I'm really impressed with Greene Hunt and would absolutely recommend them for any job. We had a pretty big job and needed our entire house two story home repiped, a new water heater, and new toilets installed. We had a few people come out and decided to go with Greene Hunt because of the care Archie took when he first came out and how easy it was to communicate with him. We had a pretty big crew out for two days doing the repiping and stuff and they were all great. Like I said, it was a big job, but they were respectful of our property, efficient, friendly, neat, and did quality work. I felt comfortable enough with the crew that I left them alone at the house for a few hours while I ran errands. Really glad I went with Greene Hunt. They did fantastic work, finished on time, and Archie and the crew at our house were all fantastic. read more

Hire this company only if you'd like to become a plumber in the process. My kitchen sink leaked. They couldn't find the source. I repeatedly suggested that it might be the faucet. They "ran tests" but couldn't diagnose the issue. They did manage to turn off my hot water in the process. After going back and forth with the owner by text (where he kept asking me to send photos and videos- and asking if I thought it was this clamp or that ring that might be the issue- dude, I don't know. I'm not a plumber. That's why I hired you) I gave up and called another plumber who...wait for it....replaced the leaky faucet. For a fraction of what Greene charged me to "diagnose" the issue. Their billing dept is MUCH more diligent than their repair crew- I'm giving up and paying them in the hopes of just never having to deal with them again. read more

I can't comment on their plumbing. I do know they can't drive. One of their trucks turned left across traffic and I had to slam on brakes to avoid an accident. I guess the driver is not smart enough to realize when he does something like that in a company truck the name and phone number is plastered on the side of the truck. his action is a reflection and advertisement of the company. No I would not hire them under any circumstance. read more

Archie was a amazing plumber. I explained what was going on and because he had worked on the house before, he knew right what to do. I have had other plumbers do things half assed (not caulk a new fixture, not replace wall the parts inside a toilet even though the parts cost less than $8!). James and Archie do a superior job. I had several items that needed to be addressed all of which were not only acknowledged in advance but also I felt like they listened. You know when you talk to a technician and you get the impression that they are thinking "yeah, yeah.yeah...you don't know anything"? Well, I got none of that from them. Archie came early the next morning, and, with my prior description of what I thought needed to be done he not only had the equipment ready in advance but also had a second person with him so the work would be completed sooner. They were patient with all my questions, they explained everything very well and did not leave a mess behind like I have seen on other service calls. We used Greene Hunt for some plumbing work last week, and it was easily the worst customer service experience I have ever had. Please don't ever use them. I would give zero stars if possible. We needed to have a defunct garbage disposal removed and a basket strainer installed in our kitchen sink. After noting right off the bat that a deep strainer would be necessary since the basin of our sink is thicker than the standard, the technician told me the whole job would cost $187. Once the job was completed, however, I instead received an invoice for $320. This new price didn't make sense to me because (1) it was not what we had agreed to and (2) a total of $320 for this job would have amounted to almost $200/hour for labor, and the average labor charge for plumbers is about $85/hour. After contacting the company to correct what I thought was an honest mistake, the technician proceeded to misrepresent our initial agreement and then flat out lied to me, claiming he didn't know upfront that a deep strainer would be needed. When confronting him for lying, he became extremely angry and hung up the phone on me after running out of excuses. I subsequently made an attempt to hash things out with the owner, who surprisingly insisted on backing up his technician's lie, claiming that I had misunderstood the initial pricing agreement and asserting that I was being unreasonable for not agreeing to the arbitrary price inflation. I've had my fair share of customer service mishaps, but never have I been treated with such rudeness or indignation, especially by the owner of a company. Bottom line: I strongly urge you to look elsewhere for your plumbing needs. ----------addendum to respond to owner's comment---------- Funny how it took a public negative review to get my first apology from Greene Hunt. Actually, the technician was quite clear in how he intended to price that portion of the job, and y'all simply tried to deceive me after the fact. There was no effort made to "improve the customer experience"; charging me the price that we agreed to initially is simply what should have happened in the first place. When I told you that I would be mailing you a check for the price that we agreed to initially, you wrote back that I was being "horribly unreasonable" and sarcastically wished me a good weekend. You stubbornly waived my invoice out of pettiness, indignation, and scorn to spite me, not as a gesture of goodwill or some effort to genuinely resolve the situation. By refusing payment for the original agreement, you arguably managed to make this already unbearable situation even worse, leaving me to awkwardly feel like a freeloader and you to forego compensation for a completed job, essentially maximizing the dissatisfaction for both parties in this insufferable transaction. If you've somehow managed to make it this far down in the review, do yourself a favor and use another plumber! read more

We have hired them for her own house,for rental properties as well as recommended their services to others who have always raved about them. I am so grateful to Greene Hunt. My pipes froze today and despite not being a past customer (I'm new to the area) and not taking calls due to a trip to Charlotte, they listened to my concerns and then advised me. They gave me enough knowledge and courage to thaw my pipes myself (I'm a 27 year old female who lives alone and is a first time homeowner). We had an unusual problem with our tankless water heater, and after a visit from 2 other plumbers and the gas company, Archie Hunt helped us finally get to the bottom of what was going on, and communicated clearly with us about the problem and his recommendations. Greene/Hunt, Inc. is a growing local plumbing company. Archie Hunt and James Greene have done a lot of residential work in my neighborhood and came highly recommended by neighbors. Greene/Hunt also does industrial plumbing and they do a lot of work for Duke. In June, Archie replaced 2 toilets for me. Archie's work was meticulous and he made sure the job was done right the first time. The work area was tidy and clean once he was done. Archie was great to work with- he's very personable, knowledgeable and really loves what he does for a living. He communicated well, letting me know if he was running even 10 minutes late. [Other companies I've used, I just had to sit around and hope they'd show up within an hour or so of the appointment.] One of the new toilets was wider than the old toilet and the water supply line had to be moved to get the new toilet to fit in the space. This cost a little extra, but the work was reasonably priced and came in close to the estimate. These guys put a lot of effort into providing good customer service. I highly recommend them. read more
