The city of Raleigh refuses to check their water meter or replace it without an invoice from a plumber. Our water bill was higher than usual the last few months. I did a toilet leak test and found no leaks. Nothing else on the property showed a leak. I called the water department and they were less than helpful. Despite our bill going DOWN after turning ON our sprinkler system, they insisted there was a leak. Matthew's Plumbing sent two guys out who listened to the story, checked the meter as I did, checked the crawl space (no leaks) and listened to me complain about the water department. I was expecting to pay $200+, instead they only charged me $75. These people are honest. I was upset enough that I would have paid the $200 or more had they asked me to do so. Today's visit is why I'll keep doing business with them.

No people on call, no answers, or answers of 2pm or next day appointments. (Gotta love that!) We finally found Michael at Big Dawg's and he was able to come to us swiftly. He arrived within the window of time promised. Michael quickly and expertly assessed the situation, diagnosed the problems, and proceeded to share the plan. He had all the parts with him on his truck and had the busted toilet fill valve along with a new shut off valve replaced and working within an hour or so. Michael also took the time to educate us on what was happening, why, and other repairs needed to prevent further damage. Big Dawg's plumbing is efficient, professional, reliable, and comes with my highest recommendation. Unfortunately, we had very terrible experience with this business . Owners hired us to do cabinet…read morework on one of they projects , this was the first and last time when we agreed to work with them. Let's start that owner have no idea about remodeling process and everything what involve that . They made a deposit for materials, and after cabinets was installed they start coming up with all kinds of excuses just do not make a payment. But apparently they were posting the pictures of the job stating it's "completed" . After weeks of waiting for payment we informed them that we are putting lean on the property and taking them to court for non payment , mean time we got in touch with home owner and informed them about entire situation. Apparently, and we were not surprised, home owner had no idea that there is any "issue" with the work and they confirmed that project was completed long time ago and they paid everything for a project. And at the end they blocked us everywhere. For future clients- think 10 times before hiring them ,because you may ended up with lien on your property.
