Upon completion of my alterations, there was a pucker on one side of dart which she said was due to my body part shape. I asked them to try pressing it out and to fix it. The pucker was clear when the garment was on the hanger. After pressing the pucker remained and she did not offer to fix it. Will not be going back to this business. read more

Awful service. The owner insist that it was done properly and to take the item home. Went back 4 more times and still not done properly. The owner saying we left the dress there for 6 months, yes it's been 6 months but we've been back 4 times in the 6 months to get the dress fixed. Easy and straight to the point. The seamstress is a women of little words, but definitely gets the job done. I've had many things tailored and they've all came out great with no complaints from me. The turnaround time is about 3-4 days depending on what needs to be fixed, but can be less for a higher price. Small little house off of a busy Clearview road, but they have a big parking lot in the back, so you won't have to worry about rushing and finding a parking spot. read more

Worst alterations experience ever!! I dropped a dress off to get the length altered and this was too difficult for them. The lady who helped me was in a huge rush and when I tried my dress on after it had been altered the liner was longer than the dress itself. This could be seen just by looking at the dress on the hanger so they obviously didn't even half way check for accuracy. Also, the side of the dress was an entire inch longer than the front and back. When I called about the issues they were very rude/snappy and said I could bring it back for them to look at. I HIGHLY recommend that you do yourself a favor and just go someplace else. I chose this alteration place due to its high ratings. I even called before I dropped off my items to see if they can add a hem to curtains 100" wide x 97 inches long, they told me yes. I explained that these were draperies that I accidentally shrunk one by trying to remove a stain. I wasn't aware that they were dry clean only "no tags", custom $10,000 draperies, oops on my part. I purchased my fabric and dropped off the curtains. I went to pick them up three to four days later, they were rolled up and place in a pile behind the counter! WTH?! These are thousands of dollars! Everyone else's garments are pressed, hanging, and covered with a bag. They told me they don't have the space to handle such a large items. I don't think they should have accepted my curtains then. Well, I look at my curtains and there was a crooked hem right along where it shrunk, on only one panel?! I was beyond nervous, freaking out because I had a party in a couple of days. I explained that I told the lady over the phone I want like an 8" hem across both curtains why is it only one panel? The curtains are on the same window; now one looks different than the other. Where's the rest of my fabric? The lady brought it out from the back & said that she will fix it...come back in two days. I returned to pick up the curtains rolled in a ball again. I brought them home, they were full of lint, thread, dirt; one was shorter that the other. We had to take them down again and bring it back the next day. The lady said sorry, they don't have the space for something so long; she will let it out two more inches and It will be even. I had two more days left before the party. I went to pick them up the afternoon before the party, hung them up and still not even. I just gave up, tried to pull & stretch them, I use the curtain pull on the side to hold them back for the party so no one would notice. Moral of the story...do not give them anything 90+ inches long! read more

I wish I could give this 0 stars. I've been going to mai for over 15 years and she was wonderful. Last few times have been sub par. I was willing to look over it because of her track record. The final straw was when I picked up my dress that I spent $96 to get altered. It was terrible and looked like all she did was the hem. When I expressed my concern she told me she wouldn't fix it unless I paid more. I told her I already spent $96 and wouldn't pay more to do the original alterations. She then threw her supplies down and yelled at me, and walked out the room. I will not be back, and will be disputing this charge. read more

The Asian lady running this place who barely speaks English is so mean and rude... she slammed the door in my face because she didn't want to correct HER MISTAKE AFTER SHE RUINED MY BLOUSE! I have brought several items and business to this woman for a long time; but this time, she really messed up my blouse. But when I went to confront her about it, she wasn't going to give me her time of the day. Five starts for the timeliness and quality of their work. I went here today to get very last minute alterations on a dress that my mom had given me, and they totally came through. The dress was pretty but one size too large, so it looked baggy and hung loosely in all the wrong places. Can we say unflattering? I had a wedding to go to tonight so I needed something done same day and preferably within an hour or two. I dropped the dress off at 3 PM and it was finished by 4:30. It did cost extra for me to have it done on such short notice but that's what I get for procrastinating. I didn't mind paying extra when I put the dress back on and it fit like a glove. Can I give no stars? So I take my wedding dress to be altered, it needs to be shorter which the woman assures me she can do in two weeks. This is after I get done standing there sweating waiting for her to measure my dress in a changing room of her sweat shop work house while she's off talking with other customers. A couple days before my promised pick up date, I decided to listen to my gut and call just to make sure it'd be ready. Not only is it NOT going to be ready on that day but she has the nerve to ask if I can wait FOUR more days!! I told her absolutely not and she promises it first day after the weekend. I show up that day and oh wait, it's STILL not ready!!! When I asked why and why didn't she call me, she gives me this story about how she took a day off and just got back to work that day. Says she works so hard, all the time working, to which I'm like aren't we all?! No excuse. Watch out, if it's important, take it elsewhere. This wedding dress is literally the most important piece of clothing I'll probably ever have and I can't tell you enough to shop around and save yourself some aggravation in an already pressing time as your prepare for your wedding. --- And then after picking it up and looking over it - 1. IT'S OFF CENTER!!! See photo I'm holding it front and center at the bottom in the photo and as you can see, like she clearly couldn't, IT'S ABSOLUTELY OFF CENTER. How hard is it to pick a scallop, big or small, to be in the center? She picks the middle of both so that it's not ANYWHERE near symmetrical!! 2. The lace is bubbled up like she sewed it back on without care. Now it won't lay flat and it won't and lightly grace the floor like it's supposed to do. 3. Another reason it won't lay flat is that the hem is folded up and sewn down and not snipped off so that it's flat. Did she even care when she did this? 4. Whatever her reasoning, she sewed lace on top of another existing lace pattern so now it just looks like one big blob pile of lace. Did she not care or was she blind to how that takes away from the lace patterning that MAKES the dress? How does she call herself a seamstress? I've never been so angry in my life. How can she take a job and promise it to be done (and fail to deliver) and never once offer as much as an apology to the customer. She is so rude and talked to me like it was my fault she didn't have the dress ready when she said she would have it done. When my fiancé tried calling to address the situation, she hung up on him MULTIPLE times after hearing what he was calling about. She would not honor a refund saying "I do good job. It very hard." That's straight up sorry. I'm saving the rest of my choice words but you can imagine how angry I am. So, I neglected to update my review after I received my altered bridesmaid's dress. They did a wonderful job. So wonderful in fact that I questioned whether they had opened up my seams at all...but the nicely snug fit of the dress on the day of my friend's wedding proved that they had done a nice job. My dress was ready on time and it cost me $32 to alter it. Only issue was that they have a limited number of dressing rooms so as much as I wanted to stare at myself in the dress for more than 5 minutes, there were 2 to 3 people waiting to try on their dresses so I had to hurry up. So I can send them to Vietnam to get my traditional dress. I went there today, paid her $10 to do my measurements. Instead of taking her time to measure me because it's my wedding traditional dress but she was rushing and finished it within 5min and sent me home with messy handwriting numbers. I drive all the way from the Westbank to Brian's Tailor & Alterations because I trust their work. They're very sweet and get the job done quickly without overcharging me. On multiple occasions, I've brought clothes in to be altered days before an event and the seamstress never makes a fuss/charges me extra for the short notice. This is not the case with other tailors I have been to. Yes, you pay upfront the day you bring in your clothes but I've never been unsatisfied with their work. read more

(The dress was discontinued so it was almost impossible to locate another or I would have just bought the next size up.) Brought in a dress on time that was too big in the chest but too tight in the hips to see if anything could be done. I have not been this disgusted by a business owner EVER. I'm a busy mom of 4 children, four and under. My husband picked up my dress at Brian's for a Christmas party that day. I paid them $75 for 4 separate adjustments on the dress. When I took the dress out of the plastic cover, I quickly discovered a huge hole in it. I was already jumping in the shower because we had to leave. Our babysitter was on her way. I called the shop and asked if I could get a refund for just the part of the dress with a hole in it and the woman got on the phone and yelled at me for 10 minutes. "I don't make mistakes!!!" "How can I see hole if you don't show me?!" "Bring it today, if not, no fix!" Y'all, I had an event and couldn't make it out and the best she did was just bark at me and then she hung up. I don't care how far I have to go to get something fixed in the future, but I will NOT be going back here.
