The BEST OFFICE EVER! The staff, Dr. Lee, the chairs, the magazines... I had an awful experience as a child and avoided the dentist. One of my wisdom teeth started to come in a few years ago and I was in a lot of pain. So, I had to go to a dentist and I spoke with numerous different people who all had Dr. Lee in common. I sucked it up and decided to go in. I was extremely happy. Not only did he do an amazing cleaning, he explained to me in detail the options I had and what his opinion was on the matter. I went to a few oral surgeons after. One of them asked me who my dentist was, when I told him Dr. Lee, he stated, "he's not going to lie to you and I'm not going to take your wisdom quite yet." With the way doctors and money are today, I was incredibly impressed. I moved to New York a while back and hadn't seen Dr. Lee in two years. When I called, the receptionist warmly remembered me and asked how everything was going. It was nice to be remembered, because I remembered them so fondly. Do not fall for the raving reviews as we did. 3rd world looking office with outdated equipment. Does not look clean. What worse was the cold and uncaring staff and esp, old dentist. We took our 9 year-old for a cleaning and they pushed for panoramic x-ray, "Your insurance covers it." Afterwards, they wanted to take another set of x-rays because panoramic does not show cavities. I also found out later that panoramic x-ray is used for orthodontics treatment, not regular cleaning and checkup. The dentist did the cleaning himself. Didn't say boo to us, and did a mediocre job cleaning her teeth. Maybe a real hygienist costs too much, maybe he's too old, maybe he's tired of working. Who knows. I agree with another reviewer, this office does know how to maximize your insurance benefits. read more

I have the worst teeth ever and I really have to thank Dr. Lee for working on my teeth! He's been my dentist ever since I was little kid and I don't think I'll ever switch. His office is conveniently located right the 405 on Brookhurst near the Prehistoric Pets / reptile store. Easy to get to and there is always parking right in front of his office. I have seen Dr. Lee twice because of an emergency (first time was because a filling came loose from another dentist and the second time was because of an inflamed gum pocket) and both times his office was able to fit me in on such short notice. My wife had been raving about Dr. Lee and referred me to him. He definitely lived up to his reputation. He took an extensive time to explain to me the problems that I had and was extremely clear in exploring different options for me. He was patient, kind, and also funny! Dr. Lee is unlike other dentists I've had who have tried to rip me off by making go through this procedure and that procedure without ever explaining to me why or giving me options. Dr. Brian Lee is hands down the absolute best dentist I have ever had the pleasure of going to. He is very kind, patient, and extremely meticulous in all that he does. Not once did I ever feel uncomfortable or feel like I was forced into doing any additional procedures. I have been here on a few occasions for various appointments- some for absolute necessary treatments (enter fillers)- and others for pure vanity (que the whitening). I recently tried the Philips Zoom whitening treatment, in hopes of reaching shades only achievable by photoshop, or Google's background. Crest strips can move to the side, as they come nowhere close to the level of brightening this treatment does! This treatment was unquestionably and undoubtedly worth it. So, if you are on the quest to obtain whiter choppers, or simply just looking to get your teeth cleaned. This is certainly the place to go. Took my mom to see Dr. Brian Lee for a second opinion about a fractured tooth. The previous dentist recommended a root canal and a crown, but I wanted to see if there were other options. Dr. Brian Lee was very kind, thorough, and detailed with his explanations and options for treatment. Furthermore, after the treatment, my mom told me that he was very gentle and she could hardly feel a thing during the treatment. My mom ended up avoiding getting a root canal and the crown. We were able to treat conservatively by bonding the fractured tooth back together. So far, no problems have occurred and the tooth is good as new! I am so glad we were able to have this option which ended up being a fraction of the cost at another office. I give Dr. Brian Lee a hundred stars! This guy got skills. I went to him after I had avoided going to a dentist for 4 years because I'm prone to cavities, I knew I needed fillings, and I'm a wuss when it comes to shots. So I went to Dr. Lee for a checkup and he said I needed 4 fillings. Here come the shots I thought. I thought wrong. Although my cavities were deep in the tooth, he said "We'll see if I can drill without the shots. Raise your hand if it gets painful and then we'll use the shots." I prepared to raise my hand before he even put the drill in his hand, but I took a look at the USC diploma on the wall, figured this guy didn't mess around in college with a tuition that high, and shut my eyes closed. The first filling went in no problem, the second was easier than the first and then it just got easier for him as he moved to the third and fourth tooth. The thirty minutes went by in what felt like 10 minutes. Not one shot was needed. His hands ARE that nimble as the previous reviewer stated. I left the office with 4 new fillings, no shots and no pain. MAD SKILLS. I hated going to the dentist before I started going to Dr. Lee's. Now I go to Dr. Lee's every 6 months and my teeth have never been better. I highly recommend him. read more

I'm honestly the biggest baby when it comes to any dental work. I avoid the dentist for as long as I can. Recently I had visited another dental office because of my insurance network. They gave me an estimate for a deep cleaning and a bunch of additional extra add ons that totaled up 800 dollars! I decided to do my research and stumbled upon this dental office. Vi and Dr. Brian were amazing, they looked at my teeth and told me I did not need all that extra work at all! Instead I got a normal cleaning and the price was something I was extremely comfortable with and grateful for! They each sat down and walked me through the procedure and showed me each tool they were using and explain the purpose for it. It was such a relief because I felt like they truly cared! Dr. Lee senior and his son, Dr. Lee junior are super gentle. Although the office looks old, their equipment and service is up to par. I had my crown done here and I am terrified of shots and needles. Knowing this, Dr. Lee junior was super gentle. When he was done, I asked him if I was getting the numbing shot but he told me we were done. I was so happy and surprised with how gentle he was.. I didn't feel anything! I've heard from other people that Dr. Lee junior is super detailed oriented and his work is flawless. Now I can add that he is also super gentle. From these raving reviews, must have been Lee's evil twin that I got. If you're skeptical about my generous 1 star review, make an appointment and see for yourself. The office is old and small. Not only that the doctor himself and his staff are unfriendly, they are cold and just want to rush you in and out since the doctor is too cheap or does not have enough patients to hire a hygienist so he does everything himself. They charged me a separate exam fee because I opened my mouth for cleaning, even though I specifically made an appointment "FOR JUST CLEANING". They also pushed to have panoramic x-ray taken which they assured me, "Don't worry, your insurance will pay for it." Guess he needs his patients to chip in for this dandy piece of equipment. I also found out afterward that the panoramic x-ray does not show cavities so KA-CHING, another set of x-rays. If you have good insurance and can afford a good dentist,... RUN! This office knows how to maximize your benefits for their fat wallet. read more

I found Dr. Heng Tseng Lee via Yelp. I delayed going even though I knew it was a bad idea. Having never gone to any doctor office without an actual recommendation from some I knew and trusted, I went ahead and took a leap of faith. I am glad I did. My visit was unplanned, I stop by unannounced the one morning before class to see if they could check me out, which they did. I paid $50 for "emergency visit." They took one x-ray and the doctor came in and provided me with my options and the front office took care of the financial aspect. They do not take HMO, only PPO and CASH. I went the cash route. Being a cash patient, they offered me a small discount, which is an incentive to stay with the office and get the work done. A win-win situation if you ask me. Hey get the business and I get the necessary work done for cheaper. For being a cash patient, the office also offered me a 6 month interest free payment plan. As long as I paid my account within 6 months, I was not charged interest in on my balance. Once I decided to go ahead with the procedure, the office manager asked me how much I wanted to pay each month. If you pay off your account balance sooner, there is NO penalty. If you can pay more than go ahead, if not keep with the plan or they will charge you interest for breaking the contract. Before I left, I was told that if I decided to get the procedure done, the $50 I paid for that day would go towards my overall balance, aka $50 prepaid credit. My first visit was at the beginning of the year, January. I guess the dental assistant working the front office wrote down the wrong yea. This perfectly makes sense to me everyone is transitioning from one year to the next and we forget, it happens. Anyways, a few months later when I FINALLY decided to get work done and I made an appointment. Making an appointment is easy because they are always there on time. Do not call during their lunch hours because they do not have someone on hand to answer the phone like some other fancier offices. On the day of my appointment, I came in a bit nervous but ready, I went over the plan and finances with them and reminded them of the $50 prepaid amount. I was told I would only get $25 since a "YEAR" has passed but it was only a few months. I know this for a fact because I remember heading to class afterwards and that class was during a specific time and year. I didn't argue for the remaining $25 because these are the people who will be going into my mouth and there are just some people you do not want to offend. So I dismissed it but the office manager had a slick comment which I did not like. Overall the dentist did a good job and no side effects or complaints here. He is patient and willing to answer all of your questions to aid you in better understanding what he is planning to do. He is funny to, he tries to crack jokes that are sometimes not funny but you just laugh because he is so adorable. A few months later, I had to call into the office because I never received my billing statement, I guess they sent out a bill to the wrong person, wrong address and AGE!!! The corrected the matter and that was it. With the billing though, if you write them a check and your check address is different from the on record expect a call from them, EVEN IF you write down your account number on the check for them. read more

I went to Dr. Lee today for the first time. His assistants took x-rays and he explained to me the potential problems I may encounter based on my previous dentists' work. The one thing I liked about him was that he did not pressure me into getting something fixed because it was unnecessary. He did what I came in there for and that was my routine check up and cleaning and I was in and out in 35 minutes. They take the time to explain the reasoning behind their actions which makes the process less frightening, instead of just gouging around in your mouth.
