I've been a patient of Dr. Smith since 1989. He continues to impress me on keeping up with new technology, advances, and open-mindedness. He's had the same office staff for more years than they want me to count. They're still as friendly as ever, and work extremely well with each other. I'd say the best of friends, but they're closer than that. More like sisters. What this means to patients is the absolute best customer service. So genuinely friendly, my wife and children consider them family. My wife and I, as well as two of our three children wear glasses. They're also very knowledgeable about insurances, types of lenses, adjustment of frames, and, while still very friendly, are always professional. As I've gotten older, my eyes started changing, with needing reading glasses. Totally 100% normal, I know now, but I was concerned, perhaps even a little perturbed, because I wasn't seeing as well as I used to. So, I cheated on Dr. Smith. I went to other eye doctorS. Even an ophthalmologist! What they all told me was that my eyes were changing of age. They gave me similar prescriptions to Dr. Smith. Most importantly, they all used the same or very similar equipment to Dr. Smith. This is how I can say without question or bias, that Dr. Smith knows his stuff, is top notch, and armed with this friendly staff, will keep my family coming back year after year for checkups, glasses, and contact lenses. read more

I have been visiting Dr. Smith for the past ten years, and I've had no complaints. He knows exactly what he's doing. Every time I go in, he has been able to see a slight difference in my vision, and how healthy my eyes are. He shows a great level of professionalism and care. If I have any questions, he is able to answer them on the spot for me, and I have no doubts that he knows exactly what he's talking about and that his answers are correct. His office staff greets me personally, by name, and they actually care to know about my life. They're the nicest office staff I have ever met, and they always have a smile on their faces! Whenever I pick out new glasses, and I'm hesitant to find a new pair, they have been able to pick out several pairs I have LOVED over the years. Even if a frame is out of stock, they will rush order ship them to the office for me. Most of the glasses I have ordered come into the office ready for me within a week or less. I'm not a contacts person, but the one time I did get contacts from this office, they provided me with all the supplies I need to take care of my eyes and my contacts. If I don't know my insurance plan coverage, the office girls have been able to tell me exactly what I can get through my insurance, and what I can't, and I have noticed that they are able to do this for many other patients as well! You can trust Dr. Smith and his staff to be there for you no matter what. They know exactly what they're doing, and they have been doing it for years! If you're looking for an experienced, friendly, and professional optometrist's office, this is definitely the place to go. Give them a call, you won't be disappointed! read more

Horrible customer service! I am so disgusted with the way they treat their customers! Absolutely inexcusable. The place is dirty and the staff is rude! I had an appointment which was paid for by my insurance January 2014, My insurance will not pay for another exam until January 2015 which I completely understand the reasoning behind that. So....this eye doctor will not honor a free trial pair of Air Optic contacts unless i pay out of pocket $130 for another exam! I had to pay $50 for the "contacts prescription" which is highway robbery (I mean c''mon, $50 to write down on a prescription pad which took all of 30 seconds!!! So, I actually will have to pay $180. Note: my prescription is valid until January 2105, but because I neglected to bring in this free trial coupon thing at the time of my appointment, they will not honor it! I've called other eye doctors and they all have told me that that is definitely wrong and is not the way THEY would treat their customers! I mean I have a valid prescription so whats the problem??!! I am so ticked off, you just don't treat your customers like this!!!! Not to mention that the "free trial" doesn't cost the eye doctor a dime. You should be ashamed of yourself and I have one more word for you: KARMA read more

This place is incredible. They are a well oiled machine and know what they are doing. The front office staff is very nice, and knowledgeable. I have been to this location a half dozen times and I'm always in and out. Today my appointment was at 10 and I was out by 10:17. That's amazing. Dr. Smith is very thorough and easy to deal with. He welcomes questions and is also very knowledgeable about what he does. I don't see why I'd ever go anywhere else, since this office is 5 stars +!! read more

My wife and daughter went here, the glasses the gave my daughter were oversized and the bent them like crazy to make them fit. When we picked the style out I thought they were going to give her the appropriate size. My wife got her prescription for contacts at same time and he change her lens types which she has always had to have special lenses and the lenses are too big, she went back and the dr. laughed at her and said she wasn't wearing them right(she's been wearing contacts for 20 years) and refused to remeasure her eyes. We have been going to Dr. Smith for 4 years now, and every year the experience gets worse. His very dry personality was always a little off-putting, but he takes our insurance, and is close to home, so we go back once a year. His office staff does not return phone calls, and his vm states that they will be closed July 4th, but we are in October!!! The receptionist is rude, talks over you, acts disinterested, and comes across and mean. The office decor has probably not been updated for about 20 years, but that is minor. read more

I seen Dr. Smith for a scratch cornoa. When I called I was able to get a same day appointment. Arriving at the office the front ladies were welcoming and nice. I was put in the back room and the nurse kept the room dark for me. Dr. Smith was professional and had excellent bedside manners. He assessed my eye, confirmed it was a scratch corona. He provided appropriate measures to help my eye heal. He scheduled a follow-up for the next day and because the scratch was still significant, scheduled another follow-up for the day after. Each time I went in the front ladies asked me how my eye was doing. I never waited longer than 5min to see the doctor. When I went in on Monday I couldn't open my left eye. Tuesday there was some pain but feeling better. Wednesday he removed the piece to help my eye heal and my eye feels so much better. He told me if I have any other problems to call back. My experience with Dr. Smith is not the usual experience I have with Las Vegas doctors. I felt that he cared about healing my eye and provided great follow-up services. I currently do not wear glasses or contacts but have told my family and friends about him and his staff. read more

His site paints a very different picture. The atmosphere needs serious updating as does the equipment. I've never been given an eye patch to wear durring parts of an exam before. I have been wearing contacts for 17 years and this was not a good contact fitting. First off he didn't even ask me if I would like to take put in or take out the contacts myself, he just came at me and did it himself - which is very uncomfortable considering I am a pro at doing this myself as well as he has very long nails. I don't know when the last time he washed his hands was.... all in all not comfortable in the least. Secondly I knew right away this new pair of lenses he tried was not fitting in the left eye but he said it was because my eyes were dry, and then because my eyelids were swollen - no this was because the lens did not fit. Dr Smith has The Most Amazing office staff ever!! Just popped in today for about the 10,000th time for them to fix my glasses as I (what a surprise...!) fell asleep w/them on & tweaked them...no problem, a few minutes later & my glasses are like brand new! They greet everyone by name & make you feel recognized & like they really care about you. My family & I have been going to Dr Smith since 1993 & as long as he has the same office staff(which he has basically had all this time, amazingly enough!), we will continue to go to him forever. I cannot stress enough the importance of his office staff & the role that they play. They are your 1st impression of his place & the warmth w/one is greeted puts one @ ease. They are also the last impression of his place & w/ all the help & assistance they give you in helping you w/your insurance, your benefits & what you are eligible for, what glasses look good on you & will fit your face ,etc.....you leave feeling good about your visit, your choice of glasses & choice of optometrists! Initially, the office staff and Dr. Smith were very professional. I went in to have mine and my daughter's eyes fitted for new glasses. I also ordered a tint (for which I paid extra) on both pair. I was told that it would take 7-10 business days to complete this request. They said that they would contact me when our glasses came in. I waited beyond the 14 business days and I decided to call them. I was told that my glasses were there but my daughter's were not. I asked why I hadn't received a call and I was told that my glasses had just arrived on that days shipment. They said they'd give me a call when hers arrived. I waited another week without a call from them. I call them. Her glasses had finally arrived. I go in to pick up both pair but my daughter was not with me. I'm set to try on my glasses and I immediately notice that they haven't been tinted. So I checked my daughter's pair and her tint was the wrong color. I was told that this could be corrected in less than 48 hours and they would give me a call when our glasses are ready. It's been a week and still no call. While all of this waiting was taking place I ordered a spare pair, including tint, for us both from another company and both pairs of glasses took less than a week and the other company called when our glasses were ready. read more
