There are no words that can adequately describe how delicious Craig's food is. I am not joking when I say every one of my wedding guests raved about the food. A few family members asked for their number to cater their 4th of July parties. We ate the leftovers for days after (so don't worry about your guests not getting enough at the buffet) and the chicken and turkey were still as moist as the day they originally made it. My husband and I live on the west coast and are devastated we can't come to eat at their restaurant every week. Charlie was also so wonderful to work with! She was very communicative and accommodating. We had a few guests with allergies and they were easily able to find a solution. They were even able to hire a few bartenders from their staff. The third style of business, that I can recall, in the last 20+ years, and just like the others, this will likely go away in time. Typical of Brewpubs, beer and mediocre meals. First, the beer. I have had much better, though the double bock and the Doc Brown Ale were the best with the double bock being a little too sweet. At 7 bucks a pint, it is the average price. This place won't attract me for beer alone. The menu is rather simple in terms of selections which should offer an opportunity to excel with food, thus keeping people returning. I found what I tried to be rather bland and typical of brewpubs. Smashburger. Bland, though I suspect the tomato jam and roasted garlic mayo were supposed to give the flavor depth. I wish I could have tasted these separately to fully analyze. At 16.26, I can find better. I tried the blue cheese salad dressing and was disappointed. It was like eating sour cream with a hint of blue cheese. This is so easy to make and taste good. The hand beer battered cod was also bland. Just not impressed. The fresh cut fries are typical of fresh fries. Not great. If you're willing to put time in it, you can make great fries. Overall, the menu selections could be better. I would think a nice steak salad or something like that may do well. The steak pinsa is the closest, I guess, but would be better with a salad. The service was mediocre even though our server was friendly. When you emphasize beer, tis best to visit often to see if the customer would like another. Don't wait until the meal is nearly finished. Will I be back? I want to try a few other dishes to get a more complete idea of this place, but I can see this place fading away like the others that come and go. read more

***This is a review of the new Oakland, Md location, not the Accident, Md location*** Don't expect what you get at the Accident, Md location to be available at the new Oakland, Md location. We've been to the Accident location multiple times, and love it. My g/f lives in Oakland, and we were really excited about them opening a location in Oakland. Looked online, and were excited to see (or so we thought) that they had the same menu at both places. Boy, were we wrong. They had maybe 1/3 of the items available in Oakland. Also, they don't have the same beverage options. Yes, they have the same beers (mostly), but my g/f is not really a beer drinker, but loves the Sauvignon Blanc they have in Accident. Nope, not available in Oakland. Finally, they make this big deal about how they use fresh food and local ingredients. We went there we another couple, who have been to the Oakland location a couple of times and liked it. The waitress mentioned that they had a shrimp stir-fry special, so I elected to get that, as did both of the people in the other couple. Well, that was a mistake. Rather than 'fresh' ingredients, the vegetables came out of a bag of frozen Asian vegetables, and the stir fry sauce looked and tasted like it came out of a bottle from Aldi or Trader Joe's. There were plenty of decent sized shrimp, but probably 1/4 of mine still had pieces of shell on them, and both of the other servings had pieces of shell left on the shrimp. And lastly, the service. The server seemed pleasant enough, but I'm not sure that they have ever been a server before. We got a plate of wings for an appetizer to split. They were quite tasty. They gave us small plates to eat off of. When the meals came out, we moved them to the edge of the table, along with empty drink glasses. They were not taken away when we were served our meals, and the server walked by the table at least 5 times, and never took them away. It's such a radical departure from the experience at the Accident location. I really hope they can turn the Oakland location around. My g/f said that she won't go back to the Oakland location, but has no problem driving 20 miles to the Accident location. read more

Really was looking forward to coming here with seeing several people post online about it. We went up on a Saturday evening without reservations which I'm not sure they take. In fact, I didn't see much of our waitress out and about at all - blonde with a lot of energy. She was nice but very spotty in checking on us. We ordered the pretzels and cheese for an appetizer to start. They were ok. For my meal I got the pit beef sandwich which came with a horseradish sauce. The time between the ordering to appetizer to meal was LONG. The manager or owner who brought out the meals realized I was getting pissed and tried to smooth things over. Problem was the sandwich was very dry. Pit beef should have some juiciness to it, but honestly it was really dry. The horseradish sauce was nice but had evaporated into the bun - probably from sitting back in the window for 15 minutes without coming out. The best part of the meal was the dessert which was a French dish I can't remember but is pictured. Cold dessert covered in icing and layered inside. It was very good and light Overall it was ok. I'd like to try again but man the waiting for food when it's not very busy thing is a big pet peeve of mine. read more

My review of the Accident location stands--phenomenal. We tried the new Oakland outpost this weekend. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Really great space, fun outdoor seating, everyone is super friendly and they're very careful with things like allergies.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This location has a much smaller menu due to a much smaller kitchen. Lots of apps, a trio of salads, and a few entrees. Those entrees at the moment are a burger, two pork and one lamb, so if you're a chicken/fish eater, you're much better off at the other restaurant which has delicious options in those categories. What we had was yummy, portions are generous, people are awesome, and the evening was very fun, but I'd love to see a chicken or fish main added to the menu. read more

This place is awesome and worth a day trip ro visit. My only caveat would be to see if they have the brisket going that day. It's ridiculously good. I would put their brisket on par with what you'd find in central Texas. The sandwhich comes with more tender juicy brisket than you can eat. Everything else on the menu is great as well. The service is top notch and the place is super clean. If it was ten minutes closer, I'd be ten pounds heavier! Excellent restaurant. We were passing through and needed an open-air area for the kids to run around & refuel ourselves. So glad we found this gem. The food is locally sourced, made in house & truly excellent. The owners run the show -- the brewery and the food & nothing suffers. My husband got the beast burger, made with beef/bison/elk topped with rabbit confit and thinly sliced apples -- he loved it, but did comment it is gamey and unique, so not for someone who isn't adventurous. We both loved the corn elote side ! I got the mahi tacos on homemade tortillas, and the flavors were delicious, fish was fresh ! Side of Brussels and Mac salad was also really tasty and fresh. Second time here and food and service were excellent! I have gone twice and both times I couldn't resist ordering their cod filet meal . It is the best cod I have ever eaten aside from my own mother's cooking . We have had a cabin near Sang Run for over 40 years and finding good food in and around Deep Creek Lake is always a challenge as this area has always been where food dreams come to die! There are some good places, in our opinion, like Brenda's Pizzeria (the best New York style pizza Anywhere!), Ace's Run, Firewater, and one or two in Oakland but for the most part, that's it. Everything else is 2 star at best. We went last night and with the exception of a bit of slow service, the beer and food were excellent! My wife had the Arugula beet and goat cheese salad and it was delicious. I got the stuffed Elk burger and it was beyond delicious and cooked medium rare to perfection. The most disgusting meal I've had in a long time. I got the chicken bacon ranch wrap. They asked if I wanted it smoked I said sure. I was expecting sliced smoked chicken breast, fresh lettuce and tomato, their ranch dressing according to the menu. what I got was like a purée buffalo chicken salad with every ingredient mixed into a blended ball with nasty dressing almost like a tangy mayo but dripping and running out the wrap ends, I thought they sold me tuna salad. the chef came over and explained that he smoked it then rolled it in a bunch of sauces. Then they add 2 more sauces? With the ingredients all mixed together The fries greasy and soggy. Nobody explained this to me or else I would have picked something else. My guests had the cod which was bland and nothing great. Another had a burnt burger. This place needs some major help. The service was not too bad which was the only plus, but they didn't really explain the menu well. My wife and I love this place. Whenever I travel I look for a brew house. Near Deep Creek Lake this one is the only real brew house, all the rest are tap rooms. I enjoy the beer that is brewed in-house. I also enjoy the food and the people running this place. I reviewed some of the other reviews where people complained about the slow service, while I have experienced it, the good far outweighs the inconvenience of a long wait when busy. Moreover, I generally give a pass on slow service on Fridays and Saturdays, noting most place that are worth going to struggle with quick service on those nights. So, for me ....
