Dr. Parrett is a such a chill surgeon! My primary care physician referred me to him in October of 2024 for treatment of painful Lipedema in my upper arms. He got straight to the point, the plan was a brachioplasty and a pannulectomy, as I have a lot of back pain from the pannus hanging and pulling on my back. While I manage the skin will, the herniated disk pain is exacerbated by the skin. Unfortunately, insurance denied that procedure, and we will try for that another time. On October 24, 2024 Dr. Parrett performed a bilateral brachioplasty on me at Novato Community Hospital Same Day Surgery Center. It hasn't been 24 hours yet, but I want to get this review out there. Everything went well, I'm home and resting. I get up and walk every 2 hours and will tell you all, be sure to have caregivers because you'll need help with all of your personal hygiene, including using the restroom and eating. No seromas, no infections, no clots, nada with either. All healed beautifully and I followed Brian's instructions to a T. I am grateful to have such a talented man work on me. I recently had a breast reduction with Dr. Parrett and cannot recommend him enough. I was suffering from debilitating back and neck pain as well as body dysmorphia. Dr. Parrett was transparent about the limitations of surgery and did not make promises he couldn't keep. I appreciated his honesty and humility during the consultation process. I requested an additional appointment before surgery to review the plan and he made time to meet with me on a Saturday, which I really appreciated. I just had a DIEP (2 weeks ago) with Dr Parrett. I had insane breast implant illness... swollen hands and feet. Kidney and liver function issues. Lymph nodes swelling up and after cancer that's scary every time they biopsy them. My hands are now back to normal and my body is healing on many levels. DIEP is a major major surgery so expect to be out for a bit. But it's worth it. I have my own tissue and Dr Parrett did a fantastic job fixing me. He has always answered my questions in MyChart or via text within an hour. He came and checked on me every morning in the hospital to see how I was recovering. Oh my gosh.... I have had the BEST experience with Dr. Parrett!!! I had breast cancer in 2024 and was part way through my series of reconstruction surgeries with another Plastic Surgeon. The other Plastic Surgeon (Dr. Hackert) ended up 'firing' me the day before my final surgery because I had an opinion about what I wanted my reconstructed breasts to look like and because I did my research and asked questions. Being fired by someone who was supposed to be making me whole was extremely upsetting.... I'd say even scarring. However, I now thank my lucky stars she did fire me and that someone recommended me to Dr. Parrett. He has been INCREDIBLE!!!! His amazing service started when he offered me a next-day video consult when he learned of my situation. From there, I would give him an A+++ for being so awesome.... from my video consult, to my pre-op appointment, to my surgery - I simply couldn't have asked for a better experience. I've now had two surgeries with Dr. Parrett as he comes highly recommended in the medical community. The first surgery was in 2020 for a muscle biopsy in my bicep that was coordinated with my neurologist. The second was in May 2022 for a capsulectomy and lift. I have been meaning to write this review for 1 1/2 years now. Everytime I get out of the shower I look at my new breasts and am amazed at how beautiful they are. Everyday when I look in the mirror, I send a little silent thanks to Dr. Parrett and his caring staff. When I received my cancer diagnosis I was completely overwhelmed. My surgeon recommended Dr. Parrett saying she would use him if she were in my situation. I opted to do a DIEP flap and didn't realize how difficult the surgery recovery would be. Every step of the way Dr. Parrett, Faith and Maggie were there for me. If I had a concern I was actually able to text Dr. Parrett and have an immediate response. At no time did I feel that I was rushed or requiring too much attention. Don't get me wrong a DIEP flap is nothing to take lightly but I am much happier having my own flesh instead of implants. Also there is the added benefit of a tummy tuck. After 1 1/2 years I still have a flat stomach and my breasts have no visible scars. They are perky to boot! Needed plastic surgery after a Mohs surgery removed a quarter-sized chunk of basal cell carcinoma on my nose (at the age of 30). I came to Dr. Parrett after my original doctor dismissed my symptoms following. a surgery. I had a mastectomy and reconstruction with silicone implants placed after the tissue expanders. With the silicone implants, I went through nearly two years of chronic inflammation and feeling very ill. The official term is Breast Implant Illness (BII) and there are many women who have bad reactions to saline and/or silicone (as people have bad reactions to things all of the time, it makes sense this could happen to something being placed in the body at least to a percentage of patients). This wasn't disclosed to me by my original doctor so it was a long journey of internists and acupuncturists to connect the issues of chronic inflammation and many bacteria infections to the implants. My original doctor (Dr. H) was unprofessional when the connection was finally made that the silicone was making me sick. My quality of life was pretty low and she completely dismissed my symptoms and said BII was made up. I then turned to Dr. Parrett who qualified my concerns and said it's very possible the silicone was causing it. He said he helps women complaining of BII frequently and many feel better after an saline exchange or explant. After a consult. we decided to do a saline exchange. He jumped through hoops to get the surgery approved as an essential surgery during Covid closures bc the inflammation was chronic and affecting my daily life. He took my complaints seriously even during a trying time for the medical field. I am not exaggerating when I say that within a week of having the silicone removed for the saline implants --- that I felt great again and haven't had the inflammation come back since (it's been 6 amazing and healthy months!). My turnaround has been remarkable. He put me on a strong antibiotic and perhaps that helped, as well. He even put me in touch with a specialist who clears up bacteria found on prothesis to address the lab results from the exhange. This was the correct, professional thing to do. I understand you are probably thinking only of aesthetics with looking for a plastic surgeon but when something goes wrong, you need someone who is empathic, smart and experienced. With Dr. Parrett you get all of this -- great aesthetics (he even made them lift more and i couldn't be happier) plus quality after care. I found there was no compromise with Dr Parrett and just had my best season on a bike in three years. read more

There are over 100 different BII symptoms. The FDA just said implants cause certain cancers. I received explant total enbloc with capsulectomy along with an anchor lift. Dr. Parrett is AMAZING! About a decade ago, I had a preventative mastectomy and reconstruction with implants and fat grafting with another surgeon. 9 years later, I discovered that one of my silicone implants had ruptured slightly. Dr. Parrett replaced my implants with new (better) ones, and also moved my pec muscles back to their original position, placing the implants above the pecs this time using ADM. He did a GREAT job! The new implant placement is SO MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE and I feel much stronger. The new reconstruction also looks fabulous! I highly recommend Dr. Parrett for all of your boobie needs! read more

He butchered me. He knew I was moving, so he didn't address any of the deformities that he gave me. I really didn't understand what was going on. He gave me a D on one side and a B on the other side. I couldn't understand what this man had done to me, because there was so much swelling for such a long period of time. Once the swelling went down, and I could determine there was a huge size difference, I asked him why my breasts weren't the same size. He responded by asking me, how did that happen? Well, my question is why didn't you tell me you were going to fix my body that you knew you had botched and butchered. He knew what he had done and so did his entire team. They remained silent. Also, one of the incisions opened up. His nurse, Faith, said that all incisions look like that. My visiting nurse insisted that the incision be addressed immediately. I was on a wound vac for months. If it wasn't for my visiting nurse, I am not sure if I would be alive today. I also found out recently he gave me a hernia. When I questioned him about my mutilated midsection, he repeatedly said those muscles will atrophy in 16 months. It turns out, it is a hernia. And even after my allowing him to fix the botched sizes, he still couldn't get that right. When he removed the bandages from the size revision, he exclaimed "Perfect!". Well, no. They are far from perfect. The man does not possess the skills to perform such intricate, complicated surgery. On top of this, he doesn't care. He is grossly incompetent and arrogant and his team - with that nurse of his - are dangerous. I probably should be thankful I am alive today. I know I would rather have dealt with the cancer than with this individual. Think twice before you go under the knife with this man. He is dangerous from my horrifically painful experience. From the other 1-star review posted, it seems that Dr. Brian Parrett is having the negative reviews removed. If you are reading this, please look at all the reviews on other sites. If my review gets removed, I will continue posting my experience, so the public knows the truth about this man. I don't want anyone going through what I went through and what I am still going through. UPDATE: What I find extremely frightening is I see a recurring theme (history) of this man botching reconstruction surgery and wounds reopening. My responsibility was to inform the public about my experience immediately, and I regret failing to do so. If you are reading this review, please beware of this surgeon. And Jeremiah, please stop sugarcoating the facts and actually having the nerve to indicate some things are out of the surgeon's control. I would beg to differ that it was out of the surgeon's control to transfer tissue to reconstruct a D breast versus a B breast and then asking the patient "How did that happen?". I would beg to differ that a wound reopening and the nurse carelessly indicating that "they all look like that" is out of their control. I would beg to differ that mutilating a patient's midsection and saying, "Oh, those muscles with atrophy in 16 months." is out of the surgeon's control. It is downright negligence. Furthermore, I am not concerned about any of the 5-star reviews. I know my TRUTH and it appears other women have similar truths. And I would question if any of the positive reviews are valid to begin with; I speculate that if they are valid, the surgery was simple and straightforward to perform. Hand surgery and sticking an implant into a patient's chest is much different than full reconstruction surgery transferring a patient's tissue. Dr. Parrett immediate DIEP breast reconstruction the same day I had a double mastectomy. He also did a never graft. And we did a lift and reduction before to maximize the cosmetic result. I'm a year out, and had a couple small revisions. They look great and I have most of the normal feeling! But equally important, Dr. Parrett was amazing. He was present, available, and kind the whole way through --- in addition to being competent. He was there shortly after I woke up after recovery. He gave me his cell if I needed anything while he was away. He checked in with such focus and diligence each day I was in the hospital. And was super available after.
