Change is constant, right? My insurance provider decided to…read morechange from VSP to EyeMed which meant I needed to find a new provider. I had cataract surgery last March which corrected my distance vision. The downside is that I now require readers. In addition, for my part-time job, I work on a computer in a public place so I need bi-focals. Unfortunately, I lost one of the lenses and the frames are damaged. It took 2 weeks to get an appointment. I was there early for my time. I filled out some paperwork and was ready to go when Dr Brook Vastis called me in. We talked about my transition to her practice and my vision needs. Mainly to get an exam to provide to my PCP, replacement bi-focal lenses and frames. The office environment is professional and functional. The Reception process was smooth and easy. While I was waiting I noticed there were two ladies that were talking to patients about their frame selections. They have a lot of premium choices, Maui Jim, Lilly Pulitzer, State Optical, Barton Perreira, Lafont of Paris,Ernia O of Barcelona, Silhouette, Ovo Optics, Modo, Morel and Kate Spade to name a few. I met with a lady named Jessie to talk about selecting frames and lenses and completing my order. She was very professional, friendly and helpful. I was pleased my insurance covered a large percentage of the overall costs. While changing medical providers can sometimes be anxious and stressful, this was not one of them.

I called back again this morning and the lady I spoke with was very rude and said we haven't completed it yet I asked when it would be completed since I was told I would receive a call back this morning and she replied "sometime today" and hung up. I called right back and told her to not even worry about it. I thought this would be an awesome place to go being as though they have 5 stars but I guess not I don't even want to be bothered with them!

Let me preface my review with a little background. I have been wearing eye glasses since I was 3…read moreyears old, and I am now 65. So this review comes after a lifetime of experience with eye professionals and opticians. I have never been so satisfied with an eye doctor, optician, or office. First, the professionalism, depth of care, and individual attention are unsurpassed. Dr. Foust spends a great deal of time making absolutely certain about the health of the eyes and about the corrective prescription. If you like learning more about your eyes, their care, and the science behind the procedures, this is where you want to be. I learned more about my eyes, about undiscovered issues, and about the eye care profession in one visit than I learned in all my previous visits combined. This past weekend I had a fall and started having some retinal issues with one eye. Once I checked out the symptoms and found I needed to have a doctor look at my eye, I called Dr. Foust's office, and they got me in extremely quickly. Dr. Foust conducted a thorough exam, explained my symptoms, gave me instructions for care, and helped me understand what to look for in case my symptoms worsened. Again, he also provided a wealth of background and scientific information to help me understand more deeply. It doesn't hurt that he is friendly, welcoming, and patient. The optician, Robert McBee, is just as amazing! I have a wide head, and searching for frames is always stressful and frustrating. Robert took one look at me, picked out 4 frames that were lovely and fit my head comfortably. That's how well he knows his stock and his clients. He also does all the jobs of an optical shop - no assistants that might make errors or sell you the wrong frame. He fit the frame and lenses to my prescription carefully before he ordered the glasses. His philosophy is that when you pick up your glasses, they should perfectly fit your face and eyes without adjustment - and they did! His knowledge of lens technology is amazing, and I left the appointment with a great deal of information. I will continue to use this business for the rest of my life!

As a patient she not only treats YOU, she CARES for YOU as a (human being) person. The staff is fulll of All-Stars as well. The staff was busy, as many medical practices are, but I was never greeted or asked what brought me in, what concerns I was having. The technician never made eye contact (which is ironic, given she does eye exams), or showed any interest in learning why I was there. The doctor was in a hurry and spent maybe five minutes with me, and was so impersonal I feel certain if I passed him in the grocery store he'd have no memory of ever seeing me before. But worst of all, he left out a key measurement on my prescription, and it took multiple phone calls from myself and my optician to get a corrected one. My phone calls and the optician's calls were never returned. Eventually, after a week, I had to return to the office and ask for a correct one, only to be confronted with the most surly employee I have ever dealt with, who very begrudgingly printed out the corrected prescription.

Here's my…read moreupdated and response: Rebuttal to Dr. Dutson: Dr. Dutson, I am absolutely a former patient of your practice, and I stand by every word of my review. It's disappointing to see you respond not by addressing the concerns I raised, but by questioning whether I was ever a patient at all. That's not only false--it's a deflection from the real issue: I paid for new designer frames and was given used/demo ones from your display wall. I wasn't even provided the proper designer case they normally come with, just a generic one that didn't fit properly. That is not acceptable, and it certainly isn't ethical. You claim to have searched your patient database but couldn't verify me--yet somehow you sent me a private message on Yelp with direct contact info. That doesn't align. You also claim I would have responded if I were a real patient. I did not respond because I already attempted to contact your office directly before ever posting a review, and I was ignored. Only after leaving honest public feedback did I receive any acknowledgment. This pattern of dismissing concerns and redirecting the narrative is exactly what motivated me to leave a review. My intent was not to harm your business, but to protect future patients from the experience I had. That is the purpose of reviews. I hope you will take accountability rather than attempting to discredit dissatisfied patients. Charlotte.

Long review but I have a lot to say! You can have a fabulous doctor but if your staff is terrible…read morethat is a deal breaker. I went to Dr. Scott for six years. I put up with their nonsense far too long. I really like him but as others have said the whole staff is incompetent. I waited seven weeks for contacts that they said would be in in five days. Every week I called and I was told I would get a call back but never did. When they finally came in they said I need an appointment to get them fitted. The appointment she gave me wasn't going to be for another 10 business days. I said that was not going to work. I need to come sooner than that. I have been waiting 7 weeks. The woman instantly got nasty and said "sir, you don't tell me when you are coming in. I tell you!" Then she hung up on me. I was livid. I call back right away and explain the situation to the person who answered and that I was hung up on. I am put on hold and lo and behold when she returned to the phone they had a spot open the next day. While being seen by the doctor I told him exactly what my experience was with his staff. I wasn't ugly at all because I do like him. He stated "thank you for telling me. We're going to have to make some changes." Those changes never happened. Obviously, because the same bad reviews go back 10 years. After being seen with the new contacts in he told me to come back if they're not right. I ended up keeping $800 contacts that I knew I needed adjusted but I decided I'd rather keep bad contacts than have to go through that again. I have struggled with these contacts for over a year. I shouldn't have to replace them for several years. I desperately need them replaced now but my insurance is making me wait another four months past the year mark of when I was seen because that office didn't have their act together and didn't send out the bill for four months after the fact. The insurance is using that date to decide when I can get new ones. The doctor has been told about the situation with his staff and surely he has read the other reviews. He chooses not to do anything so this is on him. I will be going to a new doctor as soon as the insurance allows. Getting my glasses was another nightmare. I had similar experiences as the other reviewers. This isn't the only bad experience I've had there. It is just the most infuriating.
