Mariachi's is so ONO! On a hot day playing tourist in Kapa'a, we stopped into Mariachi's for something to drink. The restaurant looked inviting and there were open seats at the bar so we decided to see what types of tequilas they offered. Rosy immediately greeted us and was very knowledgeable about their large selection of tequilas and mezcal, including several top shelf brands. The staff immediately served us complementary housemade thin and crispy Tortilla chips while we perused the menu. My husband ordered the Pulpo Tacos which were cooked to very tender perfection. We shared the Mixed Ceviche of shrimp & fish which was fresh, flavorful and not too spicy. The Mole chicken enchiladas were mouth watering with a subtle balance of cinnamon and spices. As Maui locals, we sure wish we had Mexican food this good on our island! Next time we're on Kauai, Mariachi's will be our first stop! Mahalo nui loa, Rosy! read more

We had an amazing experience here! The food was absolutely delicious and tasted like truly authentic Mexican food. I was very impressed. Their margaritas were also amazing, and the "Make Me Happy" margarita definitely lived up to its name. The green salsa is super spicy and absolutely rocks if you like heat! The ambiance was warm and inviting, and I really enjoyed the open windows--it reminded me of restaurants in Rosarito, Mexico, which made the experience even better. The staff was so kind, attentive, and made us feel very welcome the whole time. To top it all off, the churros were incredible--honestly the best I've ever had! Overall, a great experience. Me and my family stopped by this place for a late evening dinner. Staff was nice and friendly. Wife had two cheese enchiladas, rice and beans. My son had a pina colada and al pastor burrito. I had two street tacos, shrimp and mahi mahi with refried beans and rice. Overall the food was ok. Nothing to write home about. read more

We stopped here for breakfast and it was really good. The Bloody Mary was very good and all the food we got was really good, with lots of flavor. It was right on the highway and it was fun to people watch as we ate. I had the mariachi outlet and my husband had the all meat omelet. They both had a nice sauce over it. The man who served us was not super friendly but then a woman came in and she was awesome. The place was clean and we would definitely go back if we goto Kaua'i again. read more

We stopped here for dinner and ordered fish tacos and carne asada street tacos. The fish tacos were kinda bland, no seasoning whatsoever except the sauce on top, which was ok. My husband enjoyed the street tacos. They didn't offer any more chips and salsa once our order came. Good margaritas though. read more

This restaurant was recommended to my friends and I by a local businessman. The food was so ono (delicious) and tasted authentic! The Ceviche was loaded with fresh shrimp and fish. We had the Chile verde, Super burrito, and Shrimp diablo, (large spicy and ono)! The refreshing margaritas and smoith tequila shots (gold and silver) were a perfect pairing for this delicious meal. We were staying in Princeville and came to Kapa'a to walk around and shop. We had lunch at Mariachis. It was a Friday when we came, after the lunch crowd, so the place was not crowded. We both ordered the shrimp and carne asada burrito, and I had a beer. We both enjoyed the food, and the beer was good. The servers were nice, but not that attentive. Only when we were ready to pay our bill did the server come to refill our water glasses. Still, a good experience. read more

This place is a godsend on Memorial Day weekend for tourists. Lots of storefronts, trucks and restaurants close to enjoy a family beachside BBQ. Late afternoon Sports tv, tequila and nachos were available for larger tables. The place is pretty huge and spread out with several tables-with-a-street-view. They have your basic taqueria menu: drinks, shots, chips, tacos, burritos, ceviche, rellenos, and fajitas. Service is quick with sons and daughters helping where they're capable. Chikas are serving and dropping food, Boys are bussing tables, uncle Burro is in the dishpit. Quick, and easy to find, the place probably gets noisy at night when seaside condos are full and Mom needs her margarita fix. read more

Wow!!! Great Mexican food. And we know by living at a border town in California. The Mole was complex and so good on my chicken enchiladas. The frioles, superb, rice- perfect. You can always judge great Mexican restaurants and just rice, and this was the best too! I got lucky how I found this place. Don't laugh. We were here for a week of relaxation, shopping nearby. I needed to use the facilities and saw their sign stating "no public restrooms". I get it. You have to as a business on a highway! Nice young lady said no worries and pointed to theirs. Quick service I don't like to rate low if service and a meal is great so let's go through the food. Shrimp cocktail good not a 10/10 Michelada was a 8/10 and not bad would have liked a better visual for being on vacation. "Love the open windows and lots of locals come. Torta 10/10 living in California my husband says it's the best torta he's ever had in his life! I tasted it and it was so delicious! Great beans just great. I've been to both Mariachi's on Kauai, and I have to admit, the one in Kapa'a is the better of the two. Service was strong, wait staff was friendly and accommodating, and food arrived quickly. My mom and dad both ordered enchiladas (of different types), and I ordered the street tacos. My step-dad and I both ordered tall glasses of Negra Modelo, which was refreshing on a hot day. My mom ordered the sangria, which was full of fruit, and she absolutely loved. I ordered 3 chicken and 2 al pastor street tacos. The al pastor was certainly the better of the two. The street tacos are on the small side, and the tortillas we're a little inflexible (perhaps over-cooked). Tortillas for street tacos should be soft and flexible. I question the value of the street tacos too: it's $30 for 5 smallish tacos; that seems exorbitant. You can order two much larger tacos for $16, which still seems a bit pricey, but certainly a better value. We ordered churros for dessert, and they were excellent. Authentic and yummy! read more
