While on the jobsite, Marty and his foreman pointed out I had a couple large, unsafe tree on my property (hollow) and encouraged me to take them down for the safety of my house. This would have been completely unnoticed as I do not have a trained eye for these types of things. Thankfully Marty and his team came back and removed the trees (please see photos). I can't say enough about how pleased we are with the outcome, and wonder what would have happened if Marty and his team had not pointed this out to me in time. I recently requested a free estimate for a property in East Quogue which required extensive tree…read morework. There were several dead and dying trees, and the remaining trees on the property hadn't been trimmed back for a good 20 years. They were overgrown. Every tree on the property needed work: either removal or extensive pruning (20+ trees). These are tall, mature white oak, pine, and maple trees. I called several tree removal companies for estimates. Santos Hernandez not only promptly called me back within an hour, he scheduled the in person estimate appointment quickly. He gave an extremely fair and competitive quote for the job after meeting me at the property and seeing the scope of work. He promptly emailed the written estimate and certificates of insurance (liability and workers comp) for review after our meeting. He was courteous, knowledgeable and professional, and I immediately felt comfortable. (I can't say that for other companies that I felt were subtly trying to manipulate me). We accepted the quote and the job was scheduled very quickly. The 4 man crew showed up early (by 7:40 am) on the day of service and promptly started at 8 am. They were polite and extremely hard working. They worked the entire day until almost 4 pm and it was a flurry of chain saws, bucket trucks, and stump grinders- a HUGE job. They raked and cleaned up everything. They all were wonderful. You can tell they are experienced in what they do. They removed all the heavy branches overhanging the house. They checked with me as to where they could move a bucket truck during the work. They had to drive onto the lawn at points to be able to get to all the trees (which of course I didn't mind). I appreciated being asked. In summary, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this company! Experienced, knowledgeable, efficient and they offer extremely fair prices! We were initially given the impression that the cost would be around $99, but after work started, the price changed dramatically and eventually became well over $1000 and more with additional charges. We were also charged several hundred dollars for cleanup service, which made the final cost much higher than expected. ...... we did not want to argue or create conflict, so we paid and moved on. However ,the overall experience left us very disappointed. Please make sure pricing, cleanup charges, and total costs are clearly confirmed before work begins.this was something we learned from this experience.
