I came here for Dat based on the reviews, but there were a few people in line to see him. So basically, I ended up getting a haircut from this guy Anthony. I didn't know what to expect and if he would do a good job. Come to find out, he used to be a barber down in Pineville and it is semi retired so only here a few days a week. He was friendly, precise, and did such a wonderful job on my haircut. His blending skills were on point, the neck shave was nice, and he was very good at listening to exactly what I wanted. If I could give zero stars I would. Brought a visitor to the shop for a beard touch up and barber did a horrible job. Sides of beard were completely uneven. Some areas longer than others and lines not cleaned up. read more

This one will definitely be a quick one. Kim is who I go to and I definitely trust her for all my hair cuts. I drive from Knoxville, TN home for haircuts, and she's the one that does it. She takes appointments, but every time that I've came here before it was for walk-ins and honestly, I don't have any qualms. If you need a cut, she's the one to go to. I've always paid in cash, so I think that's probably the best way to go. But, if I remember correctly they do take credit cards. If you don't like Kim, I would definitely recommend to get Dat to cut your hair. He's knowledgeable as well and will give you a clean cut. read more

$20 for a haircut in this area isn't terrible but they left hair behind my ears and the service was less than desirable! They don't have anything less than a 0.8 blade so I couldn't even get the haircut I wanted. I won't be coming back here again! read more

Have been coming here for almost 2 years. When I moved to charlotte, I went through several barber shops and was always disappointed, but I found this place on yelp and have never gone anywhere else. I have only had my hair cut by Dat (off Monday) and he is awesome, great fade, great cut every time. If your searching for a barber who will cut your hair however you want, try this place and let Dat cut your hair (name plates on mirror). Anthony gives the best haircut in town. No meaningless chit chat or loud gossip. Just a very peaceful haircut experience. I visit every 3 weeks or so. He gave me a good idea for what to do with my sideburns since one of my ears has a slight birth defect. He only works there a few days of the week. Probably the best barber I've ever had in my life. I am picky when it comes to my hair, know this! I have been going here for about 15 years. They have kept their prices as low as possible and do top quality work. All of the barbers are great and can get you out quickly and make you look good. Kim is my go to barber and has made me feel like family. They are back up and running after the CV19 lockdown, so please go and support these fine barbers as they were forced to close for 10 weeks and did not receive unemployment! Ok...I am a little biased. This is the first place that I ever had my hair cut (other than mom) and that was in 1970. The owner of the shop (Brew), is normally the one that cuts my hair. I am in the military (part time) and he is one of the few barbers that knows how to do a REAL flat top and shave the sides and back. Blends it in perfectly. As long as I am in Charlotte and he is not retired, I will be back to this shop. It is an Old School shop, about 5 chairs and at least 3 barbers on duty at any given time. If you grew up in the area, your are bound to run into someone you know. Highly recommended! read more

I stopped in on a Saturday and although it was pretty busy, I did not have to wait too long because they had 3 or 4 barbers working. One of the female barbers cut my hair, and while the cut did not look bad, it was not really what I had asked for. So, I was a little disappointed in what I got, but the price is good, the barbers are friendly, and the place is well-run. read more

I went on a Saturday and there was one barber on duty, but she did an outstanding job. She was very pleasant, friendly, and efficient. She even finished my cut by shaving my neck with a straight razor. That is the type of old school barber shop I like. Gave me one of the quickest haircuts I have ever had and still had time to shave my neck with a straight razor. It was cash only but way worth it. I recommend this spot to anyone. I've found my go to Barber finally & the only reason I'm giving a review (& risking waiting for his chair) is because his skill and personality outweigh my wait. "Guy" is my guy. he's an older Ex-Marine with more stories than you can listen to in a lifetime. Nice as hell, accommodating and remembers you. If you want that old school Men's cut that's back in style, a Military Cuts, or business cut go to Guy you won't be disappointed but give yourself time for a story or three lol. Just don't take my time slot on Saturdays Ok? Really awesome Barber & Guy. You can't beat the value, and quality of a haircut from Dat at Brewington's Barber Shop. It's next to the Home Depot at the corner of South Blvd and Woodlawn. She cut it how I asked and gave me all the options i could choose from and I actually did take her advice. Both my hair and beard turned out great. I had a different person every time I went to this place, not by choice, and the price was different every time, the last time it was more expensive($30) than I have ever paid anywhere which is mind boggling considering that I had already been to this place twice before for the same exact thing and only paid 20 dollars including tip. The first two people were nice(older Caucasian gentlemen, young oriental lady) but the last woman I had(older, darker skin tone) was very very rude and extremely unprofessional, not to mention the awful job she did on my hair. Absolutely no redeeming quality. After 3 chances, I will not be coming back here ever again, I'd rather go to super cuts and that is saying a lot. If you are someone who likes their hair to be right without having to babysit your barber, this is not the place for you. Steer clear, especially of the older dark skinned woman, she is terrible in every way. read more

Went to this shop for 3 years, but sadly moved out of the area. Tried different barbers there, but settled on either Dat or Kim. Fantastic cuts, always taking their time and making sure it looks perfect. Never had to wait too long (as long as you go on off hours like I did). Clean. Friendly atmosphere. Can hold a good conversation if you're in the mood or just leave you alone if your lost in your thoughts. read more
