Situated just outside of AMC Fountains 18 (#1), the exterior of Brewskis would look just like the rest of a suburban plaza that it resides in. Essentially it looks like an extremely casual, safe, and typical drinking hole. Go inside and it's a different story. The place is a bit dated, reeking of cigarette smoke, and feels like a dive bar, but a massive one. The bartenders were a bit curt and didn't seem all that enthusiastic to serve my group and I, so it once we got our drinks it was off to the outside patio to escape the smokey aura. The drinks weren't particularly noteworthy, save for some of their weekly drink specials and solid draft selection. The food was much of the same, a typical smattering of bar classics from wings to burgers and waffle fries. While not much has impressed, the prices most certainly did. They have a sub $10 menu for most of their foods including a daily specials that are single digit pricing. As expected, there are also themed nights that range from ladies night to trivia to karaoke. I can tell you until you're brew in the face that neighbourhood bars in places like Buffalo and Milwaukee are far better, but by Houston standards, this is a nice pub to have in the suburbs. Watch out about driving home though. They're not too expensive (but not cheap either), and I haven't had anyone try to fight me here yet (which usually happens when I go in a bar), so I'd say all in all, it's well worth a trip if you're looking for a new neighbourhood bar. read more

I dont know who the male bartender was tonight but he was HORRIBLE and very rude. There was an African American male threatening people outside from coming inside and my friends and I were trying to come in to get a drink and the bartender thought it was our fault for starting a fight? We were innocent and just were trying to avoid the African male waving an Exacto knife at us with blood on the pavement. It was scary . And the bartender wouldn't even call the cops? I am definitely not a regular here, so I can see why some people complained you will get ignored. However, having been here a few times, but not enough to stand out to the staff- I think most of that type of service is out the window. I think regulars do get special treatment, but the people who come visit are not getting ignored like they use too. Plus the staff smiles now. We once had a very grumpy looking guy giving us beers and cider. I was almost afraid to order from him again a few months back. The ambience and smoking are the two things that have me on the fence about this bar. There's nothing wrong with wanting to smoke a cigar. No judgement here. However, I don't want to be around it every time I go there. However, I do have to say it is cool that you can smoke a cigar there. I just know that's not for everyone. As for the vibe... The energy always feels very confused in there. Like, is this a chill bar? A sports bar? A neighborhood bar? It's like it wants to be so many things at once and can't quite make it work. The crowd is diverse. I've seen my old elderly church friends go there and hot chicks in their 20s wearing what 20 year old hot chicks wear. Everyone keeps to their own little circles. Food is generally okay. I think beer prices went up a bit, however the cider is decent. Not sure if the choices are limited or if I'm just picky. I think I'm picky-with cider at least. This place probably makes a great neighborhood bar. I just haven't invested enough time to call it my own. I pretty much am in love with my favorite bar elsewhere. However, I wouldn't count this place out yet. The fact the staff is friendlier now than before tells me they are doing their best to bring customers back. I just don't think they've found their niche yet, and I'm not quite convinced they are full fledged neighborhood bar just yet. Best time to check this place out is during a baseball game to get a feel for what to expect. And let me know if you like this place. I visited this bar on 4/19/25 and was having a great time--until it was time to close my tab. First, they gave me the wrong check to sign. When I finally received the correct one, the staff member told me my tip "wasn't appropriate" for my order, which was completely out of line. I asked to speak with a manager, only to be told he was the manager. It was clear they're more concerned with maximizing tips than providing good service or retaining customers. Staff and general vibes have improved TREMENDOUSLY since I last visited this bar 6-7 months ago. Overall not bad I'm not a smoker so that is why only 3 starts. Parking is not a problem. I visited on a week day evening with a friend who smokes and he loves this place. You can smoke anywhere. We just had a few drinks it is a decent neighborhood bar. Music is heavy metal, rock etc. The crowd appears to be local neighborhood folks. My boyfriend and I frequented Barry's Pizza when it used to be at this location, so we decided to try whatever took it's place. Let's just say this place is nowhere near Barry's caliber (and of course, it's not pizza, haha). As soon as I walked in I didn't like it. It was very, very small-town-bar-ish. There was also nobody sitting in general seating, just a bunch of people at the bar (some who were smoking) who obviously knew the staff there. We stood there for maybe 30 seconds before we were noticed, (trivial, but being that it was so empty there I still considered this an offense) and I almost considered walking back out based on that and my initial thoughts on the ambiance. On the flip side, when we were greeted, the bartender/waitress was very nice, which continued through our visit. The food was again very bar-ish. I keep saying that because many "bar and grills" still have a modern, clean feel to them but I feel this is a true bar. Even still, it wasn't enough to keep me coming back. Came here to watch a Texans game because some of the other places nearby were packed. Upon walking in, the strong smoke in the air is like a slap in the face. If you're not a smoker, you may opt to sit outside, which is what we did. Although smoking is allowed outside, too, it doesn't linger around your face like the inside does. The service was terrible and the main reason why I'm giving them 2 stars. Our waitress would check on us several times during 10 minutes, then disappear for half an hour. Our appetite was kind of ruined from all the smoke, so we just had some chips and salsa and a few beers. It's pretty hard to mess up chips and salsa, but they'd be better off just serving store bought salsa. I don't expect a bar to have amazing food and quick service during a Texans game, especially near the end of the season. We were just glad they had seating for the game and beer, but even having low expectations didn't justify the fact that we had an awful experience here. Cool local bar with a good vibe. I came in today around 5pm and was instantly greeted by the two bartenders, Robin and Jessi. They provided prompt service and created a fun atmosphere. I was going to have just two beers and leave, but was having so much fun I stayed several hours. The bartenders changed around 7pm and a bearded guy (think named Joseph) and Cathy took charge of the bar. They both provided great service and kept the vibe going.
