I have long been a fan of Eat the Street in Kaka'ako but this was my first time at the Kapolei event. I enjoyed it very much as I thoroughly enjoy any type of football atmosphere (since it takes place on the high school's football field). Many of the same food truck vendors I like at Kaka'ako are at the Kapolei event. The only downside is it seems some of the vendors downsize their menu or condiments for the Kapolei event. I think having it on the football field is a wonderful idea. It was actually refreshing to be able to kick off my slippers and sit/lay down on the field and enjoy my food as well as the entertainment. You wouldn't catch me doing that on the hot pavement of Kaka'ako. If I can schedule it right, I will be at many more of the Kapolei Eat the Streets!!

Here's the guys! Always friendly and smiling!

Had such an awesome time this afternoon with the hubby sampling various delicious treats. Our first stop was by the KSSK tent where they were so graciously handing out small bottles of sunscreen to the patrons. So grateful for that as it was blazing out. We started our tasting at the Wild Candy Bacon Company booth. I was so excited that there was no line as we weren't able to try anything last night at the Kakaako Eat the Street. I had the chocolate peanut butter and my hubby had the pineapple lihing mui. They were both a candied bacon delight! The pineapple lihing tasted like a Thanksgiving candied ham and the chocolate peanut butter had just the right balance of both chocolate, and peanut butter which left me smiling from ear to ear. From there we made our way to the Kapolei Lofts tent to redeem our flyers that we had received at the Kakaako Eat the Street from the night before for $1 off coupons. When we got there they seemed clueless about the whole thing. They offered us a reusable bag and a chance to win a $50 Foodland gift card by way of a drawing. They told us to come back a little later so we went on our way. Right on over to visit our beloved Yelp booth! As usual we were greeted by enthusiastic friendly people. I was delighted to see Ben there representing after working hard at last night's booth. Chatted a bit got some schwag then we were off to find out about our coupons. We were happy to hear that they came to a solution and was told to use the bottom of the flyer as our coupon. They preceded to rip them and hand us back the bottom portion to use. The majority of the places we went to knew nothing about it but accepted them anyway. Hawaiian Twisted Tater was calling our names next. We ordered a large cheesy bacon ranch twisted Tater and they did not disappointe! It was loaded with gooey golden goodnes over crispy potatoe tendrils that we devoured in no time flat! Our next stop on our sinful excursion was the famous Seoul Sausage Co. where we ordered a Galbi sausage with kimchi relish to share. We ordered the relish on half as my husband isn't a kimchi lover like me. We got our sausage smoking hot and just the way we ordered it. This was a carnival of flavors for my taste buds! I was beginning to wish that we hadn't ordered just one but then realized that there were lots more goodies to enjoy. I was craving some shrimp so we headed over to a tent that had a plate for just $10! It had a scoop of rice, corn, toss salad and enough shrimp for my husband and I to share. It really hit the spot! The shrimp were cooked to perfection. The only critique is that the corn tasted like it came right out of the can and wasn't heated. That aside the plate was well worth the $$. After that we were starting to feel parched and thought an ice cold mason jar of lemonade sounded delighful so we headed to 'Nalo made Lemonade. We ordered the Lihing flavor and gulped it down before we made it to another booth! We had to head back for a refill. The price was a deal at $8 and $4 refills. The sweet and sour lemonade got us in the mood for some dessert so we hopped next door to pop pop donuts for a sweet treat. We ordered the 2 flavor deal for $6. You get 14 mini donuts with a choice of 2 different flavors. We opted for half ores and half coconut glaze. Let me just say mmmm good! I felt bad eating get these without the kids but couldn't stop myself from licking my fingers when I was done . By this time we where getting a little stuffed and started to head out but on our way we saw something irresistible...Mega-Load Burgers! Boy was I glad we stopped! They had so many mouth watering choices, which they had out on display. We decided on the Three Little Pigs (three beef sliders with ham, pulled pork and cheese and a side of fries). Unfortunately I can't remember what we paid for it because my memory is clouded with memories of deliciousness! Whatever the cost it was worth it! Completely stuffed and ready to have a kanak attack we headed back to the car. It was an awesome day!

Tonight was the kind of night where people walked by and you wish it was the kind of world where it was okay to ask people for a "bite" or a "taste" of their food as you "ooh'd" and drooled over their food choices and second guessed everything you put in your mouth since everything that walked by looked better than what you had just tasted (even though it was delicious). I have missed the last two Eat The Streets in town since living here and this was my first Eat The Street and I absolutely loved the atmosphere out at Kapolei. It was a very relaxed atmosphere with a nice food truck set up, lots of parking, and lots of space for other vendors to set up and for families, and other groups to sit and relax and eat their goodies. There were also representatives from some community agencies and some performers there as well. My highlight of the night was plantation tea because anyone who knows me knows I can drink iced tea by the bucket and I had two of them while there from Hawaiian Fresh Farms. I also look forward to checking them out on Sundays at the Farmer's Market in Kailua. I also enjoyed gyoza to go from Gyoza No Ohsho which are currently awaiting to be eaten. Tacos from a vendor whose name escapes me but they had AMAZING mango salsa to go with the tacos. The meat was also delicious AND they had chile rellenos! #nom OH and I finally broke my boba virginity! *weeps* I tried some other things that are escaping me as well but it was a good time had by all and I'm definitely looking forward to more!

My friend send me this event on Facebook EAT THE STREET, so me and my boyfriend went here today. And bruhhh! So many choices of food! I've read the details for this event it says "bring picnic blankets" so I was like okay it's for family and friends, that's good!! The lemonade is the bomb!! Definitely looking forward for the next EAT THE STREET!

    Sushi slider... Pretty good!!

i had so much darn fun trying out all the different food vendors!!! fat girl status for sure!!! if there's one you can make,i would HIGHLY recommend you bring your booty out to one of these events. make sure to bring friends cause the portions can be big and too much for a single person to handle if you're trying to try several different vendors!!

I hit follow right away -- and when I saw they were nearby, I waddled my very pregnant self over to grab a plate. I ordered their Combo Plate: two scoops rice sprinkled with furikake, crab potato salad, fried noodles, and two proteins. I chose garlic fried chicken and teri beef. It was so good I actually cried a little. Living on the Big Island, everything was so far, and I couldn't satisfy my cravings easily -- so finally having a real plate lunch felt like comfort and home all at once. I hadn't been back since, mostly because they don't have a set schedule, and whenever they were close by, Bubba would be napping or I'd find out too late. But today, I finally got to go again -- and this time I brought Bubba. And she remembered me. "Weren't you pregnant last time?" she said. Such a small thing, but honestly an amazing memory and such a warm customer experience. Bubba and I had a little sidewalk picnic together. He tried fried noodles for the first time, loved the teri beef, and of course devoured the rice -- his forever favorite. I saved half the plate for my boyfriend since he's working. It felt like such a full-circle moment... sharing with my son the exact plate lunch that made me cry (in the best way) when I was pregnant with him.

Got there this time after 11:00 am. I think it was about 11:20. I was 3rd in line ordering. I ordered the after school special plate includes 5 rolls taegu Kim chee sushi rolls and 4 pieces boneless fried chicken. The rolls were tasty and the fried chicken was crispy skin and a lightly salted. Told the girl inside the truck we looked for you guys last week thursday and you guys wasn't there. She started to laugh explaining why they weren't there but I cut her off and said that day we came back 3 times couldn't find them we went home. LOL. Took a picture of their menu. If you in the area, stop by. Support them. They make everything fresh it's about a 20 min wait. P.S. They only open Tuesday through Friday 11-3pm.

Hubby was able to stop by there to grab us late lunch/early dinner before he was closed for the day. The wait was a bit long because it's a one-man show. But the wait was pretty worth it. For months my boyfriend had been wanting to try these smash burgers, but he works during the day--and I honestly didn't think they'd survive the wait until he got home. Thankfully, we finally got to try them together, and it was so worth it. This is a true one-man operation, so it does take a bit of time to place your order--but trust me, the wait pays off. My boyfriend got the OG Smash Burger and immediately regretted not adding an extra patty... or ordering a second burger altogether. I went with the Pineapple Express, and as my very first smash burger experience? I was obsessed. Pro tip: get your own fries. You will not want to share. You will side-eye the other person. And yes, it could absolutely start a fight over who ate more. Adrian's Smash Burger is open Monday-Friday, 10 AM-3 PM. For weekend hours, check their Instagram. Support local--and don't forget to bring cash.

Mexican food on wheels! Although this place does catering, they also have a food truck!…read more Last night I noticed a truck up the street from where I live. I then noticed it was back again this morning! I looked up the name on Instagram and found out they were serving up Mexican food! My hubby loves Mexican so we had to try it out. First off, the customer service was amazing! They talked story with us, asked tons of questions about what we wanted in each order since everything is made to order. Here's what we got: 1. Beef Nachos: we ordered the small portion but this was HUGE! It has cheese, choice of beef or chicken, onions, cilantro, & sour cream. My hubby loves nacho cheese so he loved this! There was a generous portion of beef on top too. 2. Cheese Quesadilla: this was actually a kids quesadilla but it was definitely a regular sized one! It was simple with just cheese & tortilla but, they did not skimp on the cheese. It was THICK! 3. Chicken Burrito: this was definitely the star of the show! It was HUGE! Hubby and I shared it and couldn't finish it. It was stuffed with pico, flavorful chicken, cheese, sour cream, beans & rice. It was messy but sooo good! Highly recommend! Overall, it's dangerous how often and close they are to where we live! We'll definitely be back!

HOH TALK ABOUT MAYJAHHHHH!…read more First time here but was told these Braddahs come to Ho'opili every Thursday. I was kind of skeptical from ordering, since most restaurants In Hawaii that serve Mexican food, kind of give less than what it's truly worth. So I asked the local braddah "is it a lot?" And he assured me that if I'm not satisfied he would fully refund me. So I waited..... when I was called he showed me my order- carne Asada fries, and let me tell you... it can feed more than a family of 4. I never got his name but my bro, for serving great customer service along w great food.
