise, there were 16 draft crafts plus a couple of old standards to choose from on a paper menu or by looking at their website or QR-code. Most were around 5% ABV. We had Pennsylvania's full-flavored grassy citrusy mildly-bitter Victory Summer Love golden ale. We raided MSBC's just-west-of-here West Virginia brewery of their creamy malty lightly-bitter Miner's Daughter oatmeal stout, and a lightly-bitter caramel Almost Heaven amber ale. New York's Hudson North brewed us some summery sweet Salted Watermelon cider. And we had some from home: Columbia MD's Black Flag Snozzberry Haze: a fruity piney hazy IPA, standing up at 7% ABV. Baltimore's Mobtown Fever Dream, a creamy flavorful somewhat fruity IPA, punching at 7.4% ABV. And Baltimore's Wico Street Yeah Brah, a strongly-bitter double IPA, clobbering us with an 8.5% ABV! A wonderful fermented tour of the northeast! Get ready to say "yum" out loud... From their wide range of bar foods and appetizers, we had fresh crisp tortilla chips with their medium-spicy cream cheese and homemade-ranch baked Buffalo Chicken Dip, elevated with blue cheese on top and an add-on side of chipotle! They made their own fresh-Spinach & Artichoke Dip with fresh basil, roasted red peppers, and an extravagant blend of cream cheese, feta, mozzarella, asiago, parmesan, and cheddar jack. The giant soft crust Pretzels & homemade Beer Cheese were notably popular with the kids. Salads? Yep. Tasty Lemon Herb Chicken Salad, crisp and crunchy Caesar salad, house salad with requested black olives, and cole slaw. And sides of orange segments and raisin-like cranberries for the little ones. And on to the main feast :-). Simple fried chicken nuggets and off-the-menu Pepperoni Pizza to be sure the younger crowd was satisfied. The Boars Nest sandwich was overnight-tender pulled pork with tangy Carolina BBQ sauce and fresh crunchy cole slaw on a lightly-toasted brioche bun. The spicier "wilder" Wild Boar sandwich had that low-and-slow pulled-pork awakened with bright jalapeños and spicy Chipotle BBQ sauce, topped with provolone on that toasted yet pillowy brioche. The fresh Caprese sandwich had firm ripe Roma tomatoes, tender baby spinach, and fresh mozzarella with requested added chicken. It was all dressed with bright basil dressing, drizzled with tangy sweet balsamic glaze, on crisp and soft toasted Italian bread. A well-made classic caprese re-invented by MSBC as a bright crunchy sandwich! Everyone liked those classic crisp pepperoni pies. From their world-class pizza recipes, we had the Supreme: pepperoni, sausage, onions, green peppers, their cheese blend, and black olives, drizzled with fragrant fresh olive oil. And the vegetarian so-tasty-you-wouldn't-guess it-was-gluten-free Yard Sale pizza: marinated artichokes, prosciutto, mozzarella, with an olive oil & garlic base, sprinkled with fresh basil and a dash of freshly-cracked black pepper. Mountain State Brewing Co. gave us a memorable spread of great beers and delicious creative foods. You know we enjoyed leftovers the next day :-) Our terrific server Claire was ever-attentive, and between you and me, made it seem effortless to host our full table of hungry adults and kids. We'll be back, especially for their wide-ranging ever-changing draft list and those amazing pizzas!

We came in to get drinks to go with our food (we got food from the food truck outside "Firebox"). The food from Firebox was good and it was a generous portion for the price. The drink options that were not beer were limited, and half of those options on the menu weren't available. My partner got the berry chocolate stout and said it was "pretty good". We hoped to sit outside, but the only available table had broken glass all over it from a busted door. It does have convenient parking and I liked the industrial decor. The service was good and the lady was very nice. One thing I will point out is that one of our glasses had pink lipstick on it from a previous customer. But if you only want beer and a place to chill - it might be just right for you.

I also appreciate the ample outdoor seating available. Always a big plus for me, even if the outdoor area is really just tables set up on the sidewalk overlooking the parking lot - as it is in this case. The service was fine. It wasn't crazy busy there but the bartender had a little edge to her like we were more on an annoyance than a patron. They have a refill club where you can buy a mug and get your name printed on it with discounted refills. Again I appreciate that kind of thing, but the bartender seemed way more interested in some of the regulars than us. Just the vibe she gave off that night I guess. And lastly the beer...it's solid. Not great, but solid. Lots of darker beers which is fine for me personally, but the darks outnumbered the IPAs, pilsners, etc the night we were there. I'd expect a little more variety. Still, it's good enough that I'd go back next time I'm in Cumberland, but not so good that I'd make a special trip out of my way.
