I was disappointed with my recent visit to Brewster Street Pub on Holly and Staples. The service throughout our meal was lacking. My side dish was incorrect when it arrived, and despite bringing it to the staff's attention, the correct side was never brought out. Even more frustrating, my friend waited over an hour and a half for his food. We asked several staff members about the delay, but there was little communication or follow-up, and the food still took an unreasonable amount of time to arrive. To top it off, when I asked for a to-go box, the staff member who assisted me seemed annoyed and dismissive. There was no smile, no apology for the issues we'd experienced, and the interaction felt like an inconvenience to them. I understand that restaurants can have busy nights, but better communication, attention to customer concerns, and basic courtesy would have made a significant difference. I came during a happy hour so margeritas were $3. It came frosty and was sweet and tart. Dinner was a big let down. Husband had a burger which looked and tasted generic. My buffalo chicken sandwich was not so great either. Meat tasted like it was a freezer chicken breast. Fries were average fries. At least the portions were big. We visited Brewster Street Icehouse 3 times ... in 3 days ! Very welcoming, kind and amazing service by Angela our bartender. The Brew staff kept the bar fully stocked and tables were cleaned quickly after customers left ready for the next ones to arrive. Lovely calm location .. great live tunes / not too loud which is appreciated to continue to be able to have conversations. Shout out to Hayden in the food order area ... she was busy for hours straight and kept her brilliant smile and customer service was her number one priority! Highly recommended! "Not so good" reviews seem to be dominating posts lately. I didn't check here before we went for lunch for our first and only visit. We ordered too much admittedly, but what we got was disappointing overall. I got the Classic burger with fries, wife got the chopped steak and a cup of chicken tortilla soup on the side. We also ordered some fried mushrooms for a starter. Like I said...we ordered too much food but the price wasn't shocking for the AMOUNT. The mushrooms were actually pretty good. They did not last. Actual meal arrived and as we started to dig in, the disappointment arose. My burger was not as well done as I prefer, a bit rare. And it was bland. The bun was good, the quality of the toppings good. It was the beef. Bland. Wife said she wouldn't order the soup again as it was buried in cheese...that was her impression...not the flavor of the food. Over-abundance of cheese. The potatoes included were more to her liking and the salad was nice and fresh. But her main course was that chopped steak and her description? Bland. The restaurant is spot-on sports bar vibe: prerequisite beer signs, "junkyard finds" and such hanging on the walls. The music wasn't blasting so loudly you can't speak...it was just mostly country. Never was really awesome but is nice location.. ordered a dozen oysters on the half shell they were so hot mutilated I was afraid to eat them not counting the hair I found them showed it to the bartender and she laughed and said it's not my color. Chicken portions are absurdly small for a dinner plate. Burgers were average at best. Mozzarella sticks were barely warm, served with marinara so chunky and watery you can't get it on the stick. Cajun pasta seemed like the lid fell off the chili flake jar and they scooped it out. Mac and cheese was overcooked and bland. There's a group of cocktail waitresses that stand at the corner of the bar near the servers station, they never leave the corner, stay on there phones or talk to eachother, never once moving to offer or deliver drinks to seated customers. Truly is a site to see how much of a train wreck the service is, not sure if they even staff a manager. I'm glad I'm forced to give a one star minimum as the experience is so pathetic it provides a fair comedic value. read more

One of the worst dining experiences of my life. My wife and I stopped in on a Tuesday afternoon. We have eaten here a couple of time before and found it pretty good. This last time was terrible. Right from the start, the woman taking our order acted like we were some sort of inconvenience to her. Mind you there was nobody in line and about six people eating and drinking in the entire place. She talked so fast that I had to ask her to repeat herself a couple of times. Then as she was waiting for my credit card receipt to print, another employee walked up to her and they started talking about the styrofoam cups behind the counter. HELLO....I am a paying customer standing right in front of you. Basic customer service would suggest that you finish your interaction with me, then speak with your fellow employee. Then the food comes and the server practically threw it on the table and we never saw her again. Then, I walked up to refill our drinks and another employee was getting some tea. She finished and was in such a hurry and in her own world that she almost ran right into me in her haste to get back to the bar so she could continue chatting about something that was no doubt very important with her fellow employees all huddled up,at the end of the bar. I suppose it's hard to find people who want to work these days, but, come on, at least look for people who have some common courtesy and understand that unless customers come in and buy stuff in your restaurant that they won't have a job! We will never go back to this place again. Get your attitude right. read more

My granddaughter LOVED the playground. Food was good. Not over the top, but okay. What upset me most as a disabled person is that it was NOT ADA friendly. I use a walker and there was NO ramp to get up to the decking. Not on any of the entrances. My husband had to half carry me up three steps and it was very dangerous. with the wide staircases, and only three steps, it would be so easy to put a ramp for walkers and wheelchairs,and this establishment has FAILED to do so. Their food is just meh. Unseasoned. I think people only go for the play areas and the atmosphere or to drink. If they could learn how to cook a burger I would go here often. I will literally beg the server to put it in as medium rare just so it comes out with at least a little juice in it. The cook will just grill it until it turns into a patty made out of sand and dirt. I'm usually not one to write negative reviews, but my recent visit was so profoundly disappointing that I feel compelled to share. The entire meal was a culinary disaster from start to finish. The "tacos" were the first red flag. The chicken was a bizarre, grated texture and completely devoid of color or seasoning--it was a bland, pale mess. To make matters worse, they had run out of sour cream, a fundamental component for tacos. The side dishes were equally awful; they featured the same unappealing, grated meat, came with no cheese, and were shockingly small. Things went from bad to worse with the other entrees. The shrimp dish was served cold and was completely unseasoned, a frustrating waste of what should have been a simple, flavorful dish. The burger looked like a sad, anemic patty from a value menu, a far cry from what you'd expect at a restaurant. Perhaps the most insulting part was the serving of French fries. We were each given a paltry pile of around 10 fries. It felt less like a meal and more like a sad joke. The complete lack of quality, seasoning, and basic presentation made it clear that very little care goes into the food here. Save your money and your appetite and dine elsewhere. I gave one star but I'd like to add our waitress was lovely. read more

Visited Brewster Street ice House while in town for the holiday. The service was mediocre and so was the food. There are ample televisions if you want to catch a game. The ambience of the restaurant is very laid back and there is ample seating inside and out (weather permitting). Don't really plan on visiting this location again when I am in town. Bun was toasted but again it tasted like it had been sitting around and not fresh at all. If that was a half pound then I have lost my mind. Way overcooked. If I could give this place a 0 Star, I would. OK. Let me just say that I think this place is great if you want to be outside, drinking and dine with kids-because you need to keep them preoccupied. I would not recommend this place if you want a nice, quiet place to eat with your loved ones. Food: it was basically bar food at its worst. I tried the pasta with shrimp and my husband had a burger. Others at our table had quesadillas and various other things. None of them were tasty. Restaurant atmosphere: Again, if you like bar food, that's greasy, fried and not tasty, you'll love it. Human poop. While she was crying hysterically, the table next to us came over to say their child HAD ALSO gotten the same poop on them. They had notified the manager already a half hour ago, but it hadn't been handled. When confronted about the situation, the manager said "This isn't a priority. We are busy." How is human poop on a PLAYGROUND with twenty kids playing NOT a priority? Absolutely disgusting and totally unprofessional. The food is actually quite tasty and the Bartenders are not bad (make pretty decent drinks) however the overall experience sucked and here's why: I went specifically to watch the biggest game on Saturday, September 23rd @ 2:30 pm - it was Prime Time's Colorado Buffs vs the Oregon Ducks. When I asked the female manager if the establishment could turn on the sound for this game, get this - her response was "I'm sorry, we only play the sound for Texas teams, like the Aggies or Longhorns" - I then looked around and there were probably 4 tables of people and me so I replied with "there's hardly anyone here and this is the biggest game on today!" She still managed to decline my request. I was in total shock! Are you kidding me? So they turned on lame music and I was forced to watch the game with music until halftime, then I went to Little Woodrows in hopes that I could hear the game, and guess what? Thankfully the outside bar area was showing the game on the big screen. (Yeah!!) What a waste of my time and money. Again the food (specifically the shrimp tacos and seasoned French Fries) and the vodka tonic were tasty but the fact that they would not accommodate really rubbed me the wrong way. We have been on several occasions and here recently the crowd has been rough. The playground is full of kids not being supervised by parents. There were numerous kids that were throwing dirt and cursing at other kids. No parents in sight to discipline or watch the kids. The food also was very bad and overcooked.
